Oh the wonders of Terry Brooks. He is the one responsible for getting me interested in Fantasy in the first place. {Its all his fault} With Terry Brooks there are two different places one can start. The Sword of Shannara or the Landover Series. The Landover Series starts with a great bang in the first book: Magic Kingdom For Sale - Sold! This book by itself is worth the read in a hilarious laugh out loud kind of way. Its about a very sad man named Ben Holiday who sees and advertisement "Magic Kingdom For Sale". Its Chrismas and he was board. Like so many of us here at LoS.;) Needless to say boredom gets him into unexpected places. This fantastic book is a great start. However I will admit that I did get board with it after the third book and was content not to read further. So anyone out there have anything to add I haven't spoken to many people who have read it so it would be great to hear another opinion on the series. The Landover Series • Magic Kingdom for Sale–Sold! • The Black Unicorn • Wizard At Large • The Tangle Box • Witches' Brew • Book Six Untitled (forthcoming September 2009) |
