Yup!
I bought and read the first 2 volumes of the manga several months ago. Tbh I didn't really get into the manga version that much, and I thought that they kept repeating the explanation about the Day and Night Classes a bit too often in those volumes. I also thought that some of the characters ( mainly the supporting vampires ) were a bit too samey-looking and a little awkward to tell apart at times. But I was looking forward to seeing the anime version of Vampire Knight, because the manga of Ouran Host Club has a similar problem where some of the characters are drawn to look too similar at times and I REALLY love the Ouran anime, so I thought I'd see if it was the same with Vampire Knight. Anyway, so far I'm enjoying it ^^ Episode 3 was probably the one that started to reel me in. The scene with the Level E vampires was really good and made a strong impression. And it wasn't in the manga either ( unless it's a scene that they've brought forward in the time-line ), so it was a really nice addition. Obviously the characters look a lot more distinctive and individual than in the manga because they're in colour. And I love the vibrant colours they use for the vampires' eyes *_* Actually I love the style of the characters a lot more in the anime than in the manga. The drawings are really crisp and fresh, and I think that the characters all look a lot more expressive. ( lol From other comments I've read online I seem to be in the minority of preferring the anime art over the manga art, though X3 ) Anyway, I love the opening theme tune. I've yet to have found a full-length version of it. It reminds me a little of Nightmare. And another plus point for me is that Miyano Mamoru is in it. He voices Zero, though I almost mistook Kaname for being voiced by him at first. I would have actually expected he'd be more suited to being cast as Kaname, but he does do a good job of Zero. ( lol Excuse the long post. I haven't had the opportunity to discuss this series with anyone else who's watched it yet )

I actually like the long posts, all the more to discuss back. I agree with you, I like the anime drawing over the manga. It is less drastic and to me much more fluid. As for the plot, I love anything Vampire related so the redundancy didn't bother me much. I was however impressed with the heirarchy concept and the issue over whose responsiblity it becomes to monitor the Level Es. Until recently I wasn't really looking into who voiced the japanese versions. I was more proficient at picking out the Oceans Group actors like Jonny Yong Bousch. I have recently though started to look into the japanese voicing and been able to distinguish a few. I have yet to watch an anime where I felt that the voice didn't suit the character but I can't say that about the dubbed versions though. I hated the voice they used for Dark in the dubbed DN Angel I have still doll and got it off of Limewire. I will look for the Opening theme and see if I can find it. |

Ah, that's good then. I love a good anime discussion I tend to like to talk about these things in-depth and I don't want to bore anyone XD It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who prefers the anime art to the manga art. I actually don't know a huge range of seiyuus either, I only really know a handful. The reason that Miyano Mamoru stands out for me is that he's my favourite seiyuu. He was so hilarious and hyper as Tamaki in Ouran Host Club and that's what made me a fan. Then he was also in the very next series I started watching after that - as Light Yagami. It was funny seeing him go from being a hyper comedy-nut to being the calm and calculating Light. It shows that he can play more than one type of character ( though I couldn't help but hear Light as Tamaki when he was putting on his fake happy voice when talking to Naomi XD ). As far as I know I actually first heard him as Kiba in Wolf's Rain a few years ago, but Kiba is a '' man-of-few-words '' type so I never really remembered his voice at the time seeing as he never had many lines. He's also a really nice singer. He's sung songs such as Guilty Beauty Love, Kunau Nara, Mata Ashita, Tip-top Shape, Mermaid, Kuon, Itsuka, Atatakai Kiza ni Tsutsumarete, Hare and Fight. If you want to check them out you can find them floating around YouTube. ( I just found this video where he's singing different anime tunes. Cruel Angel's Thesis is really funny! I wouldn't judge his singing on this though, because he's obviously singing badly on purpose! ) I usually prefer subs over dubs too, but there are a couple of cases where I didn't think that the Japanese voices were quite right for the character. I prefer the American voice for Yuki Sohma in Fruits Basket over the female and too feminine voice they originally used for him. I also watched the first episode of Hikaru no Go recently and having read the first few volumes of the manga I never expected Hikaru's voice to have the kind of squeaky sound it has. Ah, Dark is voiced by Vic Mignogna. He's actually my fave American VA. X3 Personally I think he suits Dark's character ( Heh heh. Don't shoot me! ). Having said that I haven't really watched much of D.N Angel. I did get '' kidnapped '' by some Expo friends recently and we ended up watching the first few episodes, but we ended up watching sooo much stuff that I ended up not paying that much attention to D.N Angel when it was on. Anyway, I love Vic's singing too. He was at one of the Expos last year and I bought his CD. |

