Ok, so after a hiatus of over seven months, I’ve decided there’s no more sense beating around the bush; it’s with a heavy heart that I officially discontinue my Poké Rangers fanfiction, and resign as a Poké Rangers author. It’s been amazing fun, and without you guys I’d still be stuck writing crummy little AAMLs with no plot or substance, only a few seconds in which the reader can go “awww”. You guys helped me develop from chapters around 2000 words with plots well summarised by “Hey, I have a problem. Oh no, a monster who is a physical manifestation of that problem. Oh, and Miborg said “Oh dear, I knew this would happen!” And now we’ve defeated the monster and that has somehow solved my problem. Oh, and look, Donny & Carl have done something silly”. Now I’d like to think that my stories, on the whole, contain well though-out running plots, and well-developed characters, such as Kyle, the goof who would have gone on to experience some major unrequited love, and James, a massive flirt but with a dark past. And of course, villains with decent motives. When I think back to the early days of Johto, when my Rangers consisted of three Pokémon Trainers, a geek and two token girls, and villains whose motive was “We’re bad and we like it.” Anyway, even if I didn’t feel bad about leaving you all hanging, I’d still want to get out all the massive details I’ve put into the plot for the remainder of my fics. For every chapter that I’ve thought through, I’ll provide a good summary, and I’ll list all the major plot details as well. Here goes... 18. The Girls Are Back In Town Obviously, this is the only one of the remaining chapters of DF I’ve actually written anything for, and as such, it’s gone through about fifty different plots. The original was simple enough, the girls came back, there was a Dinosian to fight them all, and it happened to be Oday’s birthday. The next idea came about after the revelation of Rotom’s new Formes. This was going to have the Dinosians stealing Whitney’s Rotom and using the Secret Key to turn it into a monster. It would then go and do things like eat Kyle’s lawnmower and stuff... The third idea featured the return of Golden Oldies from way back in the Johto episode “Evolution Revolution”. This would have the guys this time helping with Whitney’s group, which would include her Granddad, Graham Swift, who’d recognise the Rangers. Whitney would tell the group that when she was a kid, he told her that one day she’d grow up to be a Ranger, and that he’d been one in his youth (which, as we’d find out in Legacy, he was!). The Dinosians, however, are more interested in another member of Golden Oldies, Damien, who was born on the 6th of June 2016. Yeah, they’d use him to destroy the world and stuff... Oh, and whilst all that’s going on, Donny, Carl & Trex would do one last thing in Fallarbor; visit the “descendant” of Lanette. EDIT: Seems I forgot to mention in the original draft (since it's old news to me, I thought it was in the fic already), this episode features the introduction of Chat-Bot, AKA Tweetie, a robot Chatot that would help out in BoO, and provide company for Miborg. He'd hate it and get really annoyed with it, but it'd later be revealed he's just worried they're trying to replace him. Even after reassuring him, however, Miborg would still act hostile towards it. Major plot points: End of the Fallarbor arc. 19. Going Mental This would feature Nanene losing control of her psychic abilities, and the group would realise their powers are evolving. As Nanene starts bringing messages from the dead, the Rangers would decide to hold a séance. Whitney would be against the idea, but they’d hold it nonetheless, in Ritchie and Nanene’s flat. She’d bring messages from people such as Eddie (who claims to know the Rangers who’ve never met him, saying they’ll meet him soon), Rei & Anna’s Mum, James’s Mum (more on that later), and then Whissy, Daryl (Trish’s brother), eventually ending up with Deoxys and Relano switching control of her. They can’t stop it, so the Rangers have to fight Nanene. Oday and Farrah would both want to go down, but someone else would say they shouldn’t and go in their place. Eventually the Rangers realise their fossil powers are evolving too, and use these to save Nanene. Oh, and at the beginning of the episode Nanene decides to die her hair blue (“Subtle”, remarks Kyle), and by the end she’d get a job as a life guard and swimming teacher at the local pool. Major plot points: Eddie knows the Rangers, James’s Mum is dead, Nanene gets a job at the local pool. 20. Mr & Mrs Weaver The previous episode would end on a cliffhanger, with Adelie announcing a visit from hers and Kyle’s Mum. She’d arrive in this episode, and we’d also finally meet their Uncle that they’ve been staying with. His name is Bob, prompting the running gag “Bob’s your uncle” “That’s right!” The Mr referred to here is Bob, as their Dad died a while before they turned up in Goldenrod. She wants Kyle to come home, as she feels he’s wasting his life and Bob’s money (which he doesn’t mind...), whereas Adelie at least has a job. Throughout the episode both new characters would learn Kyle’s a Ranger, so she permits him to stay. She and Bob decide it’s time to tell Adelie the dark secret, which Adelie would reveal to everyone as she turns up in Golden Youths in shock; she’s adopted. Major plot points: We’re introduced to Kyle’s Mum and Uncle, we learn Adelie was adopted. 