The rules are simple: You pick 2 members out of this list, and the 2 who receive the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. You must vote for 2 if you decide to vote. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks! In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. 2042 Nominations Ray Bonds http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2039/players/player254.htm 3rd Nomination Career stats: 1469 games (9th), 30746 points (17th), 10461 rebounds (60th), 6671 assists (49th), 3188 steals (3rd), 11636 FGs (17th), 5275 FTs (18th), 2199 3s (34th) The case for Ray Bonds: A very versatile combo guard who had lots of success at PG and SG. One of the best guards in EBL history at rebounding and stealing, as well as general defense. Very good passer whether at PG or SG. Had a 12 season stretch with at least 21.7 PPG each year. Very durable player with great longevity. Made 6 all league 1st teams in an era with a lot of perimeter talent, showing how good he really was. The case against Ray Bonds: Was on plenty of successful teams, but won his only title late in his career with Houston after failing multiple times. Had some struggles with turnovers, especially when playing PG. Very inconsistent 3pt shooter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Perry Zimmerman http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2040/players/player432.htm 2nd Nomination Career stats: 20284 points (75th), 13814 rebounds (13th), 2908 blocks (32nd), 5289 FTs (17th), 727 double doubles (12th) The case for Perry Zimmerman: Very consistent throughout his entire career (you could count on 15/11 from him at the worst). Was the best or 2nd best player on the 2033 76ers champion team and started for 1 other champion (2035 Rockets), as well as backing up for the 2040 Lakers title team, proving himself to be a winning player. Underrated offensive player as he shot very efficiently for a big man (.451). 6 time all star. Solid shot blocker for much of his career. Turnovers were a non issue. Good defender most of his career. The case against Perry Zimmerman: Never was a flashy player so he was overlooked often. No outside or passing game to speak of. Not a very good FT shooter. While a very good rebounder, never a dominant one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Salvatore Pirozzi 4th Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2033/players/player451.htm Career stats: 24748 points (40th), 13064 rebounds (17th), 9117 FGs (43rd), 6046 FTs (6th), 748 double doubles (9th) The case for Salvatore Pirozzi: An extremely consistent big man for much of his career (you could count on 20/10 from him). One of the better offensive big men in the league throughout much of his career. Became a very strong SF later in his career. 8 time all star. The case against Salvatore Pirozzi: Was a very poor defender as a big man. Never blocked shots. Also never won a title. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Josh Grundy http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2041/players/player49.htm Career stats: 1533 games (6th), 24928 points (39th), 14011 assists (2nd), 3202 steals (2nd), 9392 FGs (40th), 2267 3s (t-30th), 725 double doubles (14th), 59 triple doubles (6th) The case for Josh Grundy: One of the best passers in EBL history. Had a 13 out of 14 year run with double digit assists per game. Never a great scorer, but a very good one at times. Very good defender much of his career. Strong rebounder at the PG spot, especially in the 1st half of his career. Never had an issue with turnovers. 2 time champion. 7 time all star. The case against Josh Grundy: Could be an inconsistent scorer year to year. Became a poor defender near the end of his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Matt Yoder http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2037/players/player292.htm Career stats: 27602 points (24th), 9759 rebounds (76th), 6399 assists (54th), 10441 FGs (23rd), 2361 3s (24th), 39 triple doubles (t-11th) The case for Matt Yoder: One of the most versatile wing players in EBL history. Was at times an elite starter at PG and SF. 9+ seasons of 20 PPG/7 RPG. Extremely skilled passer for a natural SF. Good enough defender to not hurt his team most years. Won a title as a starter in 2032 at the end of his prime. The case against Matt Yoder: Very inconsistent 3pt shooter, especially in the 1st half of his career. Became a poor defender at the end of his career. Never accumulated many steals or blocks. Was on some very good teams, but also many that flamed out in the playoffs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current Vote Tally Josh Grundy: 14 Ray Bonds: 11 Salvatore Pirozzi: 5 Matt Yoder: 3 Perry Zimmerman: 3 Edited by Mofoticon, Oct 21 2014, 04:29 PM.

Perry Zimmerman - An incredibly consistent and underrated player. He was a big part of all three of his title teams and was about as sure a thing as you could ask for at the PF spot. He probably could have averaged 19-20 PPG over his career if he needed to be a GTG more than he was. Josh Grundy - You could argue he's a top 5 PG of all time in a league where PG play is huge. He also won two titles as a starter In addition to being the best player on some Raptors teams that were top seeds in the East, even with so-so supporting casts. The fact he's #2 in assists and steals in addition to his very high Triple Doubles/games... just a HOF player. |
