The rules are simple: You pick one person to vote for, and the 1 who receives the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks! In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. And please no "these HOF nominees are weak or terrible" posts/comments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2050 Nominations Josh Tanner 3rd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2047/players/player617.htm Career stats: 15321 rebounds (8th), 4050 blocks (13th), 589 double doubles (39th) The case for Josh Tanner: Was one of the best rebounders in EBL history. Once set the record for most RPG in a season (14.5). Had 10 seasons with at least 12.3 RPG. Elite level shot blocker as well during this time. Former 2 time DPOY as well as a 7 time all star. Though he didn't score much, he also didn't hurt his team with bad shooting, either. Solid to good passer during his prime. 11 straight seasons of averaging a double double from 2032-2042. The case against Josh Tanner: Beyond one 18 PPG season, never did anything notable on offense. Was a bad FT shooter and a non existent outside player. Fell off sharply as a player later in his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Keith Koch 2nd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2044/players/player448.htm Career stats: 14009 rebounds (20th), 4424 blocks (5th) The case for Keith Koch: He was one of the biggest impact defenders EBL has ever seen. Over the 2nd half of his career, he made his teams defense so good that they could become title contenders just based off that. Underrated rebounder and passer. Capable of being an OK scorer at times. 2 time champion along with numerous defensive accolades. The case against Keith Koch: The first 7-8 seasons of his career were basically a wash out. Because of that, didn't have great longevity as an elite player in EBL. Generally a poor offensive player year in and out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Henry Brown 2nd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2048/players/player240.htm Career stats: 26364 points (45th), 6442 assists (63rd), 2623 steals (21st), 9964 FGs (46th), 2587 3s (22nd) The case for Henry Brown: Won so many regular season games that it is tough to even keep track of. 11 time all star, as well as an all EBLer 8 times, making a strong case to be the best SG of his generation. Was an ideal sidekick to David Griffin almost every season. An elite 3pt shooter and scorer in general. Had 12 seasons of at least 20 PPG. Was an elite defender at the SG spot most of his career. Great rebounder/handler as well. Was capable of being a very good PG at times. The case against Henry Brown: Never led a team as the #1 guy. Was a big part of many playoff failures in Portland. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dave Hutchinson http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2049/players/player68.htm Career stats: 29735 points (21st), 12306 assists (9th), 2008 steals (59th), 11295 FGs (20th), 4510 FTs (55th), 2635 3s (t-17th), 584 double doubles (43rd) The case for Dave Hutchinson: One of the most prolific PGs in EBL history. One of only 4 players to be top 21 in both points and assists (Rodney Purvis, David ONeal, Brandon Jennings). 11 straight seasons of 20+ PPG. Was fantastic at limiting turnovers, never averaging more than 2 in a season. Very effective shooter (.463 from the field, .853 from FTs, .410 from 3). 6 time all star at a loaded position. The case against Dave Hutchinson: Hardly ever made the playoffs the first decade of his career due to poor supporting casts. Was unable to carry bad teams to wins. Wasn't a bad defender most of his career, but also wasn't a great one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Doug Hardesty http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2049/players/player171.htm Career stats: 23680 points (64th), 11201 assists (14th), 2070 steals (52nd), 9129 FGs (61st), 2236 3s (47th), 566 double doubles (48th) The case for Doug Hardesty: A 3 time EBL MVP. One of the best passers in EBL history, with 9 seasons of 10+ APG. 7 seasons with at least 20 PPG. Was very adept at getting steals early in his career. 6 time all star. Was an elite 3pt shooter much of his career (.418). Was always a great all around handler, with a career APG:TOPG ratio of better than 5 to 1. The case against Doug Hardesty: Didn't have longevity as a great scorer (basically done as a 20 PPG scorer by year 9). Despite having great teams, never was able to win a title. Poor rebounder for a PG. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Alex Lo http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2049/players/player475.htm Career stats: 15234 rebounds (9th), 4161 blocks (11th), 502 double doubles (t-71st) The case for Alex Lo: One of the best defensive players of his generation. Was able to anchor a team's defense at the center spot for much of his career. Dominant to elite rebounder from year 5 to his retirement in year 16 (9 seasons in this span with at least 13 RPG). Elite shot blocker as well (at least 3.5 every season during this span). Won 2 titles as the main defensive guy in Denver and was on numerous other great teams. Remained elite on defense until he retired, winning his 2nd DPOY in his final season as well as putting up a career high 14.5 RPG. The case against Alex Lo: Was always a poor offensive player. Sometimes shot too much considering his limitations on that side of the ball. Was a fairly poor ball handler his entire career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current Vote Tally Doug Hardesty: 9 Alex Lo: 3 Dave Hutchinson: 3 Keith Koch: 2 Henry Brown: 1 Josh Tanner: 1 Edited by Mofoticon, Nov 25 2015, 12:29 AM.

I'm going with Hutch because I don't think his being on shitty teams should be held against him. |

Hardesty - his peaks were higher and 3 MVP awards is nothing to sneeze at.

One of the few ballots where I think every single person deserves to be elected. So it is less a matter of who is deserving and more who should go in first. In this case, it has to be Hardesty |
