Romeo x Juliet

Has anyone been watching Romeo and Juliet? It's surprisingly good, I didn't think an anime version would be any good as the original play lacked the kind of action and drama one come to expect from an anime. They've done quite well though, adapting it into an anime without changing the main aspect of the story, though this anime version also has the Capulets in hiding waiting for a time to overthrow the Montagues. They've also created characters that weren't in the original play aswell as Willy (well, use your head ;)) who is kind of like Juliet's agony aunt XD On the whole is a very different but fresh look at the story yet manages to retain the charm that has made Shakespeare's plays what they are today. Not to mention the OP is beautiful ^^

I stumbled across the opening sequence of this on YouTube several weeks ago, and it was just ''WOW!''. In fact it was so damn beautiful that I had to go and watch the first episode straight away.

Anyway it was a really nice episode, and I love all the pastel colours and those lovely flying horse/dragon things. Looks like it's going to be a really touching series.
(dreads the tragic ending)

I haven't been able to find episode 2 onwards, though >_<
Any help?

Yeah, the flying horse (Pegasi) are cool ^^ And it is, every episode so far (5 of them) has had it's own heart-wrenching scene. And I totally dread the ending too, but hey wouldn't the story of Romeo and Juliet still be a great story with a happy ending? *optimist* XD

I dunno about online I DL all my anime, Shinsen subs are working on it but they are being slow and are only on ep 2, so I'm DL from Umai fansubs, all the episodes are in .MKV though, which is almost twice the size of .AVI >.>

They may indeed. Just watched episode 6 which was sad :( (save for one funny bit with Franscisco XD). but they had to goan introduce a new character right at the end, so we know nothing about him XD Argh, cliff-hangers, it's such a love-hate thing XD

Well I have still to catch up on those episodes, but I think I can guess what the sad scene might have been from when I had to study Romeo and Juliet in English class.

( gawd, how long ago was that now?! )

Well, I finally managed to find episode 2 over at Veoh.

Very nice episode. I especially liked the scenes in the iris field and the graveyard at the end. And I kind of expected that the kid already knew about Odin XD

The show totally rocks. I agree with Mysterious Fayth, Tybalt is the man. I really like the graphic style and the fight scenes. The whole tree thing is intriguing. Any ideas where they are going to go with it?

It is awesome indeed *points at avatar and coughs*^^ I actually think that they are going to have to *sigh* die and that their love will go to save the tree and Neo Verona. That woud be where it looks like it's going. I dunno, though, as I have a tendency to be wrong XD Wasn't sure what you all thought though^^

Amazing avi, where did you get it? Sad, but I think you are right. It makes total sense. Hopefully they will hold off for a while on that.

OH, the DVD comes out July 27th.

Love this anime, eventhough I am usually a Shakespeare purist. The whole Odin/Juliet twist was great. I also love the detail put into the design of neo Verona

Watched episode 10 last night.

"Romeo, Romeo, where art thou?"

Yes they have put the balcony scene in =D I was wondering when it would make an appearance.
