In the words of Krusty the Clown, hey hey kids! This is the off-topic thread for the Pandemic Role Play Game.

About this thread
This thread is intended to be used alongside the RPG, both to save the RPG from getting clogged with irrelevant off-topic notes and comments and to make it easier to ensure everybody sees important notifications. This thread will therefore be used for:
*New character Bios
*Links to RPG related poetry, artwork, mini-stories ect
*Notifications of absence (eg: “Im on holiday” or “I texted Bob and he says he is poorly and has no internet access)
*Comments on current storylines
*Ideas for future storylines
*Explanations of ‘the story so far’ for the benefit of people joining the RPG at a later date
*Other chatter 

A bit about RPGing
For old hands at RPGing this section will be teaching granny to suck eggs but I will include it because its been a while since I RPed!
The whole idea of roleplay is pretending to be something other than which you are. In this RP, this takes the form similar to that of writing a story from a characters point of view (the characters for the Pandemic RPG are mostly going to be dogs due to the nature of the story setting).
All role play games are a bit different in their rules and setup. The way this forums RPGs tend to work is that the RPG is played on a single thread basis (ie. Only one thread is used for the RPG regardless of how branched off the storyline gets). This means that it is important to carefully read posts of people before. If Bobs character says to Georges character “Im going to go hunt rabbits over there with Joe*runs off*” and then Georges character posts “*looks at Bob* “hey I think we should go shopping” then that causes confusion. Unfortunately thats the risk you run with this type of RPG and the onlu solution is for everyone to be on the ball about who is where when (if you are confused, post in this thread  ). For the sake of clarity, however, I would suggest trying to make the characters stick roughly together, especially at the beginning.
RPGs have an etiquette that is good to follow. This stops any misunderstandings and helps things flow better.
1) Do not ‘powerplay’. This is when you write for someone elses character without permission and is a faux pas because everybody has their own ideas of how they want their own character to develop. You can get round powerplaying by wording your posts caresfully. “Jim barked and ran off in distress, Jessie chasing him to ask him whats wrong” could cause contention but “Jim barked and ran off in distress, though he half wondered if Jessie would follow him” would be ok because it gives the player of Jessie the option of doing something else.
2) Remember its a game; this seems daft but just because someones character is being an ass doesn’t mean the player is an ass! Post your concerns in this thread or contact players directly if you want to chat about character development.
3) Stay in character when writing (this thread is for out of character stuff  ). Staying in character also means thinking about your characters physical limitations. A Chihuahua cannot jump onto a car bonnet or manipulate its digits enough to work a keyboard!
4) Think carefully about what your character knows. You might know that Maureens character came from Switzerland but your character, on meeting her for the first time, will not know this information.
5) In certain situations, two characters have to interact. Probably the most obvious thing here is to fight. In such a situation, try to leave things open as much as possible. “Tim jumped at James’s throat and tore it out” borders on powerplaying but “Tim attempted to jump at James’s throat and tear it out” is fair; it gives James character a chance to respond (either by “James felt Tims teeth in is throat” or “James leapt free of Tims dive” or even “James dropped dead through sheer exhaustion”.
6) Don’t make your character a “Mary-Sue” (ie a super perfect character or a super clichéd character). Try and give him or her dimesions. Sometimes, faults are as interesting as gifts.
7) Make every post worthwhile.
8) Do not steal the show , either by writing your own character into the role of main hero or by taking over the RP with sheer number of characters you have created.

Theres probably more but Ive forgotton  Erwin posted a nice guide to RPGs which is pinned in this part of the board, have a read of that if you are confused-it words stuff waaaay better than I do!

About Pandemic
Pandemic is a dog RPG-while other species can be played if you really, really want, it is the dogs that are the focus species. It is not a quest style RPG, rather a RPG following the trials of dogs trying to survive independently as pariahs from the domestic world.
Unlike some rpgs, there is no gamemaster in pandemic. This means any player can describe the scenery or the weather or introduce cannon-fodder as long as this is linkable with the previous post (don’t one person write a desert while the next describes an iceberg in the sea!).

