So yeah...um...it's a pretty simple idea. I haven't done much yet, but hey: Who's that pokémon? It's Nyura! So yeah, only stuff you can't see is the third feather behind her back (you know, like a Sneasel) and a plaited ponytail. The orb as seen in her Ice Staff is indeed the ice orb from Pokémon 2000. Does that mean there could be a Lightning or Fire Staff? Also, of course, she is only 16, and still has spots, although you might not be able to see that so well. I'm just tired of animated characters always having perfect skin. Just because it's easier to draw... But yes, I doubt that many would want to flash animate her, or at least not the detail of the Ice Staff. EDIT: Oh yeah, and charcoal is the WORST material to work with! Last time I ruin a picture like that... |

So at some point I'll do concept art for as many other characters as I can. I'd love to do Miborg, but Mr. Mime is way too complicated for me. I might just do the Rangers next (both morphed and unmorphed (morphed forms beings based largely on your...um...thingies...of them, Yankee)), then maybe...who knows. Oh, but here are Whitney, Celebi (Nebula), and Orion (the Celebi):    EDIT: I've nnow drawn, but haven't yet coloured the Johto Megazord. I'd show you it in black and white, but there are parts on there that probably look like a load of rubbish if you don't actually know what they are, so I'll colour them first and then it'll be easy to tell...I hope... |

So here it is, that big robot that made Greg sick on many an occasion, and its weapon of choice: I really do like this, I think it turned out great, especiaaly the Feraligatr head parts. Also note it fits the original description of the Megazord, and the pokémon, perfectly. Also, like any good artist, I didn't leave any part white; anything that may look white in fact has a light touching of the silver pencil most prominently shown on the torso, sword, mouthplate, and Ampharos belly. Now. You may notice a bit of black ink in the form of my fingerprints on the bottom half, and here's why. Half way through outlining, the felt tip I was using (and which I'd also used on Nyura) began to run out, mainly because of the metallic gold, silver and crystal parts. So, to get the ink flowing, I gave it a nice shake. That's when it slowly started leaking (around about when I was doing the mouth, which is why that line starts so thick). It wasn't until I'd just about finished that I realised my hands, and the Feraligatr, were filthy. I tried to go over it a bit, but...well. Still, you can imagine what it would look like blue, right? Shortly before finishing, I decided that next time I would definitely have to search much harder for a handwriting pen (like I'd used on the pokémon pictures I've posted here). I have one now, and the Meganium flower in the middle (whih, ironically was the first part I drew in pencil) was forgotten by me, so was done at the end in the pen. I do hope you don't me to do the Zords individually. So, thoughts? |

Cheers, Yankee, that means a lot. I've decided to sod it all, and just have a go at Miborg. If I can do that Megazord, I reckon I can do Miborg respectably. Even though I have already printed out a sheet so I've got all the descriptions of the Johto Rangers, including the original submission, and their first appearances. I should do the Rangers, but you know, ordinary humans are less interesting... EDIT:  So, here's not only Miborg, but also Suods. But here's the real question; which is which? I'm going to use this same paper for Krowa and Sketch too, although I originally meant for Miborg to take up that entire page, but I just started him out too small... So when I've done them too, I'll replace this with its future counterpart... Tried to make it painfully obvious that miborg doesn't have the happy-go-lucky nature of most Mr. Mime's shown in the anime with shiver lines and a shocked mouth expression...erm...yeah. Otherwise not too mcuh to say on these two. I like them, although not as much as Nyura or the Megazord, mainly because of Miborg's computer parts (left side of head, left arm, right leg, both feet), I quite like his organic body parts, and Sudos...but...meh. Also, Phoenix, I was hoping you might post your sketch of Juliet here? This is for all of my first five serieseses after all, once I've done all the Johto stuff, I'm gonna move on to Neo and DF anyway, plus it's no longer available on your profile main reason I'm asking rather than just copying it from there). |