21. Super Dino Mode – Part 1 22. Super Dino Mode – Part 2 Doing these together since I haven’t entirely divided their plots. It would open with the same introduction as “The Sundance Rockets”, which described the battle between a lone Ranger, Cassidy & Butch, and two monsters. Then we’d see Greg & Clara in Silph Co., working on a “top-secret” project they’d been assigned to when Ritchie’s parents had learned of his Ranger ties. He’s working late as he feels “The Rangers will need it. Soon”. In Goldenrod, Kyle tells the others that Adelie’s upset, at home in bed, and states that he doesn’t care, she’s still his sister. Those two frozen monsters would awaken and unite with the Dinosians, overwhelming the Rangers, to the point where Greg has to come and give them their new upgrade. They would all have new armour fashioned after their Zords, but it would not be called super Dino Mode, that’s just a pun for the title. In the end they’d defeat the monsters, but they’d escape. Oh, and Donny & Carl would end up at the swimming pool for some reason, where they meet a colleague of Nanene’s, and both develop major crushes. Major plot points: Greg gives the Rangers new armour, Alex’s foes are introduced, the new Donny & Carl arc begins, introducing their crush, and newfound rivalry and hatred. 23. What’s On Your Mind? Not my most thought out episode, but it would feature James & Juliet being sucked into some sort of world made up of their own consciousnesses, wherein they’d learn they’re more similar than they think. Oh, and Donny & Carl would do something related to their arc. Major plot points: More light shed on James’s past. 24. Project Alpha – Part 1 25. Project Alpha – Part 2 This two would open with the introduction to “The Sundance Rockets”. After another brief fight early on, Nanene and Kyle would be flirting at Golden Youths, then as she leaves, he realises something with a blow as heavy as an anvil to the head. He sits down with James & Ritchie, and declares his love for Nanene. The guys are shocked to learn he’d only just realised, thinking he’d have known. They tell him Nanene feels the same way, and he resolves to tell her how he feels. At that point they’re called into action again, and when it looks like Nanene is doomed, out of nowhere the Alpha Ranger comes to save her! Later, whilst Kyle is trying to tell Nanene how he feels, he learns she’s smitten with the Alpha Ranger, though the others dismiss it as a schoolgirl crush. Only in the second part do we learn Alpha’s identity. Alex reveals he fought those two monsters in his time, along with Cassidy and Butch. They help him defeat the monsters, fulfilling his quest. He decides to join the team. In order to defeat them, Alex goes and finds two Zord eggs hidden away by Anthony the Second back in the Orre/Neo crossover, which Anthony had told him about. The reason DF has seven Rangers is, apart from matching the seven colours of Johto, that I thought up the Mime Ranger as number six before Starfighter submitted Alex. He was originally classified a White Ranger, and part of the core team, but his background just wouldn’t work for a core ranger. However, I was interested, so I reworked him into the Alpha Ranger, whose powers were developed by the Elite Force as a trial run, their first morpher. After this I decided that once introduced, he and the Mime Ranger would be like the Omega and Shadow Rangers (albeit Alpha wouldn’t suck like Omega); the Mime Ranger would come into battle when they truly need it, whilst Alpha would always go with the Rangers. This episode also put the image in my head of Kyle singing the song “Obviously” by McFly (if you don’t know it, look it up), and it’s because of that image that Alex is 23. This would feature the culmination of Donny and Carl’s arc. They’d let her decide who she would go out with, and it turns out she actually likes them both! She chooses Donny though, and he rubs it in Carl’s face, who dejectedly accepts defeat, leaving. Donny decides Carl’s feelings for he rare stronger, and she should be with him, which Donny is ok with. The best friends make-up. (Oh, and her name would begin with “E”, continuing the trend of that groups names, Adrian, BT, Carl, Donny). Major plot points: Introduction of Alex the Alpha Ranger, Kyle realises his feelings for Nanene, Nanene gets a crush on Alex, Alex’s foes are defeated, Alex gains the two Zords left for him by Anthony, Donny & Carl’s arc ends, Carl gets a girlfriend. Alex moves in with James, and we see his flat for the first time. 26. Dorian’s True Colours At the end of last episode (too much happened then!), Dorian gleefully reveals his mother (who he refers to as “Mumsy” in such a snotty little way) is coming for a visit. She tells him it’s time for him to take the power that is rightfully his, and he commits treason, attempting to take the throne of Dinos, and conquering Earth alone. Jashinka is heartbroken as she learns her husband never loved her, only used her to get close to the throne. Just as the Rangers are about to defeat Dorian, Stegatrix shows up, telling them to leave him, as he’s their criminal, they’ll deal with him. He’s imprisoned on Dinos, but before his mother departs she tells him he will have his day; it’s his destiny to rule Earth and Dinos. Major plot points: Dorian’s mother is introduced, Dorian is revealed as a traitor to Dinos, and is imprisoned. 