Pandemic is set in the United Kingdom, year 2020. Over the last year, a version of the rabies virus has spontaneously mutated in Scotland into a new breed of disease. This disease, caused by the HR-7 virus, has become colloquially known as Mad Dog Syndrome.

The HR-7 virus is specific to dogs only and is spread between dogs by saliva (and can live in saliva dribbled on food ect for an hour after leaving the dog). This means once bitten by an infected animal or coming into direct contact with fresh drool, a dog may possibly contract the disease (though it is not guaranteed). For 7 days after the animal is infected, the virus is silent (meaning the dog will look and act normal). On the 7th day, symptoms will start. Symptoms of a mad dog are neurological-twitching and irrational behaviour and disintergration of motor function and self mutilation. The whites of the eyes turn red and bloodshot in appearance. Personality wise, dogs become increasingly angry and unpredictable, somewhat like aggressive drunks. A perculiarity with HR-7 is that just like rabies, a symptom is hydrophobia-fear of water. An infected dog will avoid water to a greater extent than they will fire. Once a dog shows symptoms of the disease there is no cure and the animal will die within a week.

It is up to you whether your character will ever be infected with the HR-7 virus or not (it is a good way to kill off characters or to introduce characters with a short lifespan!).

While humans cannot catch the HR-7 virus, it has caused mass fear and hatred of dogs. Hundreds of people have been mauled and killed by infected animals. Thousands of animals have been put to sleep for having the virus and thousands more for just being dogs. Other people have feared their pets, yet been unable to kill them and 'set them free' into the wild. This has lead to a government introduction of “Dog Bounties “-rewards for men and women who trap stray dogs and hand them over for euthanasia to avoid the spread of HR-7 further.
For Pandemic characters, life is vicious. Some may never have lived away from the comfort of domestication. Others have been beaten, hounded and betrayed by human companions. Dangers to the characters include the HR-7 virus, Dog Bounty amateur trappers, vigilante people out to shoot dogs to stop disease, general sickness, other dogs, starvation, exposure and extreme weathers to name but a few.

To make the Pandemic RPG flow more nicely, it would be great if everyone could make chunky posts. It doesn’t have to be a novel per post, just more than a one line of one word! If you are stuck, think about what your character can see, hear and touch. Smell is incredibly important to dogs so in Pandemic moreso than perhaps other RPGs

Character Forms
Please fill out the following ‘form’ for your character. The more detail the better (especially on appearance as then other players can describe what their character sees). This list is by no way exhaustive, its just ideas to think about when designing your character 

Character Name [including a.k.a.s]:

Character Gender: Male/ Neutered Male/ Female/ Neutered Female

That should be enough guidelines and whatnot for now, but if you want to add some more go ahead  Lets get this RPG on the road!

Form for Thorns Character

Character Name [including a.k.a.s]: Chuck

Character Age: 6 years, 5 months

Character Lifestage : Adult, heading toward senior

Character Gender: Male (unneutered)

Character Species: Canine

Character Breed: Crossbreed. He has a lot of Staffordshire bull terrier in him and he has the long leggy look, elongated blocky muzzle and grey eyes more often associated with a Pitbull, but there are numerous breeds in his ancestry (something he is rather proud of).

Character Size: Medium (stands about 60cm/23 inches) tall on all fours

Character Build: Athletic and muscular but slightly on the skinny side

Character Coat, Colouration And Markings: Brown Brindle (dark chocolate brown with black bars) with a white splash down the middle of his chest. Grey eyes. While most of his fur is sleek and smooth, occasional hairs stick up the wrong way in testament to the scarring underneath.

Character Scent A mix of tarmac, dust and smoke but he suffers badly in the wet from Wet Dog Smell.

Physical Description Of Character: Chuck is a leggy dog with a slender whippy tail, something that contrasts oddly with his blocky head and shoulders. His fur is very short and a patchwork of brown and black in colour which stands up the wrong way in places. He has grey eyes and a half and half nose-the left half is pink while the other half is black. As standard, Chucks little ears are kept down and folded against his head but they stick up when he is particularly interested in something. If you shaved Chuck, you would find a network of scars.

Character Voice: Deep and hoarse, he sounds halfway between a Bond villain and a football hooligan.

