Well? One of the big questions that's been going round since FR/LG came out, or even since they were announced, is are there going to be remakes of G/S/C? Many people also think that with the enormous amount of references to Johto in D/P, including things like the presence of Jasmine, that it's obvious there will be remakes in the fourth gen, for the DS and compatible with D/P. However, I do think there are two key points that say there won't be. 1. Less importantly, I believe that there isn't coding in D/P for Kurt's Special Balls, meaning that that point would have to be removed completely from G/S/C should they be compatible with D/P. Or it may be the other way round, that there is coding, and that's one of the pro-remake arguements, I forget. Pretty sure I was right though. Either way... 2. They only made Generation I remakes in order for people to be able to complete the Pokédex, since there were many pokémon unobtainable in R/S/E. However, since D/P are compatible with Generation III, plus the fact that the only pokémon not available in the games are the starters and legendaries (I trust Serebii thank you very much!), this isn't neccessary, as the Dex can be completed very easily. However, I love Johto, it's my favourite region (which is why I'm so glad I ended up with it for Rangers), but the games to go with it were a bit poo...so remakes would be warmly welcome. I'm sure everyone would like an easier way to get the Johto starters than by completing the Dex on Emerald, or getting them off the Gamecube... And Celebi! They can have Goldenrod's Centre be like in the Japanese games and have the mobile phone thing replaced by Wifi! I want Celebi please!!! |

While I think they might remake G/S/C for the DS, I'm a pessimist. I'll be honest. I don't have a Game Cube so I use a Gameshark to get the Pokemon that can't be caught in Emerald. |

I wish. I have no arguments for or against, because I really can't be bothered. It would be very nice if they made Generation II remakes (like SQUEEULTRAHUGTACKLEGLOMP level nice) but not very likely. Yes, they have a lot of Johto references, but it might not mean anything. Or it might mean that Gamefreak or whoever-it-is (I forget) decided to start having fun with the fans and poking up Johto is one of the coolest regions. It's kind of hard to not love it, y'know? And I hate the fact that you have to either complete Emerald (which I can't, because I don't have a Ruby or know anyone with a Ruby to get Zangoose, so it will always be missing. Gah. I like Zangoose too.) or one of the Gamecube games. Our Gamecube sucks. My mom kicked it once, and it blacks out in less than an hour, and you have to wait another hour before you can play it. Then it blacks out again. |

Well I'm not even trying to complete my Emerald Dex now, because I know that I never will, but with Wifi and the discovery of several offline friends who like Pokémon, I think my Diamond Dex will easily be completed. I'm gonna get the Johto starters off them (they got them from Gamecube) so I could trade them with you once I've breeded some more out of them, Phoenix... Anyway, I only use Emerald for the Battle Frontier, which I've finally returned to, and I'd forgotten how great it was. So many different styles of battling...why the hell did they cut it from D/P? It better be back in Opal... Eh...gotta say something on topic...um... something on topic That'll work... |

Not to be an asshole, but the new version is named Platinum. And yes, Johto remakes would be very welcome, especially now that we know Celebi was supposed to be inside the GS Ball (although now that I think about it, Suicune would have been a good choice. You know, Gold, Silver, and Crystal?), a remake would be a good excuse for the anime to further explore that. It doesn't even have to be part of the main storyline, just a special like the Mystery Dungeon games. |

In Generation III it was impossible to complete the Pokédex without trading to Fire Red/Leaf Green. However, let's look at it a different way... the fourth generation is compatible with the third, and likewise, the first with the third. So that way there are two blocks of compatibility. So maybe each "block" will have one remake of a generation? Therefore, the second generation won't be remade until V... ...I'm just trying to come up with some other believable link, we all know Johto isn't coming back any time soon... |