27. The Not-So Common Cold One of the last episodes submitted, by Starfighter. Alex develops a cold, much to the confusion of the Rangers, and horror to Whitney and Miborg; the common cold died out decades before, and as such people in their time aren’t immune to it. Alex recovers, but the other Rangers (minus Whitney) and Anna get sick. Whilst Whitney and Miborg work on a cure, Alex has to deal with the latest Dinosian alone. Jashinka, meanwhile, is distraught over Dorian, and goes on a rampage on Earth. By the end, the Rangers kill her. Major plot points: Jashinka is defeated, the first of the Dinosian royals (not counting Relano) to die. 28. Return To The Battle Frontier Ritchie’s parents get the group day passes to the Battle Frontier of Hoenn, much to James’s horror. The six Rangers and Anna decide to take one challenge each to see if they can collect all the Symbols in a day. James takes on the Battle Pyramid, and as he treks through, is attacked by Juliet. He’s not in the mood, however, so she takes on her human form, and carries on with him, and he explains. His parents met at the Indigo League (he won, she came second), and decided to settle down, etc, and had him. He ended up being offered the post of Frontier Brain, which meant either his family moved or he left them. James’s Mum was tired of his battling obsession, and he left. James hadn’t seen him since. James’s Mum shortly died, leaving him to be raised by his grandmother, who died shortly before the start of DF. James challenges his Dad to a battle, but when the Rangers call him for help, he forfeits, telling his Dad there’re more important things in life than Pokémon battles. Juliet supports his decision, and they bond, but the moment they’re outside, she transforms and attacks him. She winks at him, however, and takes it easy, allowing him to help his friends. At the end, James’s Dad confesses that his son is right, and apologises. They patch things up, though it’s still pretty awkward (this isn’t a fairy tale, no quick resolution for them). Major plot points: James’s past is fully explored, James’s Dad is introduced, the Rangers collect six Frontier Symbols. 29. Atlantis Not much thought about here, but the Rangers would end up exploring the lost sunken city of Sootopolis (you heard me, I’m ripping off Futurama), and...stuff would happen. Major plot points: No, not really...this is pretty much filler... 30. Route 51 So the Rangers explore the mysterious Route 51, and discover the top-secret military base (see what I did there?). They’re shown all sorts of amazing technology, including a suit of armour that seems to be related to the armour Dark Terror wore in MMPR. Oday and co. break in, and dominate the Rangers, until Kyle dons the armour as a Battlizer. The power-up he receives is more powerful than any Battlizer the world had yet seen, but with a cost that made it comparable at best to any other; it fills the wearer with such fury the nearly go insane. Kyle very nearly kills Oday, until Nanene begs him to stop, terrified by his behaviour. He removes the armour, and Oday flees. He’s given the armour, but swears only to use it in direst need, otherwise sticking with Greg’s armour (therefore preventing it from being made redundant). This episode would be narrated mostly in first person past tense by Kyle, so we can see the power of the armour first hand, as well as his horror at making Nanene so scared. Major plot points: Kyle receives the Blaze Fury Battlizer (oh yeah, it’s power is fire-orientated, since he’s my only Red Ranger planned AT ALL to not have fire-based powers naturally). 31. Journey To The Centre Of The Donny So Trex and co. have discovered what he claims is a weapon powerful enough to destroy the world, but is the same size and shape as a Cheerio. The Rangers and Dinosians all learn they have it, and race to get it, but Donny accidently eats it with his breakfast. The Dinosians shrink and enter his body to find it, and the Rangers, naturally accompanied by Carl and Trex, go in to find it too. Obvious parody here, but I loved the idea. 32. Like Father Like Clone Following on from the last episode’s cliffhanger, Anna makes Miborg reveal his secret; he’s been growing a son in a tank. He’d taken an extract of a female Mr. Mime’s DNA, combined it with his, and grown what he calls “Miborg Jr.” (original, I know). Miborg Jr. is woken up, but the Dinosians take advantage; they transform him into a monster, who Whitney has to face him alone. He majorly damages her morpher, and knocks her into a coma, as well as destroying Tweetie. The other Rangers try to defeat him, but he’s too much (though Kyle