Character Personality: Despite a tough start in life, Chuck is quite an upbeat character. He can be charming and will give favours with no expectation of return. Dogfighting has made him disproportionately aggressive to dogs he perceives as a threat to himself. Chuck is very sure of himself and highly opinionated on every subject but because of this is often guilty of talking bullpoo.

Character Skills And Attributes: Chuck has had a rough upbringing. He is an experienced fighter and scavenger and is very streetwise (though completely out of his depth in a countryside environment.) He has become increasingly savvy in the recent year of the HR-7 virus and has picked up a lot of knowledge (some of it complete rubbish). He has lived with humans as a pet before but his experiences are jaded ones and his knowledge on what it means to be part of a family is limited. He is athletic, strong and experienced.

Character Past History: Chucks luck in surviving is directly thanks to being unlucky in the pre-HR-7 world. He was born to a tired bitch and an unknown father in a trailer park in the North East of England, the only male in a litter of six and an unwanted puppy. At five weeks old, before he was properly weaned, he was given away to a Mr Jenkins as a present for his wife in an attempt to save their marriage. Chuck has never seen his sisters or mother again. Naturally, a five week old puppy cannot save a marriage and little Chuck made things worse with his howling and chewing and destruction. By the time he reached 6 months old, the Jenkins gave him to an acquaintance known only as Hobbs. Chuck lived with Hobbs in his flat for 18 months, during which he was well cared for. Hobbs got into debt, however, and when his neighbour offered money for Chuck, he sold him on. The neighbour notorious on the estate for dog fighting and Chuck became a fighting dog. While he learned to fight, his puppyhood in a soft family home meant he retained a degree of bite inhibition and when a fight went badly aged 3, his owner ‘turned him free’ outside in the estate rather than pay the vet bills.

Chuck spent the next two years living a semi-stray existence in the locality. He retained enough people skills to make him popular with children and the elderly and so never went for lack of food. He also became extremely popular with local bitches and fathered various litters, though his involvement with his offspring was generally minimal.

When the HR-7 virus first mutated in Scotland, Chuck was trying to woo a blue staffy bitch called Skye. As the virus progressed across the country, he remained popular with females and hated by other males but his relationship with humans changed. Suddenly, there was less food and those who had previously had kind words for him shied away to deny and responsibility for him. Eventually, kids started shooting at him with BB pellets and at that point Chuck moved on to another estate until he was chased there. This became his pattern of life and he became wary of humans quickly.

Anything Else?: In case you are interested, Chuck currently could claim to have fathered 53 offspring. Of these, 9 (3 sons, 6 daughters) remain alive: 4 died within days of birth, 2 were put to sleep due to medical problems, 3 were put to sleep due to aggression, 2 were killed by cars and 1 was killed in a dogfight. Of the remaining 32, 4 were confirmed to have HR-7 and put to sleep and 7 were killed by owners or neighbours. The remaining 21 were euthanased out of fear of contracting the disease. Chuck does not know about these figures.

I am aware I have created a borderline deliquent as my character but meh

Wow! Sounds fantastic Thorn and a lot of thought has gone into your character. I have thought of my character but I need to tweak a few things here and there. I should have it done by tommorow (So this post will be edited).

Also, think it would be ok if we stuck to one main character per person? That way it makes things less confusing. I don't know about some people but I find that when someone has more than one character, the plot gets a bit more confusing and "soap like". Minor characters are ok or ones that will be disappearing soon but Yes...two main characters may be a lot :/.

Sure Tsuks, a character limit seems a good idea :) As you said, not set in stone, but I agree that its easier to stick with one main character at a time (plus it will be easy to kill off a current character f you decide you want a new one  ) . If someone has too many charcters it can get to feel like you are just an audience.

Looking forward to seeing yours :bounce:

ooo, I shall be a joining ^_^ I'll use a character I haven't used for a while :)

One character per person is a good idea. I need to get back into RPG'ing so this will be a good one for me to join.

