I'm not sure how many people here likes Koge-Donbo or even heard of her, but anyway I wanted to create a topic to talk about my favourite Manga artist. (I know most people think CLAMP is my favourite, but they are my 2nd after Koge-Donbo, although I prefer the storyling in CLAMP's manga's alot more) Koge-Donbo's works include Di Gi Charat ~ Di Gi Charat is about a little girl called Dejiko (also known as Di Gi Charat that works in a store called "Gamers" along with Puchiko (also known as Petite Charat), then all of a sudden a girl called Rabi~en~rose came to work in the same store as her and became rivals with Dejiko. At the same time a little cute, yet evil Panda girl named Piyoko (aslo known as Pyocola Analogue III) tries to kidnap Dejiko. In my opinion the Manga and Anime isn't at all that good, but the artwork is so great and full of kawaii-ness. There are quite alot of volumes and series within the manga and most of whats in there consists of short stories by different artists. (Koge-Donbo is the original artist and creator, but there are loads of other artists creating Di Gi Charat mangas aswell) If your are thinking of buying the English Manga, then I'll warn you "VIZ" are totally rubbish at translating, so buy the mangas published by "Broccoli" Pita-Ten ~ This is about a boy named Kotarou Higuchi who tries his best to study for his exams, then one day a girl called Misha moves in next door and kinda like stalks him lol. The Manga and Anime is alot better then Di Gi Charat, but I must say the Anime is still abit poor compared to the Manga. And another thing about the Manga is that the Pita-Ten official fan book is not very good, so I recommend getting the original 8 volumes Kamichama Karin ~ I have only read 1 volume of the manga, so I don't know alot about the series, but the overall manga looks great and kawaii and probably one of my favourites. Also Kamichama Karin is Koge-Donbo's 1st Shoujo (Alot of people think that Di Gi Charat and Pita-Ten is a Shoujo, but they are wrong)I'm looking forward buying the rest of the manga series and theres no Anime series yet, but I shall be looking forward to it whenever it's going to be annouced, though I'm hoping it won;t be a dissapoint like the Di Gi Charat and Pita-Ten Anime series. A Little Snow Fairy Sugar ~ I brought this Manga from the London Expo in Oct, but never had a chance to read it because I got on time T_T, so I couldn't really comment about the series, but as far as I know, Koge-Donbo is the character designer/illustrater of the series and not the actual creator. Yoki Koto Kiku ~ This was released in English on October 2006, but I never had the chance to get the Manga since my Manga shops never seem to re-stock it >.<" Some of her other works that I have never mentioned above include Sumo Oh, Koi-Hime Soshi, Kon-Kon Kokon, Chocola (the series was only in an artbook), Aquarian Age (she was the illustator) and Princess Concerto (character design) So let the discussion of Koge-Donbo begin  |

Would love to discuss, buuut I haven't read or seen any of her series yet :ph43r:. But my computer will probably be fixed this weekend *crosses fingers*, so that means I can start downloading things, yey! ^^ Does anyone know where I can download her series? Can't afford buying any manga or anime atm >,< Edit: Tried to Google her, and found this: Moonless Night, I know there are some Harry Potter fans here, so enjoy ^^ |

Well, as you already know I haven't read any of her work. All I've seen is a little of the Di Gi Charat anime, and those episodes were a bit too short and random for me, really. lol I do think that her artwork is very beautiful, though. I love her use of lighting. It gives her illustrations a very elegantly reflective and delicate feel to them. Very pretty and very Shoujo. Those Harry Potter pictures are great. I never knew she did them. ( Is it just me or is her Draco Malfoy the spitting image of Final Fantasy VII's Rufus Shinra? ) XD |

I agree that the Anime is hort and random, so thats why I don't like the Anime much. The Manga is also short and random, but one of the best Di Gi Charat mangas that follows a great story line is "Dejiko's adventure"
Her works are really pretty indeed and very famous for the kawaii-ness she puts into her characters almost all of the works and mangas are Shonen and alot of people think they are Shoujo (even me lol), but the only Shoujo manga she did was Kamichama Karin.
Koge-Donbo is a massive Harry Potter fan and she has made some Harry Potter Doujinshi's. She has actually added kawaii-ness into the Harry Potter characters lol. |

I have now read volume 1 of A Little Snow Fairy Sugar, so I guess I'll add something to the description above A Little Snow Fairy Sugar is about a girl named Saga, she met a fairy called Sugar who was a fairy that suppose to create snow weather. The weird thing is that Saga was the only girl who can see Sugar and one day she feed Sugar with some waffles and then Sugar has now became Saga's pal. During the Manga Sugar goes around searching for twinkles, which is something that helps her plant grows. Overall I think the artwork is beautiful and cute, but the story isn't really good. There were loads of plots were Saga argues with Sugar, then they split up and make up again, kinda weird eh? |