So, here this is, the five main characters for the first several chapters, beyond which they're five of the six main characters, it's the Rangers themselves: So as you can see, the do take some basis from Yankee's watchamacallits (no, seriously, do you call them sprites, drawings...?), but particularly with the helmets they're still rather different. Kind of ironic that the smart one, who in some chapters exhibited the least desire to actually fight (brains over brawn and all that), Greg's helmet actually looks the most fearsome...meh, that's Feraligatr for you... Also, Eddie's helmet does have yellow in the background, because I couldn't just ignore the fact that Typhlosion is ever-so-slightly NOT RED. Also of note, all the helmets have red on them; the other boys because both their pokémon have red eyes, and the girls because both their pokémon have round...head...jewel...things. Seriously, is that a weird coincidence or who? So compared to the other things above, these are, quite frankly, rubbish. And don't say they're not, because they are, everything else I've done is far better. For a start they're not only out of proportion with themselves, but each other. Plus Sabrina's foot got cut off...yeah, that block, I just needed something for Greg to lean on, so...still, I completely screwed that pose up...main things I've never been able to draw well are human hands and feet, and this is just an example of that. The weapon Anna's holding is indeed the Psychic Shooter, not a Shooter Sword or something...wait...just noticed for the first time now, I had two weapons in Johto named Shooter...why didn't anybody tell me!? So the five unmorphed teens will all be all together, then Kris with both his morphed forms will come seperately...hopefully I won't find six normal humans that hard to draw...hopefully they won't have round heads like Nyura, but rather normal heads, that could potentially fit in those helmets... So enough blabbing, time for you to flame! EDIT: So yeah, they now have the logo, which I'm quite proud of, although I think each part is spaced a bit too far apart... I traced the "Poké" from the case for Heroes, the "Rangers" from the case of "The Ultimate Rangers", the lightning bolt from an original Lightning Energy Card (which was really hard, I couldn't hold that up to the window to trace, light doesn't pass through that thing!), and then the Johto is just my bit, kind of symbollising that different aspects of the series were created by Nintendo, Saban/Disney/Toei/however, and me... Also note the colours, they're important; "Poké" is gold, "Rangers" is silver, and "Johto" is blue (aka crystal). Then the lightning bolt is just agreen, you know, like Celebi... |

So now the first five Rangers unmorphed! So obvously you'll note some similarities between them and Yankee's thingamabob's. I did mostly stick to the changes he made from the original descriptions, especially with Greg. Originally Greg hada chequered blue shirt and white vest, as well as hair, but Yankee gave him a blue vest jacket and white t-shirt, which I decided to keep, as I liked it so much. I may use the original description for the Neo design... So as ever I don't like the feet so much, although I'm more bugged by the hands here. The faces are a tad annoying too, or at least the eyes, they just look too cartoony...still, they are rather small... Also, if you scroll up a bit, you'll now see the morphed Rangers have been joined by the logo. |

 So I've now done Kris...as for the two sets of clothing for him, the hoodie is what he was described as wearing when he first came to goldenrod, and throughout being the Black Ranger. Only after he became the White Ranger did he wear the sort of thing Yankee's picture/sprite thing (seriously, people still haven't told me what I should be referring to them as!) showed him in. The main thing I'm proud of here though, is that the faces look the same, it is clearly the same person. More importantly, he is distinct, albeit similar to Eddie. Of course Eddie isn't shown bulging with muscles...sorry about the fact he's clearly on steroids here... But the first Kris does look a bit less nice, a bit more evil...the good Kris looks all...well, good... and is that shadows I see on evil Kris!? I did shadows?! Dead chuffed with the Black Ranger. If you're wondering about his pose, he's holding up his hands and laughing maniacally...very bad. But his helmet as well, how bad is that? Bad in the sense of evil, not crummyness, btw... And his legs differ from the others by not just being white as well, they're all dark like him... White Ranger...yeah, yeah I'm proud of it...it just seems a little bit...a bit too colourful...he is supposed to be the White Ranger after all, but he's covered in red, blue, orange, and black as well...he looks as though he should be in a 70s Sentai... Or perhaps the Omega Ranger, which links to my next thing; Alex, as the Alpha Ranger, was going to have a predominantly white suit, but with other colours to show that he isn't a White Ranger, just like the Omega Ranger...but now this has gone and done that... Anyway...the orange on him is to represent Dragonite...the blue and red were to go with his morpher; I'm sure you remember that there morphers were all just wrist mounted devices with the symbol of that Ranger's type on them (similar to the Dino Thunder morphers). However, dragon's didn't have a type, so Kris's was simply a block with the colours of the dragon type from the game...if you look at the symbol in the third generation, it was a strange mix of blue and red (not purple!), although now it is just a dark blue...but then that would look too much like the Omega Ranger... Anyway...please do let me know what you think... |

