The rules are simple: You pick one person to vote for, and the 1 who receives the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks!

In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available.

And please no "these HOF nominees are weak or terrible" posts/comments.

2049 Nominations

Bill Ross

5th and Final Nomination

http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2044/players/player323.htm

Career stats: 28412 points (26th), 10466 rebounds (79th), 10783 FGs (26th), 4700 FTs (48th), 2146 3s (51st)

The case for Bill Ross: From his rookie season on, averaged at least 18 PPG for his first 18 seasons in the league (of which 10 were 20 PPG or more), showing remarkable consistency and longevity. One of the better rebounding non big men in EBL history. Turned into a solid 3pt shooter after having some struggles early on in his career. Won 2 titles as a starter (2036 Wizards, 2039 Heat) and played a big role on each team. Never had an issue with turnovers. Good defender most of his career.

The case against Bill Ross: Never was an elite-level scorer in his career. Was merely OK at passing for a wing player. Didn't gather much in terms of steals or blocks to make a big impact on the defensive end. Could be an inconsistent shooter from 3 season to season.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Josh Tanner

2nd Nomination

http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2047/players/player617.htm

Career stats: 15321 rebounds (8th), 4050 blocks (12th), 589 double doubles (38th)

The case for Josh Tanner: Was one of the best rebounders in EBL history. Once set the record for most RPG in a season (14.5). Had 10 seasons with at least 12.3 RPG. Elite level shot blocker as well during this time. Former 2 time DPOY as well as a 7 time all star. Though he didn't score much, he also didn't hurt his team with bad shooting, either. Solid to good passer during his prime. 11 straight seasons of averaging a double double from 2032-2042.

The case against Josh Tanner: Beyond one 18 PPG season, never did anything notable on offense. Was a bad FT shooter and a non existent outside player. Fell off sharply as a player later in his career.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Keith Koch

http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2044/players/player448.htm

Career stats: 14009 rebounds (20th), 4424 blocks (5th)

The case for Keith Koch: He was one of the biggest impact defenders EBL has ever seen. Over the 2nd half of his career, he made his teams defense so good that they could become title contenders just based off that. Underrated rebounder and passer. Capable of being an OK scorer at times. 2 time champion along with numerous defensive accolades.

The case against Keith Koch: The first 7-8 seasons of his career were basically a wash out. Because of that, didn't have great longevity as an elite player in EBL. Generally a poor offensive player year in and out.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kevin Land

http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2047/players/player491.htm

Career stats: 20443 points (98th), 13601 rebounds (23rd), 4492 blocks (4th), 652 double doubles (24th)

The case for Kevin Land: Was generally a good to great offensive big (career FG% of .453). Overcame his rebounding issues early in his career to become a top 25 rebounder all time by the end of it. Former 2 time DPOY as well as 5 time all star. One of the best shot blockers in EBL history, with 12 straight seasons of at least 3.4.

The case against Kevin Land: Was a poor rebounding big for much of his early career. Non existent outside game and could be a liability at FTs. Averaged much more TOPG (2.2) than APG (1.4) career. Only had 1 season above 20 PPG and 1 season above 12 RPG, both in 2037.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

David Guth

http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2048/players/player516.htm

Career stats: 27938 points (28th), 16573 rebounds (4th), 2850 blocks (42nd), 10314 FGs (33rd), 5773 FTs (10th), 892 double doubles (4th)

The case for David Guth: One of the most successful careers any big man has ever had in EBL. He is behind only Derrick Favors among big men in career points. Had 12 straight 20/11 or better seasons in his prime. Great 3pt shooter, big man or not (career .403). 9 time all star as well as 7 all EBL 1st team appearances. Was a great passer for a big man as well. Solid shot blocker.

The case against David Guth: Never won a title despite being on many good teams. Played too long, hurting some of his legacy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Henry Brown

http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2048/players/player240.htm

Career stats: 26364 points (45th), 6442 assists (60th), 2623 steals (21st), 9964 FGs (45th), 2587 3s (22nd)

The case for Henry Brown: Won so many regular season games that it is tough to even keep track of. 11 time all star, as well as an all EBLer 8 times, making a strong case to be the best SG of his generation. Was an ideal sidekick to David Griffin almost every season. An elite 3pt shooter and scorer in general. Had 12 seasons of at least 20 PPG. Was an elite defender at the SG spot most of his career. Great rebounder/handler as well. Was capable of being a very good PG at times.

The case against Henry Brown: Never led a team as the #1 guy. Was a big part of many playoff failures in Portland.

Current Vote Tally

David Guth: 13
Keith Koch: 4

Normally I wouldn't endorse a non-title winner, simply because winning titles is the barometer of what makes people great in this league. But there is an exception to be made when it comes to David Guth. For the same reason I chose to vote for Josh Tanner last season, I feel compelled to vote for David Guth this season. He had that X-Factor that every team wanted. I don't think he ever found that 2nd banana, which would've brought him into making this an easy vote.

Still, I don't believe that disqualifies him from being a Hall of Famer.

No one else here brought a team of backups to the playoffs. My boy Koch. No one else I've ever had including favors had as much of an impact on any of my teams either for that matter.

Well based off all the information that was given and me looking at these players in their prime years.

Guth looks like a MONSTER
