Sexy Voice and Robo; ( no, it's nothing xxx-rated! )

Well I've mentioned this J-Drama somewhere already, so I thought I'd better make a topic on it because it really is a brilliant show and well worth watching ^^

It follows the exploits of a young girl called Niko and a twenty-something mecha otaku nick-named Robo. It's an episodic comedy in which they get dragged into different and bizarre situations, and it always ends up being up to Niko and Robo to resolve things.

Niko has the unique skill of super-sensitive hearing and being able to recognise a person's voice after only hearing them speak once. She can also impersonate voices as well ( even guys' voices, too. XD ). This is where the name '' Sexy Voice '' comes from, though no-one ever addresses her by that nick-name in the show. They always just call her Niko.

Robo is... well... a total mecha otaku. He loves a robot anime called '' Max Robo '' and his apartment is packed with mecha figurines ( I spotted an Eva Unit 01 and Unit 02 at one point. XD ). Niko is the sensible and mature one while Robo runs around like a big kid getting his toy robot stuck up lamp-posts, and shouting things like '' Max Robo! '', '' Max Punch! '' and '' Max Overtake! '' ( the last one being while he's driving his odd and quirky car ).

Other important characters include the boss of the local antique store who often asks them to help in each situation or is usually involved in some way, and her comical assistant Yocchan. Niko's family members are also usually included with their own secondary stories in each episode, too.

It's a very funny and often surreal show, but each episode has a deeper theme and meaning running through it, such as family, life being a series of meetings and partings or speaking out when you can't. It's a really funny comedy that also really makes you think ^_^

For more info check out this review, which I think pretty much covers it.

Click here if you want to watch episode one.

There's also this fan-made music vid I found.
