Poké Ranger

Rar. Starters. Mew and Arceus. Which one is all sovereignly-all-powerful and which one...is just a legendary. Mew has the fact that it has all the rest of the Pokemon DNA going for it, and Arceus has the highest total base stats and element changes. And other things like that. Celebi and Dialga. Which one is reaaaally the time lord/lady/whatever? Probably Dialga, and then you really have to wonder how Celebi can time travel. Maybe it got a special pass from Dialga or something. And everything else anyone can think of because I'm really lazy. Right. |

Celebi's Guardian

well for Mew vs. Arceus, it has been absolutely stated in-game, canon-wise that Areus was the original one. But then Mew...for poop's sake, there are at least two of those in anime canon (well I doubt the one in movie 8 is the same as the one in movie 1)! I know that quite a few legendaries have more than one of them...but that doesn't really sound too original to me. I bet that even the anime will respect there only being 1 Arceus. Plus I think Arceus is the original one in Rangers anyway, I mean characters always say things along the lines of "Oh my Arceus" or "Sweet Arceus!" and then in one of Yankee's comedy spoof thingies a character said "My faith in Arceus!" Not to mention Arceus's portrayal in Orre, and then finally, should my seventh series actually happen (check out my ff.net profile people!) then Arceus will be portrayed indefinitely as God. Now topic two, which is my favourite topic; time (travel). Again, no legends surrounding Celebi - well there kind of are, but they're very...indetailed... Whereas Dialga - well, D/P in general is just the big game for myths about the legends. According to it, Arceus created Dialga and Palkia, who created time and space repectively. So I reckon Dialga created Celebi to embody and guard time or something. As much as I'd like to think Celebi is the head honcho, it really isn't...now that'll have to come into my series at some point. Oh yeah, kinda-sorta-but-not-really related, with the new Mystery Dungeon games, there are legendary version exclusives, Mewtwo for Darkness and Celebi for Time! how cool is that!? Celebi's finally gonna get the game it deserved to have in Crystal...well, I know which I'm getting... |

White Night

I'd like to think of Mew as Arceus' pet project: he liked the little critter so much, he gave it even his own DNA. Or should I say His? Considering everything that's been retconned since RBY, I don't think that's too far a stretch. And Dialga for the Time Lord win. He and Palkia are meant to rule Time and Space, which goes a lot better than the incongruence of Celebi in GSC (no matter how cute the guy is). That said, Celebi's more like a passerby in the plane of time: it travels through it, but Dialga controls its flow; it's the difference between a whale and a sea god, I guess: when compared to a normal human, both are far more adept in water, but while the whale can make big splashes and waves, the sea god can alter any aspect of the ocean, to which the whale still has to dance to the tune of. Pardon my horrible analogies ._. And since I'm lazy too, that's all I'll say for now. |

Celebi's Guardian
|
No way, Celebi's way better than any Wailmer or Wailord! As Celebi's Guardian (if you'll just look to your left <- ) I'm quite frankly insulted. And as for the Time Lord thing, I'd have thought it'd be obvious. Most of them were killed off in the Time War, and then with the recent death of The Master, The Doctor is the Last of the Time Lords Hey! Let's say Celebi is like the TARDIS, and Dialga is like the Doctor...wow, that actually kinda almost sorta makes sense... Anyway, reason I'm here. Bulbapedia have an article on the history of the pokémon world. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/His...%C3%A9mon_world As you'll see, it says right at the top, under Beggining of the Universe, Arceus came first. Mew doesn't even get a mention. It also explains how Groudon/Kyogre+Regigas fit into the grand scheme of things, and very interestingly states that generations 1 and 3 take place at the same time (makes sense considering that gen 3 is when the gen 1 remakes are) and gen's 2 and 4 are the same (more evidence pro-G/S/C remakes), although that would mean that Jasmine is in two places at once...hmm... |