doesn’t risk the Blaze Fury Battlizer, as it’s still Miborg’s son). Miborg shows up to confront his son, and morphs into the Pink Mime Ranger! After subduing his son, changing him back into his Mime Jr. shape, albeit having to be put back into his tube to recover, Miborg explains; Whitney’s morpher was powered by him, and featured a DNA lock to prevent others using it. When Miborg Jr. damaged it, he broke the lock, but rendered it unusable because of low power. However, as the source of power himself, Miborg is able to use it as he can provide more power if it’s for himself, as it wouldn’t weaken him. Whitney wakes up by the end, confined to a wheelchair. This episode is probably the single episode I’ve spent the most time thinking about. It would feature scenes such as Anna using Miborg’s catchphrase, with him telling her to snap out of it, and Miborg using lines such as “You’ve been a very bad boy, Miborg Jr. Go to your room!” This completes his development from the wimp seen at the start of Johto, to a powerful Ranger. This episode is why I never scanned my design of the Pink Mime Ranger; I intended to show you both Whitney’s feminised suit, and Miborg’s masculine one at the same time. The main difference is Miborg’s doesn’t have a skirt, but meh. So yeah, when morphed Miborg would grow like Justin, and his head would change shape to fit in a helmet. Major plot events: Miborg has been growing a son, Whitney is crippled, and forced into a wheelchair for the rest of her life, Miborg takes over as the new Mime Ranger (and the first time I’ve shown one power passed on to someone knew, a feature that was key in Power Rangers, although that was always because the actor left, not like this). 33. A Series Of Short Earth-Conquering Attempts I can’t really talk about this, as it would be made up of lots of short plots by the Dinosians (such as them just sending a monster which is quickly defeated), many of which haven’t been thought of, although I have one, wherein Ritchie (who, I forgot to mention, pledged to help Adelie find her birth parents, knowing how such a feeling as not knowing your birth parents feels) and Adelie would go to Ritchie’s old island home, with the Dinosians having brainwashed his parents to attack him. His birth parents would come and help, and he’d save the day! This was inspired by those monsters sometimes seen at the start of Power Rangers episodes being defeated, just to illustrate the Rangers power, who clearly make so little impact their story isn’t worth showing. Now we see the stories of monsters like them. 34. Back To The Future – Part 1 35. Back To The Future – Part 2 Oh yeah, my first internal crossover! Eddie, Sabrina, Celebi and Nyura return! In 2108, the Rangers are chasing after some Zaroids, when they bump into a great big glacier. In Azalea Forest. The Zaroids take the glacier back to Dinos, and the Rangers turn to Miborg, who’s more scared then he’s been throughout DF. He tells them that frozen in the ice was Nyura, the Ice Queen. In 2006, two robbers flee through the forest, only to be stopped by two Rangers, who hand them over to Officer Jenny. They then discover the same glacier, and are horrified to see their old foe. Eddie and Sabrina reunite with Celebi as he shows up and explains he’s still on his quest to tie up all the loose ends in Nyura’s appearances throughout time. He explains how she was frozen by her own Staff centuries back, and he thought she’d have thawed by then. He deduces she’ll thaw in just over 100 years, so he locks her in time, meaning the presence of the ice won’t exist until it’s about ready to thaw. Eddie and Sabrina beg Celebi to take them with him, so they can see their old friends and help Celebi again. He agrees, and they arrive to be instantly attacked by Zaroids. The DF Rangers save them, and they reunite as well (they’re shocked by how much Miborg has grown, to become a Ranger). On Dinos Nyura thaws, and agrees to work with the Dinosians. She summons a Smeargle from Earth, and transforms him into Sketch, beating him into obedience. He creates several monsters for her, including Sudos. However, her plan is to revive creatures previously fought by the Rangers, that they never defeated, and with a crackle of blue electricity, revives the Rocket Rangers (when we last saw them, they were turned against Giovanni by blue electricity, and later vanished by the very same means, to reappear a year later). Rocket Green attacks Kris and Kurtis, training for the Hoenn League, and they decide to visit Goldenrod, as does Greg after being attacked by Rocket Blue. Celebi explains to the Eddie and Sabrina that their powers can restore Anna’s, so long as she still has her morpher, at a risk. They agree, and power her up. Part one would end with those three, the DF Rangers, and Celebi fighting Rocket Rangers. At the opening of part 2 Celebi would, naturally, be injured, forcing him to remain in BoO. Miborg is more lenient than he used to be, and says Celebi will be fine with just a bit of rest. The other three Rangers arrive, and their morphers are restored. The episode would climax with the classic Great Big Battle, all the Dinosian