Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni; EVERYONE...MUST...WATCH!

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni aka "When the Cicadas Cry" or "When they Cry: Higurashi" is simply amazing.

There are four question arcs and answer arcs that go with them spread over the first series and Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni: Kai (Kai = Release).

It starts off seeming like just any "teenager surrounded by young girls" animé, but that last the first episode only. Murders, Gore, Violence, Insanity, more than a few WTF moments, some incredible mysteries and the most insane laugh you have ever heard...

I don't want to say too much because the plot is deep and saying almost anything will spoil the series LOL

PLEASE, if you haven't watched this, at least give it a try!

I've gotta warn you on two things. There can be MUCH violence at times, and also, the plot is non-linear so you jump around a bit. You'll see LOL

It goes from Cute

To Insane!

(Don't worry, there are no spoilers, at least, nothing you'd understand LOL)

I keep meaning to finish series one.
I was part-way through the arc about the blonde girl.
Will get around to it eventually.

Anyway, I absolutely love '' Naraku no Hana '' the opening theme for the second season.

I've seen Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. But I never got why everyone is so hyped up about it XD I got a bit bored when the story just kept repeating itself without giving me any proper explanations. I've heard that Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai will provide them, but I don't know if I can be bothered to watch another 26(?) episodes if the second season is like the first one XD

Love the music though, have to look for the OST at some point! ^_^

What she said ^^

Higurashi had me on the verge of destroy-mode, I didn't just annoy me when it started repeating itself over and over again without offereing so much as half an explanation, it royally ticked me off. That said, I enjoyed it at times but it's going to be a while before I gather the patience to sit through Kai. But yes, OST was cool ^^

But...but...the last two arcs explain MOST of the story!

The reason it was done like that is because it's based on games. They had games that went together "Question" and "Answer" sides ^_^'

Nah, they loooked like they were going to explain it, then fcks'd it up with more questions XD

Yeah I heard it was based on a game, however, unlike the gam in an anime we are just spectators, we don't get a choise when the characters come to forrls in the road so to speak. The game would be easier to understand as each action you took would only have one outcome each time, it wouldn't be like..."woah I did this, but TWO possible consequences occurred at the same time. So...that's alternate universes right?" Uh...no thanks. IMO, the anime failed to do what it tried if this was indeed what it tried to do XD
