I actually like the Crystal Game. You have a lot more stuff to do in it like the first Battle Tower in Olivine City. And you get to capture one of the legendary beasts!

Yankee, you get to capture all three of the legendary beasts, in all three of the second gen games. Furthermore, you can catch one o fthem in FR/LG. It's just Crystal makes it easier to catch Suicune.

It should be perfectly obvious to anyone and everyone that my vote lies with Celebi. Not only is it so cute in the movie, and more, but it can time travel...I find time travel fascinating...as if you couldn't tell by my Rangers fics... Although I am annoyed that I've never been able to have one...but again, I've got a card for it...a very cool card, at that, its attack pwns...plus I can use it...

Anyway, Celebi rocks.

I know...

But it's a pain in the butt to catch them.

CELEBI YAY! Such a cute little jade thing with blue wings. In my world, she's a girl and likes Manaphy, who's a guy. xP You really gotta wonder what happens now that Dialga has time.

Though I really like Lugia and Ho-oh. In my little world, Lugia's a girl and the Lady of Death. Ho-oh's a guy and the phoenix of rebirth.

They're weird.

And Suicune is cool too. xD

Kinda mean to Entei and Raikou...they're pretty cool too...and Raikou's never really had much exposure anime-wise, apart from cameos he's only appeared in the Legend of Thunder in Chronicles...and you guys have had that for, what, a couple of months? Still can't believe we got something to do with Pokémon years before you guys...plus you can get it on DVD here, but not where you are...mind you, you can get regular episodes on DVD...

While I casting my vote for Celibi, I wish they could create a game where a trainer just starting out encounters Celibi and is thrown back in time. That would be cool.

I'm not sure I ought to leave these stickied when this seems less to be a discussion thread than a "which legendary do you like?" thread... which is hopelessly banal, and we don't really need so many of anyway @_@

That said, Gold/Silver/Crystal would probably be my... well; either my favourite or least favourite game, for a variety of reasons. I did like whomping Ash with a zero-strategy game, though. Proved a point, even if it was pathetic.

Tidbit time: Goldenrod City is not only the largest city in Johto, but in fact the largest city in the known pokémon world.

On another note, Antarctica is the largest desert in that world that we're in - you know, that real one.

I adored GSC. Here are my reasons:

1. You had, not 8, but 16 gyms to choose from.
2. You beat down Team Rocket, which was 10 times more shady than before.
3. Red Gyarados. And the introduction of shinies.
4. It made a fire starter 10 times easier to work with than a Grass starter! (take that, Bugsy and Falkner!)
5. Your rival didn't care about Pokémon until you put him in his place a few times. In the other ones your rival cared about Pokémon, and, in two of them, your rival was friendly. I liked mean rival! It made him 10 times more fun to kick the butt of!
6. Typhlosion and Noctowl came from Johto. Typhlosion is a very awesome starter, while Noctowl became my shiny in Sinnoh that I just encountered in my first run-through.
7. It actually took over 50 hours to beat the game if you did everything. I liked that. I loved how that came back in Sinnoh.
8. Crystal introduced the heroine, which stuck through subsequent generations.

I miss this thing. Tried to play my Gold on Sunday just to see how far I'd go. Rediscovered the fun that is Cyndaquil-evolving-at-level-fourteen, beating down little Pidgeys with a Metapod, beating up Pokemon period with Spearow (FUN!), getting kicked ten feet away by an irritated window-spying rival, catching a Mareep and running around shocking the fishers on the way to Azalea from Violet, and I got all the way to Goldenrod before deciding to just turn the thing off because I didn't feel like facing Whitney if I couldn't save. And one of my favorite parts of G/S/C (admittedly I've never had a Crystal) was having a Typhlosion use Thunderpunch. Pity the elemental punches aren't TMs any more.

Good times.

Though one annoying part was once, I found a shiny Pidgey on the way to Mr. Pokémon's house. As in, before they give you any Pokéballs. Stupid Pidgey. I like the shiny Pidgey line for some strange reason.

Maybe not TM's, but they are still Move Tutor moves in Emerald. That's how my Gallade ended up with Fire & Ice Punches. Disco.

I have decided to go into a Pokemon tournament with my friends. We are using Gold and Silver games to fight... we are using Pokemon Stadium 2 and we have to battle each other.

However, we had requirements:

Each of us had to start a new game
No Celebi, Ho-Oh or Lugia, but we can use the three beasts
No three Pokemon in one cartridge

We HAVE to use the Pokemon we capture in one of those versions only.

==

I am in Sprout Tower and I have:

Chikorita Level 13
Attacks:
- Tackle
- Growth
- Razor Leaf
- Reflect

Geodude Level 13
Attacks:
- Tackle
- Defense Curl
- Rock Throw
- unknown

If anybody knows what Pokemon I should add to this list, that would be cool. Any useful attacks too will be accepted.

Today, one of my friends pointed out that a Gold and Silver remake has been officially confirmed.

http://kotaku.com/5238119/pokemon-remakes-take-gold-silver

I, for one, am thoroughly excited. Thoughts?

Edit: I misread the article, it's highly suspected by this, but it's still a good reason to be excited.

Well, I am, but it hasn't been confirmed. That's based on two hints.

1. They said it's a game that has been popularly discussed.

2. There were gold and silver balls on screen (or something) before the announcement.

So yeah, it's likely, but not certain. I, for one, am excited. I hope I can finally own a Celebi...

EDIT: Ok, NOW it's been confirmed, just read it on Serebii.net.

Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver!!!!!

This will be amazing. It's something every Pokémon fan has been waiting for sinve FR/LG were first announced!

Who knows what they'll add...they can hardly add another area, you already get to go to Johto AND Kanto...

Still, all 493 Pokémon...

This is gonna rock!!!

EDITY EDIT: Just had a thought about a plot point they could add to continue it; the Executive looking for Giovanni would find him, and they could return one last time. He'd reveal Silver is his son. You and he would have a double battle against Giovanni and his Executive...about something. Celebi, maybe, or perhaps the Latis, they haven't appeared fourth gen yet.