royals and a few more Dinosians to boot, all of Nyura’s new goons (even Sketch, who is not yet the coward we meet in Johto), and the Rocket Rangers, against all 13 Rangers (Eddie & Kyle, Kurtis & Ritchie, Greg & James (both reluctant), Sabrina and Rei, Anna & Nanene, Kris, Alex, and Miborg (meaning Kris is the only former Neo Ranger not to face his corresponding Rocket Ranger)). The Rocket Rangers are finally destroyed, and Nyura’s alliance with the Dinosians ends. Celebi sends her through time, revealing he’s sent her back to 2006, Azalea forest, about to meet a couple of young Pokémon trainers. Later, it is discovered the power from the Johto morphers has returned to the Dragon Shrine in 2016, as it couldn’t handle being divided so thinly. Eddie points out back home there are plenty of teams to do the job anyway, and it’s ok, but he and Sabrina are saddened that they’ve lost their powers (having never experienced this before). They convince Celebi to let them stay and hang out for a bit before they go home. Donny & Carl wonder if they’ve met Eddie and Sabrina before, Jimmy points out that they share their names with the famous singers/Pokémon trainers/founders of Golden Youths, and then Eddie, Sabrina, and Nanene perform together on stage. So this is why the Rocket Rangers just vanished. This is when Sudos and Sketch were made, and we learn Sketch was bullied into his timid state seen in Johto, before snapping, and plotting mutiny. Eddie and Sabrina’s powers are destroyed, which is why said powers aren’t around by PROO. Alex reveals he knows Eddie and Sabrina, but this is before they’ve met him. Sabrina reveals that she, like Whitney, is interested in Quantum Zord Mechanics, and is learning from Anthony Madigan. She also guesses correctly that BoO is an acronym for “Base of Operations” (simple, huh?). Eddie reveals he has become Silver Conference Champion, like Kris, and both Sabrina and Kurtis vow to be next. Also, at the end of the very first episode of Johto, and you can check this, Nyura makes a vague reference to recognising the Johto Rangers (said reference has always been there). It was first thought she simply meant she knew Celebi had the power to make Rangers, but she only learns that in this episode, when she meets them. It was for this very episode that The Silver Scizor and the Green Dino Ranger are one and the same. When first conceiving them, The Silver Scizor died at the end of Neo, and Rei was the only Neo Ranger to become a Ranger again. However, I then realised that if Ritchie took that slot, then a crossover between Johto and Dino Force would include EVERY single Ranger from my first three series. With the Rocket Rangers, I also have villains from all three, and there presence makes this unofficially a crossover with Neo too. Major plot points: Johto/Dino Force crossover, Eddie, Sabrina, Celebi, Nyura, etc, all reappear and meet everyone, their powers are destroyed, the Rocket Rangers are beaten, and probably a whole lot more. 36. Rei of Light Rei has become disillusioned with the world and how poorly people treat it. After some soul-searching, she betrays the Rangers, and joins up with the Dinosians, claiming they would treat Earth the way she deserves. Major plot points: Rei switches sides, beginning the Rei of Light arc. 37. It's My Party And I'll Morph If I Want To It’s Kyle’s birthday, so there’s a party. They fight Rei, and Kyle becomes enraged with her. He calls on the Blaze Fury Battlizer, making him angrier, and very nearly kills her, until again the other Rangers calm him down. Throughout the episode, Adelie would FINALLY learn the identities of the Rangers (though, as explained in the first episode, she had an idea of who the Neo Rangers were, and pretty much figured out the Dino Rangers by herself). At the end of the episode, Kyle would receive a card from Rei, which would say that although they were enemies in battle, he’d still always be her friend. Major plot points: Adelie learns the Rangers’ identities. 38. Goldenrod Gym This is the first episode where I intentionally decided to have no fighting between the goodies and baddies (the same thing happened in Neo’s “Scizor’s Story”, but that time it was unintentional, and a Team Rocket plot was planned). Whitney explains how in her crippled state she’s no longer fit to be gym leader, so she’s contacted the League to send someone to battle her to become her replacement. That someone just happens to be the current Hoenn League Champion, Kurtis Dragonfly. If he wins, he becomes the Leader; otherwise, she’d stay in place until another suitable challenger could come. To make sure she battles her best (since she could easily lose on purpose), the League sends an official to referee, who turns out to be Kris! He promises to judge fairly, however, and Whitney agrees to fight her best. The remainder of the episode would be their battle, and I think the most plot-important battle ever seen in Rangers. Kurtis would win, taking over as Gym Leader. At this point he wonders where Rei is, not having noticed during the battle. The episode ends just as the Rangers explain. Major plot points: Kurtis replaces Whitney as the Goldenrod Gym Leader, we learn Whitney’s specialist type (Electric, who’d have thought it?), Kurtis and Kris return as main characters for the rest of DF, Kurtis and Kris learn of Rei’s betrayal. 