I searched high and low and can't find a way to get the full version of Futatsu no Kodou to Akai Tsumi by On/Off. I got the TV size version at 2:12 off of limewire. I also found On/Off s official site and they are twins. One of their other songs is the end theme for a live action show they star in. From what I am guessing since so many people posted asking for it, the full version might not be out yet but i will keep looking, I really like the song. The difference between Tamaki and Light is polar, that takes real talent to pull both of those off so amazingly. I remember Kiba but I only saw a few of Wolf's Rain in Japanese. I mostly watched the dubbed version. There is a certain grit and(I know I am going to get myself in trouble with this statement) sexuality in Ryôtarô Okiayu voice that made Dark rougish and dashing. Same with Tybalt in RXJ, which he also played, it was more manly. Thats just my thought though. I do agree that Vic is amazing, just his body of work is outstanding. I like Monica Rial too, she is amazing. As Sakura in Tsubasa she portrays her with the balance of fragility and deep strength that is so the essence of Sakura. And Anime discussing will never bore me. Feel free to go on for hours lol I was on a couple of the forums looking for the song and I have to say there are some really strong shippers around. I rarely ship(except in the case of Harry and Ginny)but shipper wars can be amusing to watch from the sidelines. Oh and I looked up some of what you suggested on Youtube and you are correct he is a really good singer. It is amazing how many Japanese triple threats there are. |

I didn't know that Dark and Tybalt had the same seiyuu. I'll have to listen out for that the next time I watch any D.N Angel. And I've been wanting to see the english dub of Wolf's Rain but haven't yet got round to it. The most I've heard of the dub version is a little bit of episode 1 or 2 that they screened at one of the Expos once and a fan-made trailer I saw on YouTube. I've only watched the first few episodes of Tsubasa in dub and I actually thought that the VA who voiced Tomoyo would be better suited to Sakura because her voice was softer and gentler. Monica's came across as a little hoarse to me. But Monica is awesome. She's such a fun person and always makes time to chat to us random fans at anime conventions. This year's AmeCon will be the 4th time I've met her.And thanks for letting me know the release date of Futatsu no Kodou to Akai Tsumi. I'll be looking out for it. I've since had a listen to their other song as well. Which volume of the Vampire Knight manga are you up to? I get the impression that you're further on in the story than I am. |

Started watching today, on episode 5, hooked. Discussed. Hehe, i'm really liking it so I'm glad I decided to watch the first episode over dinner, watching 2 to 5 wasn't planned, but I needed the break in studying anyway XD Lot's of cool characters in this, I love them all, though not sure about Kaname, I just know he's not as 'nice' as he's making himself out to be XD. |

Well I have heard something about Kaname... And yes, I do wonder what he's up to, too. Just watched episode 6. Awww, chibi Zero was cute It's getting close to over-taking where I've read up to in the manga, so it will be all-new material for me soon. |

Zero is honto kawaii as a little boy. I love the Chairman. I love how even the most serious of animes requires the injection of humor. I agree about the characters, they are all very interesting. Kaname up to something? Why would a pureblood Vampire who is unusually nice to a human, he doesn't eat from, be up to something? |

I've finally caught up with the released episodes so now I dare to enter this topic without having to fear spoilers XD ..Not that that was necessary, as there weren't anyone XD I love this series! But it has vampires in it, so I was positive to it to begin with :3 But I like the way they portray the vampires; the differences between full-blood ones and the Level Es, the responsibility the full bloods have, and so on. Hehe, the Chairman is great! Characters like him seldom ends up on my favourites list, they're usually too hyper and silly for my liking. But series like this one needs characters like him to avoid getting too dark and serious. I've got problems remembering Idol-senpai's name... I keep thinking of him as Honey-senpai.... XD |

Watched it when I ate dinner earlier tonight. There's nothing like watching vampires while eating! XD About the episode.. Hmm... What to say.. It was good to get some background information on the characters. I'm not usually a fan of flashback episodes, especially when there's so many in one episode. But I think they did pretty well in this case. ^^ Loved this scene: ![]() "Kaname-kun! Kaname-kun! Trouble! Look!" "Kaname-kun is broken!" XD Nice to see that side of Kaname ^^ |

| For a backstory episode it was better than most. I do agree that scene was one of my favorites. It shows you just how much Kaname feels for Yuki. The episode also shows the a little bit of how much both Kaname and Zero are attached to Yuki and how much they put aside for her. |

I can't help but always think of Hikaru and Kaworu whenever I see Idol and Wild. They both look fairly similar to them to me. lol Anyway I've caught up on episodes 7 and 8, and I've gotta agree that I did like seeing a more human side to Kaname as well. It was kinda odd to see him laughing and acting natural. X3 And I'm looking forward to seeing the new character they showed briefly at the end of the last episode. ( I already know what her name is because I read a blog on the episode. XD ) Edited by Tsuchinoko, Jun 3 2008, 07:27 PM.
