| Well I know that some of you have seen the anime series, but what do people think of the manga? Anyone read it? |

I've read it up to vol.6. Even though the Anime was before the manga I personally like the manga better, though I maybe a little biased on this opinion since I always loved manga way better then Anime. The manga does follow the Anime very well and I love the gorgeous artwork. Also what the heck is going on with the releases of the Manga???? When is the next volume coming out? I have also read the first volume of Angelic Days and it's kinda different from the original Evangelion. The story is okay, but I didn't like the artwork since the style is different from the originals. I almost never recongised Rei because she looked alot different and plus her personality is different too (Don't know why her school uniform is different here). She is more like the quiet and calm type in the original, but in Angelic Days, she seems to be more cheerful and more open. I know the Asuka fans will not like me for saying this *looks at Shinji-kun in particular*, but I really HATE Asuka's personality, she bitches around too much and is like the bossy type. That girl needs to calm down lol |

RE: Angelic Days: Ah, there's a reason that the personalities ( most obviously Rei's ) are different in Angelic Days. Remember that section in the final episode where Misato is the teacher, Rei is the exchange student who was late for class, Shinji was a bit more outgoing, and Asuka was the childhood friend? And this was all being presented to Shinji as one of many realities that could have been? Angelic Days is all about exploring that particular alternate reality. ( you'll notice Rei's uniform was from that scene, as well ) ^^ I think that this is a really interesting concept as something that could tie in with the original Eva series and has a lot of potential, but unfortunately Angelic Days is... * tries to put it constructively * ...really poor. >_< Although I do appreciate that any manga-ka puts a hell of a lot of time and effort into doing any manga title, I gotta say that I don't like the art-work either. Not particularly just the style, but the proportions are often way off. And the story doesn't flow as well as Sadamoto's work, either. It's a shame, because if Sadamoto had been the manga-ka for this I'm sure that it would be absolutely brilliant and among my favourite manga titles, as his art is fantastic and he really knows how to tell and pace a good story. ( I bought the second volume of Angelic Days several months ago, and I haven't even taken it out of the plastic wrapping yet! I WILL read it eventually. ) lol RE: Original Evangelion Manga: I guess I couldn't really pick between the original anime and the manga. I think they're both equally great. There are quite a few scenes that have been done differently in the manga ( such as Asuka being introduced in a completely different way in an amusement arcade, and Kaowru actually taking part in an angel battle ). And I know what you mean about the releases. I have all of the volumes that are available over here so far, and they just seem to have stopped after volume 9. T_T I have seen some untranslated pages of just after where volume 9 left off, so as far as I know there should be some more to come, but as to a 10th volume ever actually getting released over here I've kind of given up expecting it. Which sucks because I was really looking forward to seeing if Sadamoto would make up his own interpertations of how things end with Kaowru, and what happens during the Third Impact... |

I see, I never really payed much attention to the last 2 episodes of Evangelion, so I can't remember much about the section where Misato's the teacher, I guess I need to watch those 2 episodes again and pay more attention this time round. It's cool to see the next volume of the manga finally being released, although I still haven't got vol.6 yet, I still need to catch up but my manga shop seems to never re-stock the Eva mangas

Well if you really want the other Eva volumes or if there's any other titles you particularly want but can't find, then don't forget that that site takes advance orders which can be collected and paid for at the events they are attending. So if you want anything from them just fill out the order page as you usually would, but type into the comments box that you would like to pick it up at May's Expo or at AmeCon or whichever, and then just go over to their stall on the day to grab your order. They have a list of all the events they'll be at on their home page. ( And this way is also good because you obviously don't have to pay the postage and packaging they usually charge ) p.s: Hmmm... still haven't read that second volume of Angelic Days. lol I wanted something new to read the other day and totally forgot I had it! |

I just placed the order today (I did try to place the order about a week ago but the site clashed >.<"), so I'm looking forward to reading vol.6 onwards, though I have a month to kill before I can read any mangas. I haven't even brought the 2nd volume of Angelic days. I saw the 2nd volume at both of my manga shops and in Coventry's Forbidden Planet, but never brought it because there are so many mangas that I want right now, but I just couldn't afford them all. |

Cool. Volume 6 is quite... intense... :ph43r: There are way too many manga on there that I want as well. I'll probably split it and get half of what I want at LAC and the rest at the Expo. I'm still really eager to get volume 10 of Eva. ^^ Well, I have now read that second volume of Angelic Days. I think they've improved at drawing Rei, and the Eva's made their first proper appearance and didn't look too bad, but that's about it really. The other characters still look kind of off >.< |

Lucky you, but you know theres alwayys a chance for me to *coughstealcough* .... (joke) I haven't got volume 10 because I don't have vol 9, I'm kinda slow on collecting mangas these days. I still haven't read volume 6 even though I collected my order from the Expo 3 weeks ago. I should be reading it soon, but I'm so busy this month. Fristly I have to tidy my rooms because my relatives from Canada are coming over, secondly I need to finish my cosplay costumes in time for the AmeCon and Expos, thirdly I need to make time to hang out with my school/college/uni friends and lastly I have a family full of distractions! |

So it seems that volume 11 is now out in Japan so it must be only a matter of time before we see an english release
And I love the new cover image. The whole arrangement with Kaworu, the SEELE box, Lilith and the wings is really nice ^^ ![]() I've also found out about another spin-off manga called '' Neon Genesis Evangelion Ikari Shinji Ikusei Keikaku ''. It's based on the character-raising games that were released in Japan, so it seems that it's very similar in premise to Angelic Days, except that I think this one actually looks quite promising. The panels flow well and the art is good, so I hope we get to see it over here. You can read more about it here. |