39. Rei of Darkness The episode opens on Rei having watched the last episode’s events. Oday and co. tell her that they will spare her family (they value family), and will allow her one another to survive, so long as she can persuade them to accept the Dinosian rule when it comes. At this point Juliet comes in with a new Dinosian, and a plan to upset them. The Dinosian is supposedly able to predict soul mates, and tells Rei that James is hers, shocking Rei and “oddly” angering Juliet. All three go down, and Rei ignores the message, trying to talk to Kurtis. He is furious with her, however, reminding her that she was among those who first defeated the Dinosians, and saw their terror herself. He officially splits up with her, and she rejoins the battle. Juliet leaves them to it, and Rei decides it is time to reveal her true colours. She had never truly joined the Dinosians at all, but instead decided she would infiltrate them to learn about them, as she was confused by things such as their honour. She learns that over time their knowledge of ancient Earth has become skewed; they believe humans invaded the Earth, and defeated their peaceful ancestors. As such, modern Dinosians truly believe themselves to be the good guys, and humans the evil villains. The Rangers explain the truth to the Dinosian, who senses their honesty. He returns to Dinos to spread the good news, believing that at last the two races can live in peace. Rei rejoins the Rangers, who welcome her back, congratulating her success in essentially ending the war. Rei also says what the Dinosian told her, but decides that being with her perfect match would be boring, and she still loves Kurtis. Kurtis, however, still feels betrayed, and states that until he can get the image of Rei attacking the other Rangers from his mind, they can’t be together. On Dinos, the Dinosian returns, but is immediately ambushed and killed by Oday. Major plot points: Rei is revealed to be good, rejoins the Rangers, ending the Rei of Light arc, the Dinosians are revealed to be good, and the war would have ended, but Oday is shown to truly be evil (this is the secret both he and Dorian knew alone), Kurtis and Rei break up. Poké Rangers Dino Force The Movie: Dynasty of the Dragonfly In actual fact, this movie contradicts canon (I think you’re allowed to do that with movie’s...), but if it were to slot into canon, this is where it would go. Within it Kurtis is the Goldenrod Gym Leader, and Rei has rejoined the Rangers, however she and Kurtis are still together, and the discovery that the Dinosians are good hasn’t been made. They almost don’t even need to be together, but I thought I’d take that liberty for the movie. Plus they couldn’t know the Dinosians were good, so... Kurtis discovers why his father disowned his family; throughout his childhood, he dreamed of becoming a Ranger, just like all his family were. However, he fell in love, married, had Kurtis, with a second child on the way before they actually wanted him to become a Ranger. He refused, saying his family was more important, and he didn’t want to risk Kurtis becoming a Ranger, being endangered, but they wouldn’t take no for an answer, so Joseph Dragonfly moved them to Goldenrod. When he learns Kurtis was a Ranger, he’s furious that he gave up his dream for nothing. Later, Kurtis and all the Rangers end up kidnapped. Whitney calls on Lunasol to help out in the meantime, and Joseph is angry for having left things with his son on a bad note. He tries to help Lunasol in battle, but when Lunasol is crippled, they escape to Meteor Falls. Joseph recognises the place as the base of PROO, which Lunasol has since taken over. Lunasol states he can no longer fight, but that his power can be used. He explains to Joseph how the Mime Morpher works, and how it was first used by Whitney. Together they build a morpher, and Joseph becomes the Soluna Ranger, meaning from Danny to Kurtis, every Dragonfly had been a Ranger. He also uses a variation of Danny’s catchphrase, which I sadly can’t remember. Joseph saves his son and the Rangers. In the end, Joseph decides to go to Kanto to reconcile with his family, but stresses Kurtis should stay in Goldenrod, as both the gym and his friends need him. Joseph’s wife goes with him, and Laura leaves for the Sinnoh region, meaning Kurtis has the house to himself. Joseph offers his son the Soluna morpher, as he is the one who should be a Ranger, and jokes that the Dino Rangers may need help, but Kurtis tells him to keep it, as he can finally live his dream. Major plot points: Kurtis learns why his father disowned his family, Joseph Dragonfly becomes the Soluna Ranger, Joseph goes to Kanto to reconcile with his family, and thus join the Future Force Rangers. 