PANTHAYAKOZHI 2007 (FIRST ON NET) Posted Image Director: MA Venuu Music: Alex Paul Lyrics: Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma
Casts:
Narein, Pooja, Cochin Haneefa, Indrans, Sudheesh, Sreejith Ravi, Anoop Chandran, Geetha, Rami Reddy, Lal, Janardhanan, Ramya Nambeeshan, Manka Mahesh, Rajan.P.Dev, Anil Murali, Abu Salim
Lal Creations’ Vishu offering Pandhaya Kozhi belongs only to Narain, who after many acquaintances in Tamil has matured into a dependable actor.
In the film he creates laughter, he spreads innocence, cries louder and throw his legs to a couple of dances and make some best fight sequences. What more do you expect to honor him as a convincing hero?
Pandhaya Kozhi is all about a young man, Nandagopal played by Narain who is flocked around by a lot of problems and responsibilities.
Living in the mercy of his cruel uncle played by Janardhanan, with his mother and mute sister, often fall as victims to the bad mouth of the Uncle's family. He has got a group of friends (Sudhish, Sreejit Ravi and AnoopChandran) who are ready to sacrifice anything for their friendship.
One fine day they come to know from their family friend Abdur Haaji (Madhu), who is going for haj pilgrimage that year, about their late father Raghavan (Lal) who was a forest officer, owning a big bungalow in Kalimuthupalayam, a Tamil Nadu village.
Nandhu finds the selling of this bungalow, as a way to tide over their financial difficulties. But things are not going to be easy for him in Tamil Nadu, as from the day one, he has to confront with the Nachiappa Gowder (Raami Reddy) a monstrous local leader who is behind him in all ways, for reasons he don't know.
Nandagopal, in the village at first gets into fight with a village girl Chembakam (Pooja) with whom, as expected, he is to fall in love.As he brings in his mother and sister to the village, they also falls prey to Gowder's anger. But Nandhu only knows in the very later half that all this cruelty of Gowder towards his family was only a part of enmity that roots back to decades.
The highlight of the film is that the pace of narration is good and the events move faster not to get you bored. .
Narain made a convincing performance. Pooja in her Malayalam debut excels in a role that is Tailor made ala Tamil movies and gains accolades. Geetha as the mother is in her regular stuff while Ramya Nambeesan as the dumb sister appears a lot but with little effect.
The film has a bunch of good songs choreographed and visualized effectively by Venugopal. Of which the tunes of Sundariye Sankadathinu and Karimpanayaude by Alex Paul are already in the hit charts