Character Name [including a.k.a.s]: Dawn
Character Age: 3
Character Lifestage (NB: the lifespan of dogs varies according to breed; a 6 year old Labrador would, for example, be considered middle aged while a six year old great dane would be a senior dog): Young Adult, but rather immature.
Character Gender: Female
Character Species: Canine
Character Breed: Akita X Kishu
Character Size: About 60cm tall.
Character Build: Slim.
Character Coat, Colouration And Markings: See pic
Character Scent (not like perfume! How does your character smell to other dogs?): She smells like strawberries ^_^ Haha, nah. She smells threatening, but intresting.
Physical Description Of Character: http://greyewolf.deviantart.com/art/PointC...-Dawn-194913396 Here are her markings :D
Character Voice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYnneXm3ppc - The girls voice obvs :3
Character Personality: Dawn is very sarcastic, rash and trusts very few. She doesn't really know her place in the world and is quick to challenge others.
Character Skills And Attributes: She is quick and strong, though sometimes careless and rash. She is blind in her left eye which is a dull white colour.
Character Past History: Dawn and her brother Dusk were the only two surviving pups of her litter. When they were six months old, they were both sent off to a lab where various experiments were performed on the pair. For a year they stayed here, untill Dawn lashed out at one of the scientists one day. That day she lost vision in her left eye. They went to sedate her... and missed. She was thrown back into her cage and was going to be put to sleep, but Dusk and his sister escaped into the woodland. They ran as far from london as they could and spent a long while heading north. They settled in a small copse several months later and taught themselves to hunt.

They stayed here peacefully for a year, but then Dusk contracted the HR-7 virus. Everytime Dawn approached him, Dusk made to attack her and seeing his eyes redden and his anger rise, Dawn became fearful of her brother. He stopped eating. Hated her being near him and eventually, after eight days he died. Dawn was alone. She felt betrayed, saddened and angry by her brothers death. She was confused as to why he was acting that way and that they had parted forever on such horrid terms. With nothing left to stay for, she travelled north. The only one she'd ever cared about had betrayed her and left her alone.
Anything Else?: Nope, don't think so ^^

I shot him. With a pistol hidden in my moustache.
King +
lets have a go then :)

Character Name [including a.k.a.s]: Cypher or ‘Cyphie’
Character Age: 2 years (21 in Dog years)
Character Lifestage: Young Adult
Character Gender: Neutered Female
Character Species: Canine
Character Breed: German Shepherd
Character Size: 58 centimetres tall (Around 25 Inches)
Character Build: Athletic
Character Coat, Colouration And Markings: Soild black
Character Scent: Has the smell of tree bark and grass from her time in the wild.
Physical Description Of Character: Cypher is the looks like an average German Shepherd, only she has a full black coat and the top of her left ear is missing.
Character Voice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUMUbpjunbk
Character Personality: Due to actions by her former human owners, Cypher has become a cynical, paranoid dog that distrusts anything that walks on two legs. She usually makes sarcastic comments about something she doesn’t agree with. In comparison, she is deathly loyal to whoever she befriends.
Character Skills And Attributes: Cypher is quick, alert and like her breed, smart. While she doesn’t know exactly what HR-7 is. She refers to it as ‘that thing‘, and she knows there is something wrong with the world and it has given her a sort of ‘sixth sense’, as Cypher gets ‘funny feelings’ which usually turn out to be right.
Character Past History: When Cypher was born, before she could open her eyes she was taken from her parents to her human home. She grew up happily with the daughter of the house, bonding with the teenager over two years. While Cypher was owned by the family, she only ever thought of the teenage girl as her true master.

When the HR-7 incident escalated, Cypher discovered a dying dog when out walking with her teenage owner. Cypher was scared by the infected dog, and was horrified when it died before her eyes. She was found by her owner, who saw the dead dog and then took her back home, where she sensed something was very wrong.

A week later, more humans arrived and to Cypher’s terror, began taking dogs from the houses, and their owners seemed to be giving them away willingly. Cypher refused to believe that the humans would willingly give away their dogs, and her paranoia began to take hold.

When Cypher’s turn came, she almost went insane from a mix of fear, betrayal and anger, but in the split second her teenage owner let her go to hand her over to the Soldiers, Cypher bolted and ran. She managed to escape into the woods behind the estate, and knowing them better than the soldiers searching for her, managed to hide until nightfall. It was the first time Cypher had ever spent a night in the wild, and with her fear dominating her senses, her paranoia grew and she didn’t rest very well.