40. The Dawn Of Time – Part 1 41. The Dawn Of Time – Part 2 42. The Dawn Of Time – Part 3 My once-in-a-season time-travel based three-parter! Dorian receives help in escaping from prison on Dinos, and takes the Rangers back in time. They arrive just as Tyranno Hadro Rhino escapes, and even watch Einstein freezing Greg, Rei, Anna and Team Rocket in the Ruins. Rei reunites with him, and explains how a descendant of those who escaped has come back. Dorian gathers all the Dinosaurs that remain on Earth, including Dark Dactyle, and takes control, attacking the Rangers. Meanwhile, in the present, the Dinosians realise there is a traitor, and hunt for them. They discover it is Dorian’s mother, and she escapes to Earth. Furthermore, Whitney, Anna, Kris and Kurtis try to bring the Rangers back. Late at night, Anna and Kris take a break for a date, and, at the cliffhanger to part 2, Kris proposes to her. The Rangers battle Dorian’s army, but the best they can do is send Dorian even further back in time, back to the dawn of life itself. Einstein helps the Rangers return to the present, and Dorian’s mum is horrified, thinking that time should have shifted so that she now ruled the world, as her son was prophesised to take over the world. The Rangers explain that Dorian was successful, but that he simply took over the world when humans, Pokémon and dinosaurs were still young, and that Tyranno Hadro Rhino was in fact descended from him (meaning Dorian had slept with his greatxseveral thousand granddaughter). In her fury, Dorian’s Mum attacks some passers-by, prompting Kyle to kill her with the Blaze Fury Battlizer. It is revealed she attacked Carl, who is unconscious, with his girlfriend, Donny and Trex sobbing beside him. In case you’re wondering, Dorian isn’t descended from THR, but from some of the others who escaped with him, who historically served as THR’s right-hand-man. Furthermore, Dorian’s ancestors were not descended from him, but rather some of the other Dinosaurs already living on prehistoric Earth, so he didn’t descend from himself. He did, however, sleep with his granddaughter, Jashinka. Major plot points: Dorian escapes prison, Rangers meet Einstein again, Dorian conquers prehistoric Earth, founding the Age of the Dinosaurs, and their cruelty, Kris proposes to Anna, Dorian’s Mum returns, and is killed, but not before she fatally wounds Carl. 43. Carl Carlson Carl is in hospital, comatose, and the episode serves as Donny recounting the story of how they became friends, and eventually, the events of the last few years, from their point of view, mostly to Carl’s girlfriend and Trex, but also the Rangers. At the end of the episode Carl wakes up, and begins to recover. Major plot points: We learn (in more detail) how Donny & Carl came to be friends, and how they saw the events of the fics, Carl wakes up from his coma, Kris & Anna announce their engagement. 44. Who’s The Fairest Of Them All – Part 1 45. Who’s The Fairest Of Them All – Part 2 Somewhat a sequel to the events of Geno Blast. Stegatrix attacks the Rangers, leaving them confused, as they though peace had been restored (they haven’t seen any Dinosians but Dorian and his mother, who they knew were not on the same side as the other Dinosians, since chapter 39, bar the movie). They cross through a vortex, and duplicates of all eight emerge on the other side, and begin attacking people. In the mirror world they’re quickly attacked by Donny & Carl, who are buff heroes of this world. They don’t know BT, Trex or Carl’s girlfriend. They are glad to have finally caught the Rangers, but they explain how they’re good, and not from this world. They explain the situation, and Stegatrix learns that the Rangers are good, and explains how the message never reached them, as they thought the Rangers had killed the Dinosian from that episode. D&C explain that events like that had happened before, and describe Geno Blast. They explain the last few years on their world; an evil Celebi brought Rangers to help conquer, but the good Ice Queen Nyura tried to stop them. When she was killed, and all seemed lost, Team Righteous (remember, the heroes Team Rocket were mistaken for in one episode of Chronicles) came and defeated them. However, they gained new powers and defeated Team Righteous. Then the Dinosians came and upgraded the Rangers powers, and they conquered together. Donny & Carl have always tried to aid the heroes, and are now the only ones left. The Rangers & Stegatrix fight, and learn that there evil parallels have gone to Earth to fight. D&C think the Dinosians of their world will stop them, but they explain the situation of their world. D&C help them return to their world, on the condition they’ll return to help save their world once they’ve stopped Stegatrix and the Rangers. Our Ritchie brings back his duplicate first, Lionel, but they become trapped in the Dinosian fortress. They talk and Ritchie helps Lionel (a spoiled rich kid who had everything given to him in life by his wealthy parents until they were accidentally killed by Team Righteous) see the error of his ways. The other Rangers and Stegatrix pull back their duplicates, and they receive aid in taking down the remaining Dinosian Royals from Oday and Dorian, who’d been working on the inside to defeat them (the Rangers and Stegatrix realise this means their Oday is evil). Not realising