The rules are simple: You pick one person to vote for, and the 1 who receives the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks! In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. And please no "these HOF nominees are weak or terrible" posts/comments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2045 Nominations Perry Zimmerman 5th and Final Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2040/players/player432.htm Career stats: 20284 points (86th), 13814 rebounds (19th), 2908 blocks (36th), 5289 FTs (18th), 727 double doubles (15th) The case for Perry Zimmerman: Very consistent throughout his entire career (you could count on 15/11 from him at the worst). Was the best or 2nd best player on the 2033 76ers champion team and started for 1 other champion (2035 Rockets), as well as backing up for the 2040 Lakers title team, proving himself to be a winning player. Underrated offensive player as he shot very efficiently for a big man (.451). 6 time all star. Solid shot blocker for much of his career. Turnovers were a non issue. Good defender most of his career. The case against Perry Zimmerman: Never was a flashy player so he was overlooked often. No outside or passing game to speak of. Not a very good FT shooter. While a very good rebounder, never a dominant one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tony Ross http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2040/players/player321.htm 2nd Nomination Career stats: 26710 points (33rd), 10037 FGs (36th), 3966 FTs (74th), 2670 3s (14th) The case for Tony Ross: Was among the best SFs in EBL for much of his prime. An extremely efficient 3pt shooter (.433). 12 straight seasons of 20+ PPG. A 4 time all star at a crowded position. Was one of the best sidekicks in EBL history on the Clippers Scott Duncan teams. A very good rebounder and passer for his position. The case against Tony Ross: Was never a great defender, though was underrated at times with it. Did not have the same longevity as some other top notch SFs, but a case could be made he retired at the right time. Always had an issue with turnovers, though not a major one. Never led a team as the #1 guy. Also never won a title ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Benjamin Gonzalez 3rd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2036/players/player464.htm Career stats: 21695 points (73rd), 14134 rebounds (14th), 5144 FTs (25th), 730 double doubles (14th) The case for Benjamin Gonzalez: One of the better PFs in EBL most of his career. Extremely productive and consistent (17-20 ppg most of his career). Good rebounder most of his career. Good outside game for a big man. 8 time all star. The case against Benjamin Gonzalez: Never was a shot blocker or great defender. Was a productive player, but it could be argued he wasn't a big impact one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stephen Marino http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2044/players/player148.htm Career stats: 26656 points (34th), 10493 assists (13th), 2887 steals (9th), 10154 FGs (32th), 4054 FT (69th), 2294 3s (31st), 535 double doubles (51st), 56 triple doubles (7th), 3035 turnovers (24th) The case for Stephen Marino: During his prime, was one of the best players in the league. An elite scoring PG for a 5 year stretch that included 3 MVP awards and 1 Playoff MVP. Had 6 other 20 PPG seasons. Very good passer for much of his career. Elite defender at the PG spot. 9 time all star. Very effective rebounder as a PG. Good career shooting percentages as well. The case against Stephen Marino: Had more playoff failures than you'd expect. Wasn't a huge turnover machine but did have some issues with them throughout his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bill Ross http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2044/players/player323.htm Career stats: 28412 points (22nd), 10466 rebounds (69th), 10783 FGs (22nd), 4700 FTs (43rd), 2146 3s (44th) The case for Bill Ross: From his rookie season on, averaged at least 18 PPG for his first 18 seasons in the league (of which 10 were 20 PPG or more), showing remarkable consistency and longevity. One of the better rebounding non big men in EBL history. Turned into a solid 3pt shooter after having some struggles early on in his career. Won 2 titles as a starter (2036 Wizards, 2039 Heat) and played a big role on each team. Never had an issue with turnovers. Good defender most of his career. The case against Bill Ross: Never was an elite-level scorer in his career. Was merely OK at passing for a wing player. Didn't gather much in terms of steals or blocks to make a big impact on the defensive end. Could be an inconsistent shooter from 3 season to season. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zach Frost http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2044/players/player561.htm Career stats: 21933 points (71st), 15162 rebounds (7th), 3501 blocks (22nd), 8449 FGs (65th), 5015 FTs (32nd), 787 double doubles (7th) The case for Zach Frost: One of the more consistent big men of his generation, with 14 straight seasons of double doubles from 2029-2042 (averaging no lower than 15.4 PPG in a season during this streak). Underrated defender with the impact he made as a shot blocker. Strong career FG% for a big man (.452). Almost never turned the ball over (career 1.1 TOPG). The case against Zach Frost: Never had a 20 PPG season as a player so his scoring wasn't at an elite level. Terrible FT shooter and non-existent passer his entire career. Never won a title despite being on numerous good teams. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current Vote Tally Stephen Marino: 10 Perry Zimmerman: 2 Benjamin Gonzalez: 2 Bill Ross: 2 Tony Ross: 0 Zach Frost: 0 Edited by Mofoticon, Mar 15 2015, 02:28 PM.