When night came, Cypher made her way back to her home. If it was just pure luck or it had been decided by fate, the teenage girl was in the kitchen of the house when Cypher got into the garden. She opened the door of the house to meet Cypher on the patio, and gave her a tearful goodbye. She removed Cypher’s collar, which Cypher first didn‘t understand, then realised her owner wasn’t going to turn her in, but was giving her a chance to escape. After one final hug from her best friend and owner, Cypher fled into the night and headed north, terrified but determined to survive and find her own way in the world.

Argh! This RPG already seems more conplex and involved than I think I can cope with. I lack imagination at the best of times. 0: I'll need to try and read it again soon to see if I can really see me taking part. I'd really like to but I am crap at these things. :/

I'm already thinking I'd like to play as a Bernese Mountain Dog as that's my favourite breed. Sorry Pepper, I can't play you here! Details to come when I decide if I can contribute! :)

I love the character designs for Cyphie and Dawn! I was shocked when Dawns brother gets the virus and was devestated for Cypher when reading their histories :bounce:

Character Name [including a.k.a.s]: Cait (Pronounced as Kate)

Character Age: 2 years

Character Lifestage : Young Adult but only just (So like a teenager).

Character Gender: Female (Not Neutered)

Character Species: Canine

Character Breed: Tri-coloured Border Collie

Character Size: She is about the same size as a normal border collie if not a tad smaller

Character Build: Slim

Character Coat, Colouration And Markings: See Piccy for a better idea ^_^: (First time I've ever drawn a Border Collie so....yeh ^^; )

Posted Image

Black coat with a white ruff (that covers her throat and chest) and she has a white underbelly. Tip of her tail is white and she has white legs with black ticking on them (almost like freckles). She has a white bridge along the length of her nose and a white muzzle with tan coloured eye dots and the inside of her ears are also tan coloured.

Character Scent : She smells like the countryside and has a mixed scent of sweet grass, morning dew, raw meat, sheep and fresh mud. She also smells rather fearful.

Physical Description Of Character: (See Piccy again) She has medium long fur especially along her shoulders and a rather bushy tail but her legs are very slim. Her ears are slightly folded towards the top and they often lie close to the top of her head. Her tail is held low aside from the tip which seems to stick up giving it the impression that it is broken. She has brown eyes and her nose is black and wears a rather chunky brown collar.

Character Voice: Though her parents were Scottish, Cait has a clear English accent which can sound rather young and now and again she speaks with a “countryside” accent. For a better idea, listen to this and try and imagine it with an English accent XD: Jessica Straus

Character Personality: Cait is rather shy and after the incident with her brother, she has become rather fearful and paranoid. Having said that, she is very loyal and protective of those she trusts. Being raised as a work dog, she will do as she is told without question and is rather patient with tasks she has been given, although she can become aggressive when she is trying to protect something (for example a flock of sheep).

Character Skills And Attributes: Though she may not look it, Cait is a rather strong dog with a lot of stamina. She is a fast runner and knows a great deal about the countryside but this means she has never ventured close to the town and knows very little about it and as mentioned before, she will do as she is told without question.

Character Past History: Cait was born in the highlands of Scotland just outside Inverness a year before the HR-7 virus mutated .She is one of six and her mother was also a Tri-Coloured Border Collie but her father was a Border Collie and a champion sheepdog. Once the pups were weaned, Cait and one of her brothers were sold to a farmer called Mr Davies who lived in the South Lancashire countryside, England (Let’s give it a location neh? :P).

For the next two years, Cait and her brother Ben were raised on a farm just outside of a small town and they were both trained to be working dogs, in this case sheepdogs. They were both treated well but they were not seen as pets. When the Pandemic spread to England, Mr Davies became increasingly worried about his dogs as well as his livestock and he began night shifts where he would watch over his flock with Cait and Ben.

