The rules are simple: You pick one person to vote for, and the 1 who receives the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks! In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. And please no "these HOF nominees are weak or terrible" posts/comments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2046 Nominations Benjamin Gonzalez 4th Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2036/players/player464.htm Career stats: 21695 points (75th), 14134 rebounds (16th), 5144 FTs (25th), 730 double doubles (15th) The case for Benjamin Gonzalez: One of the better PFs in EBL most of his career. Extremely productive and consistent (17-20 ppg most of his career). Good rebounder most of his career. Good outside game for a big man. 8 time all star. The case against Benjamin Gonzalez: Never was a shot blocker or great defender. Was a productive player, but it could be argued he wasn't a big impact one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bill Ross 2nd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2044/players/player323.htm Career stats: 28412 points (22nd), 10466 rebounds (70th), 10783 FGs (22nd), 4700 FTs (44th), 2146 3s (46th) The case for Bill Ross: From his rookie season on, averaged at least 18 PPG for his first 18 seasons in the league (of which 10 were 20 PPG or more), showing remarkable consistency and longevity. One of the better rebounding non big men in EBL history. Turned into a solid 3pt shooter after having some struggles early on in his career. Won 2 titles as a starter (2036 Wizards, 2039 Heat) and played a big role on each team. Never had an issue with turnovers. Good defender most of his career. The case against Bill Ross: Never was an elite-level scorer in his career. Was merely OK at passing for a wing player. Didn't gather much in terms of steals or blocks to make a big impact on the defensive end. Could be an inconsistent shooter from 3 season to season. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zach Frost 2nd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2044/players/player561.htm Career stats: 21933 points (t-72nd), 15162 rebounds (7th), 3501 blocks (24th), 8449 FGs (65th), 5015 FTs (32nd), 787 double doubles (7th) The case for Zach Frost: One of the more consistent big men of his generation, with 14 straight seasons of double doubles from 2029-2042 (averaging no lower than 15.4 PPG in a season during this streak). Underrated defender with the impact he made as a shot blocker. Strong career FG% for a big man (.452). Almost never turned the ball over (career 1.1 TOPG). The case against Zach Frost: Never had a 20 PPG season as a player so his scoring wasn't at an elite level. Terrible FT shooter and non-existent passer his entire career. Never won a title despite being on numerous good teams. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Aaron Perkins http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2045/players/player202.htm Career stats: 24495 points (51st), 11388 assists (11th), 1983 steals (55th), 9557 FGs (46th), 2336 3s (30th), 599 double doubles (t-31st) The case for Aaron Perkins: One of the best PGs in EBL throughout much of his career. Elite level passer. Had 8 seasons with 20+ PPG and 10+ APG. Former MVP (2041), title winner and Playoff MVP (2040). Good to great defender much of his career. Never had much of an issue with turnovers. The case against Aaron Perkins: Was never a good rebounder at the PG spot. Inconsistent 3pt shooter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Eugene Doyle http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2045/players/player593.htm Career stats: 14946 rebounds (11th), 4086 blocks (7th) The case for Eugene Doyle: One of the best defensive players in EBL most of his career (2 time DPOY, 6 all defensive 1st or 2nd teams). Impacted the game in a big way despite being a 1 way player. From season 4 on, never averaged below 11.4 RPG and 3.1 his entire career, covering 14 seasons. Never had an issue with turnovers despite the terrible offense he provided. The case against Eugene Doyle: Was a bad to terrible offensive player almost his entire career, especially the 2nd half. Never passed the ball either. Horrible FT shooter as well. Never won a title despite being on numerous good teams. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jason Handy http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2045/players/player415.htm Career stats: 1435 games (11th), 29600 points (20th), 11172 rebounds (53rd), 5910 assists (69th), 2654 steals (15th), 11199 FGs (18th), 4241 FTs (58th), 2961 3s (5th) The case for Jason Handy: Had a long (19 season) and productive career. Had a 6-7 season run where he was among the best SFs in EBL. 12 20+ PPG seasons total. Elite rebounder at the SF spot as well as a very good passer. Was always a top notch defender. 3 time champion (including a Playoff MVP) as well as a former 6th man of the year winner, showing his versatility as a backup and starter. The case against Jason Handy: Wasn't an elite player for the first 8-9 seasons of his career and was even considered somewhat of a disappointment before finding his stride. Had an issue with turnovers, mostly earlier on in his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current Vote Tally Jason Handy: 8 Aaron Perkins: 5 Eugene Doyle: 3 Bill Ross: 2 Benjamin Gonzalez: 0 Zach Frost: 0 Edited by Mofoticon, May 9 2015, 11:42 PM.
