The rules are simple: You pick one person to vote for, and the 1 who receives the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks! In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. And please no "these HOF nominees are weak or terrible" posts/comments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2048 Nominations Bill Ross 4th Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2044/players/player323.htm Career stats: 28412 points (25th), 10466 rebounds (72nd), 10783 FGs (25th), 4700 FTs (46th), 2146 3s (49th) The case for Bill Ross: From his rookie season on, averaged at least 18 PPG for his first 18 seasons in the league (of which 10 were 20 PPG or more), showing remarkable consistency and longevity. One of the better rebounding non big men in EBL history. Turned into a solid 3pt shooter after having some struggles early on in his career. Won 2 titles as a starter (2036 Wizards, 2039 Heat) and played a big role on each team. Never had an issue with turnovers. Good defender most of his career. The case against Bill Ross: Never was an elite-level scorer in his career. Was merely OK at passing for a wing player. Didn't gather much in terms of steals or blocks to make a big impact on the defensive end. Could be an inconsistent shooter from 3 season to season. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tony Ross 4th Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2040/players/player321.htm Career stats: 26710 points (39th), 10037 FGs (42nd), 3966 FTs (82nd), 2670 3s (16th) The case for Tony Ross: Was among the best SFs in EBL for much of his prime. An extremely efficient 3pt shooter (.433). 12 straight seasons of 20+ PPG. A 4 time all star at a crowded position. Was one of the best sidekicks in EBL history on the Clippers Scott Duncan teams. A very good rebounder and passer for his position. The case against Tony Ross: Was never a great defender, though was underrated at times with it. Did not have the same longevity as some other top notch SFs, but a case could be made he retired at the right time. Always had an issue with turnovers, though not a major one. Never led a team as the #1 guy. Also never won a title ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zach Frost 3rd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2044/players/player561.htm Career stats: 21933 points (77th), 15162 rebounds (10th), 3501 blocks (25th), 8449 FGs (71st), 5015 FTs (33rd), 787 double doubles (7th) The case for Zach Frost: One of the more consistent big men of his generation, with 14 straight seasons of double doubles from 2029-2042 (averaging no lower than 15.4 PPG in a season during this streak). Underrated defender with the impact he made as a shot blocker. Strong career FG% for a big man (.452). Almost never turned the ball over (career 1.1 TOPG). The case against Zach Frost: Never had a 20 PPG season as a player so his scoring wasn't at an elite level. Terrible FT shooter and non-existent passer his entire career. Never won a title despite being on numerous good teams. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Elin Tryggvason 3rd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2039/players/player597.htm Career stats: 11966 rebounds (44th), 3315 blocks (30th), 628 double doubles (28th) The case for Elin Tryggvason: Didn't have a long career, but made a big impact still. 2 time champion who also made a 3rd finals. Was considered one of the best defensive big man in EBL during his prime. Extremely efficient shooter for a big man (career shooting of 47%). Provided very good scoring from the center spot for a 7 year period of 2027-2034. Very good shot blocker and good rebounder throughout his career. Never struggled with turnovers. The case against Elin Tryggvason: Was a poor FT shooter and a non existent passer. Had no outside game to speak of. Didn't have great longevity in this league. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Aaron Perkins 3rd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2045/players/player202.htm Career stats: 24495 points (56th), 11388 assists (12th), 1983 steals (57th), 9557 FGs (50th), 2336 3s (34th), 599 double doubles (t-33rd) The case for Aaron Perkins: One of the best PGs in EBL throughout much of his career. Elite level passer. Had 8 seasons with 20+ PPG and 10+ APG. Former MVP (2041), title winner and Playoff MVP (2040). Good to great defender much of his career. Never had much of an issue with turnovers. The case against Aaron Perkins: Was never a good rebounder at the PG spot. Inconsistent 3pt shooter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Josh Tanner http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2047/players/player617.htm Career stats: 15321 rebounds (8th), 4050 blocks (12th), 589 double doubles (36th) The case for Josh Tanner: Was one of the best rebounders in EBL history. Once set the record for most RPG in a season (14.5). Had 10 seasons with at least 12.3 RPG. Elite level shot blocker as well during this time. Former 2 time DPOY as well as a 7 time all star. Though he didn't score much, he also didn't hurt his team with bad shooting, either. Solid to good passer during his prime. 11 straight seasons of averaging a double double from 2032-2042. The case against Josh Tanner: Beyond one 18 PPG season, never did anything notable on offense. Was a bad FT shooter and a non existent outside player. Fell off sharply as a player later in his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current Vote Tally Aaron Perkins: 13 Josh Tanner: 5 Tony Ross: 2 Bill Ross: 1 Elin Tryggvason: 0 Zach Frost: 0 Edited by Mofoticon, Aug 19 2015, 04:00 PM.

Usually I'll just toss my vote in, probably vote for a guy I used to have, but I feel like I should explain it this year. I could vote for Frost and Elin, who I had both for short spells and did great for me mostly. I could vote for either of the Ross brothers because they had great careers in EBL. Perkins won an EBL title and kept the Lakers afloat long after the leak sprung in that ship. But my vote will go to Josh Tanner. He was not only the most feared big man in the league during his prime, but perhaps the most intimidating and untouchable player of his time as well. This speaks to me more as a voter than any other accolade attributed to the other candidates. |

Aaron Perkins - We've become so accustomed to elite PG's making the HOF that I think sometimes we just try to find player that are better at different spots, but Perk was a special talent who deserves in ahead of the others here. |