Early one morning, Mr Davies had heard some dogs in a nearby wood next to the field in which he kept his flock. Armed with his shotgun and with his two dogs, he set out into the wood to dispose of these “Mutts” as he called them. Cait stayed close to her master’s side but Ben, being the more adventurous and daring of the pair, ran on ahead despite his master’s calling. Unfortunately, Ben was attacked by a German Shepherd where he was bitten on his back. By the time Cait and his master appeared on the scene, the German Shepherd had disappeared and Ben had collapsed from shock (if dogs can do that. I’m not so sure *shrugs* ).

Mr Davies called the vet out straight away to take a look at Ben who was patched up and told to rest. Fearful for both dogs, Mr Davies placed them both inside separate cages (you know those ones you can get for dogs? ) to keep an eye on them. A few days later, Cait began to notice a difference with her brother. He seemed more irritable and would twitch randomly in his sleep. A week later, Mr Davies decided that the sheep needed to be moved into the next field so put both dogs to work. Cait was worried about Ben as he seemed to be acting rather oddly and his eyes seemed rather bloodshot, but this had gone unnoticed by her master. Once Ben had been let off the lease, he ignored all commands and Cait watched in horror as he attacked one of the sheep. She then heard a loud roaring noise and watched as her brother dropped like a stone. It was then that she realised that her master had shot and killed Ben.

Cait was confused about what had happened and was also afraid of what would happen to her. Her master had also become fearful and tied Cait up outside where she now remains. Her master now has little to do with her, except feed her, and does not use her to herd sheep for fear that she will also attack one of his flock.

Caitis now fearful, paranoid and longs for things to be back to the way they were.

Anything Else?: Cait does not know any of her other brothers and sisters and the farm she is located on is just outside of the small town.

And I'll post tommorow after Uni XD

Sorry for the double post here but may I make a suggestion? Should we keep it to 5 posts a day per person? That's what I did on an old RP of mine and it helped people to not get lost/left behind and allowed others to follow it so they were able to join. What do you think?

Okay, I got thinking about things while I was attempting to go to sleep. So I shall attempt it.

Character Name [including a.k.a.s]: Toby (on the spot decision :P)
Character Age: 1 year and 3 months
Character Lifestage: Young Adult
Character Gender: Neutered Male
Character Species: Dog
Character Breed: Bernese Mountain Dog
Character Size: Rather large dog
Character Build: Stocky
Character Coat, Colouration And Markings: Black, red, white... usual Mountain dog colours.
Character Scent (not like perfume! How does your character smell to other dogs?): A sort of comforting house loft smell.
Physical Description Of Character: Gentle looking but with a little more suspicion in his look than the usual dog of this breed. Lots of fur and quite a stocky build, but not fat.
Character Voice: Slightly gruff and low 'neutral' English accent.
Character Personality: A welcoming, genuine sort. As mentioned, he can be a little suspicious at times and is generally sensible. Although he can be very silly when he's allowed!
Character Skills And Attributes: Trustworthy and you know what you're getting with him - straightforward; no dishonesty. As large, stocky dog he has useful strength and can appear threatening to some smaller animals and people.

Character Past History: Nothing to unsual to start: Toby was born in a city in England and a few weeks later went home with a kindly, 30-something man. The man lived in the countryside, far from many houses; however, due to the nature of his work, he was required to leave the country for several months, taking Toby with him. Once the pandemic was beginning to spread further, being in the far countryside and then abroad, Toby was not really aware of any problems. The master heard and was glad for the timing of the work abroad and was keen to keep Toby away. Obviously dogs sense something amiss, but he never knew enough to be really concerned. When they finally had to return home, his owner was very keen to keep Toby indoors in their countryside home. A big dog, Toby wanted to be outside again, despite his senses telling him something was very wrong. The master started getting very concerned. People were ringing him saying the risks a dog going abroad was at that timeand that he, even though a puppy kept indoors a lot, could have spread it overseas, and being out and about at the time, or at the airport he could have caught the pandemic. The master assured them he seemed fine, but those 'authorative in the matter' declared they would come around and check, and possibly take the dog away... When the men came, Toby knew he had reason to be alarmed. "Come here, doggy" they said, not too friendly. Their clothing was protective but quite a fright for the dog. One came forward with a syringe (tranquiliser), the other bringing forth a cage. Normally a friendly dog, his caution and fear got the best of him. Turning once to his clearly upset master, he made the decision to bolt. These strange men had left the front door open. He made a dash for it.
Anything Else?: I haven't properly read all the details for everyone's characters so apologies if any of the information crosses over with your own story - no copying intended!