 Yeah, it's the Neo Rangers! Dead chuffed with these. They turned out EXACTLY as they were descirbed in the movie (except for those rings round their necks - more on those ina moment - and Anna's skirt was supposed to be pink), which I'm happy about. Mainly happy that this didn't mean they looked boring. So admittedly, doing these I didn't even look at Yankee's things of them, but...well, nothing more to say there really, I just didn't... Looking over it now, I surprised at how much detail I put into describing their helmets, but everything ou see on their heads was described. Oh wait...no, I didn't indicate any colour for their mouthplates, but you know. Speaking of mouthplates, they were generally, and obviously coloured the same as the mouths of their primary Zords. The rings by their necks were also coloured the same as any prominent colour on that pokémon not covered. I added the rings in basically because I forgotwhen I did Rei that their necks were supposed to be white (if you look at any past team of Power Rangers, you'll see the core team all have white necks, excluding the Thunder Rangers), and when I finished her it looked as dodgy as the Jungle Fury suits do without belts. So I just added a bit of blue on top, and carried that on for the rest of them. Kris's pose looks a bit funny...more like he's doing night fever than what I intended, which was sort of like pointing forwards, as thpugh he were commanding the Rangers into battle...eh... I'm not going to do unmorphed counterparts for the unmorphed forms after all, to save on my time and pencils (and outlining pens even more so). I'll just do Rei at the same time as Donny and Carl. Then I'll do Ritchie along with the Silver Scizor, ala Kris's Johto gear, along with a head shot of how he looks in DF (if you remember I described Ritchie as looking a bit different than his hologram, because his hologram was based on what he remembered he looked like, which was a bit off), then the three new DF Rangers, and then all five of them morphed together. I just hope I don't run out of bad poses... So, people, thoughts? |

So if handwriting pens weren't so God awful, I could put up three more pictures right now. Basically, because I didn't know what it'd look like, I drew the Mime Ranger first and based the description in the next chapter off of the picture, rather than the other way round. However, during outlining the pen leaked, and...well, let's just say you won't be seeing that picture. I've also done Donny & Carl, but haven't outlined them yet, believe it or not. I'm quite pleased with them. Also, Donny became a black guy. Basically, when doing his skin, I made him look...well, a bit awful. And my brown pencils were the only ones dark enough to go over it, so he's black. And Carl's fat. EDIT: So here they are, everyone's favourite, or least favourite duo...  Yay. Aren't they handsome. So everything about Carl's appearance is designed to make him look thick. His shirt has his name written on it upside-down, in case he ever forgets, with the message being written awfully. His shoes are on the wrong feet, he can't do his laces, his jeans are falling down despite his belt, he's scratching his butt,and he's got that vacant expression. Also, he's fat and hairy. Donny, by contrast, is very thin. Like I said, he's also black now. He's smart, as he wears shoes with velcro because he can't do laces, but he's still a bit dim, as his shirt shows, referring to a Psyduck as Golduck. The dodgy shape of the picture is because that isn't all the paper; Rei will soon be next to them. Watch this space! EDITY EDIT: So here's that Rei I mentioned. Notice she is rather similar looking to anna. not identical, but that's mainly the hair style and clothes, so they actually are. I guess the football team they all play for named itself after a local basketball team or something...meh.  Who's that pokémon? It's Scizor! Woo! So The Silver Scizor is exactly as described in the fic, except for the golden x on his chest (also he has orange eyes, but that's hardly important). mI added the x, basically, because it looked horrifically boring. It was black and white, basically, with the only other colours on the eyes and wings (note they're a faint shade of blue. This is taken from Scizor). Of course, it's not completely without basis, it's similar to the lines on the chests of the other Neo Rangers. Moving on, and Ritchie. Those clothes are exactly as specified in "Poké Rangers The Movie - Part 1", the first time he's seen with the holographic projector and normal clothes, right down to the silver wtch and golden holographic projector. The second floating head that you may have noticed is of how he looks in Dino Force. He has long hair since he's never had a proper haircut, larger ears and smaller nose (specified in "Blasting Off Again - Part 2"), and bad teeth. By the way, he is supposed to be standing on his toes, with his heels touching, I'm just not good with stuff like that.

 Hmm...it's not bad...I can certainly do better though...especially those legs...Manectric can NOT become that shape...there isn't enough of it...And it needs mor green, if it's going to have green...I guess that can be the colour of the legend armour... Well next I'm going to do the remainder of Nyura's hench-things, and then I'll have done all the major characters of Johto, now that I've done Rei above. Then will be the real test of my drawing skilsness; mutating human characters tat already existed. €20 (thought I'd choose some neutral territory) says I completely screw them up... |

So I've outlined Sketch, Krowa and Manyula...haven't coloured them in, for two good reasons; firstly, I haven't had a chance to, I only drew them last night. Second; I absolutely hate them. Worst thing I've drawn since my Art GCSE coursework... Although...Manyula's ok, and Krowa's head is quite good, but otherwise it's all terrible...I'll have to look at some drawings of Garuda type figures, because drawing both wings and arms is rather difficult. ALso, with Sketch, I've wanted to give him a hunchback, because that's how I've always imagined him, even though I never described him as such, but yeah, that was bad. I'm gonna have to do more research into all of them... So I was thinking if anyone wanted me to, I could do some art for other characters and stuff. Just let me know if you'd like me to. |