Most of that on the spot. Went on a bit. XD But it's something.

Sorry for the delay Tsuki! In reply to your post, I agree that a sensible limit is worthwhile and that 5 posts seems as good a number as any-it takes a fair while to write a thought out post so five is probably more than enough. If we made this a sort of rule though would it be worth having a waver for incidences when two characters have gone off on their own and want to interact?

Oooh, mountain dog character! Nice ^_^

Yay for Fran! Interesting character :D.

Thorn- No problem! I know you've been busy (as have I hence the lack of replies in the RP). I'm glad you agree and as for the incident you described, I think it should be kept the same otherwise you may get pages and pages of characters just talking to each other and other people may have to trawl back to see what they put last. Or maybe make the post count up to 8? I mean if we aren't doing one liners (Thank God!), then people may have enough to say in 5 posts. But then that's just me.

Quick notification of absence-for the next week I have a guest staying with me, plus work, so likelihood of being online is lesser. I therefore give free reign of Chuck to everyone while Im not about so that no ones character (am thinking particularly of Torns Cypher) has to hang about waiting. I will try and get online and reply when I can but any posts are likely to be a bit short in comparison to my usual waffle!

Character Name [including a.k.a.s]: Juan
Character Age: 1 year and 4 months
Character Lifestage Young Adult
Character Gender: Male
Character Species: Canine
Character Breed: Doberman Shepherd
Character Build: Slim
Character Coat, Colouration And Markings: Black with brown markings (like the typical Doberman colours)
Character Scent: A bit like gunpowder kind of smell :P want to make him a bit "bad" as they look "bad" too lol
Physical Description Of Character: Nice black fur with brown markings on the paws, belly, and head. He looks a bit agressive but he is kindhearted and gentle on the inside. (I'll post a pic at home cause I'm at work atm)
Character Voice: Typical American street voice
Character Personality: Kindhearted and gentle on the inside but tries to hide it by looking like a bad dog.
Character Skills And Attributes: Open minded but knows what he wants. Will stick to his own ideas but doesn't mind joining others. He is fast and has a good vision and hearing. He can hear and see things from far away.
Character Past History: Juan was born and raised in America. When he was still a newborn puppy, a nice small family came by and took Juan home from his nest. There he got to meet two lovely and playfull kids. He enjoyed the nice moments playing ball with the kids in the garden, going for long walks, playing in the park, etc.. When Juan turned 1 the kids threw a little birthday party for him. They really love their dog and told their parents that Juan was the best gift they could ever get.

A bit later they left for a trip to the UK and took Juan along with them. They've had some nice moments together untill Eric (the father of the family) saw a newsflash popping up the screen of the tv. News about a pandemic virus on dogs came through, flashes of scared people came by and suddenly it felt as the world stood still for a moment. Eric was shocked hearing the news and tried getting back to his senses. He then saw the kids playing happily with Juan just outside their little rented house. After talking to his wife, Eric decided they should get rid of Juan as they were afraid the virus might already have infected him and he could turn berserk and attack their own kids.. Eric and his wife didn't want anything to happen with their own kids so they decided they should tell the kids and find a way to let go of Juan.

The kids were crying as they did not want to let go of Juan and their parents tried to explain the whole situation. The kids did not want Juan to be put asleep so Eric tried to find a different way for Juan to keep on living, yet not with them. A while later he decided they should set him free, afterall Eric wasn't sure if it already affected Juan so killing him was not an option. The family waved their goodbyes as they set free Juan near a field a bit away from the presence of humans.

Juan was aware of the whole situation.. Though he has not been infected, he felt all the stress around him and was capable of hearing all the conversations of the family to know as to why they left him here. And as of this moment Juan lives by himself on the streets and near the field were they once left him. The family has long gone back to America by now. Juan refused to be presented as a stray dog and kept his hopes up high to find something to live for. Life on the streets made him a "bad dog" but thanks to his agressive behaviour he manages to survive. His motto: The strongest will survive!

Hope this is somewhat a good character sheet :P