Ritchie and Lionel are still trapped inside, they set off a self-destruct on the fortress. The Green Rangers discover a teleport, but with only enough power for one. As one of them asks how they decide who should survive, the other uses the teleport on the one asking, sacrificing himself. Stegatrix is overwhelmed by his duplicate, and sacrifices himself to defeat him. The Green Ranger arrives with the group, and tells them both were trapped inside. He tells them, sobbing, that he is Lionel, and Ritchie gave his life to let him live. He vows to join our Rangers and fight in Ritchie’s honour. They agree he should simply take on Ritchie’s identity. Oday Dorian, Donny and Carl tell the Rangers, before they leave, that they’ll try to restore peace to their world. They’re disturbed to learn parallel Oday and Dorian are “together”. Major plot points: The Rangers and Stegatrix go to the mirror world, Stegatrix learns they are good, the Rangers learn their Oday is evil, Stegatrix dies, Ritchie dies and is replaced by his reformed parallel self, Lionel. 46. The Last Neo Zord Farrah and Foster discover that not all 17 Neo Zords became active, and that, despite having been destroyed, when the last one activates it will reform, becoming more powerful than ever. The Tyranitar Zord returns, horrifying Kris, but the Rangers fight their hardest. When they defeat the Zord, the spirit of the Black Ranger comes, claiming that he will change history and conquer Earth in the past. Major plot points: The Tyranitar Zord returns and is revealed to be the last Neo Zord, making its last chronological appearance, the Black Ranger makes his last chronological appearance. 47. Jury Duty This is pretty much a flashback of all three seasons, with the Rangers put on trial for damage they’ve caused, with videos used as evidence both for and against them. At the end Nanene makes a prophesy, which, in part, consists of “...Two great evils shall unite, and no good Forces together shall defeat their combined strength”. Major plot points: Nanene prophesises what appears to be the Rangers’ doom. 48. Project Alpha Terminated Alex’s powers are destroyed. In a video recorded by him in the early 21st century, saved to BoO’s records, only becoming available as he vanishes, he tells them himself that they will find him on Mt. Silver. The video claims they will find out how the video exists very soon. It’s at this point in Dino Force’s time that they would experience a crossover with Elite Force. This is the last appearance of Alex in DF. His absence would not be explained until EF. Major plot points: Alex’s powers are destroyed, Alex makes his last appearance in DF. 49. The End Of The Poké Rangers – Part 1 50. The End Of The Poké Rangers – Part 2 Oday has seen Nanene’s prophesy, and unites with one of the most powerful evils to ever be faced by Rangers; Sirpe (two great evils). The Dino Force Rangers unite with the Future Force Rangers (two good Forces), along with every other ally they have, including Team Rocket (now going by Team Righteous. Jessie and James are still mutated, and Meowth still isn’t, though he’s regained his ability to talk), the Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles (and Master Toothpick), Lunasol (still recovering from the movie), the Kaku Rangers (including BT, who is now the Black Kaku Ranger) and more. However, as Nanene’s prophesy foretold, they can’t win. Meanwhile, Lionel begins having visions of Ritchie, preparing him for something. He says they were wrong to think it was only if two of the same person existed in the same universe, but that it was actually because one cannot exist for long in any universe but their own. Just as they’re winning, Oday and Sirpe decide it is time for them to separate, and part on good terms, deciding each would rule one half of Earth (both intended to double-cross the other, of course). Once Farrah and Foster are killed, Oday joins the fight. The Future Force Rangers leave to fight Sirpe in Kanto wishing Dino Force good luck. Dino Force begin to win though, and Whitney points out the prophesy stated the two great evils would remain invulnerable whilst united. James meet Juliet, and explains that neither side is evil. Juliet explains this to the people of Dinos, and hundreds of them go to Earth. Oday corners the Rangers, and slaughters them, even defeating Kyle’s Battlizer. As he prepares to deal the final blow, Donny & Carl step in the way, telling Oday he’ll have to go through them first. They tell the Rangers that they’ve always defended them, so they’re repaying the favour. They realise with shock, as the Rangers have lost their helmets, just who the Rangers are. Trex, BT, Carl’s girlfriend, and eventually all the characters of the series stand between Oday and the Rangers, including Samuel, Jimmy, Whitney, Crazy Bill (who exclaims delightedly he was right about the robo-mime), Tom, Anna, Kris, Kurtis, Adelie, Trish, Kyle’s Mum & Uncle, Rei’s Dad, James’s Dad, Ritchie’s parents (both human and Scyther), Sickle, and many, many more. Oday screams he’ll kill the planet if he has to, but a cry from the rooftop stops him. Juliet & the Dinosians are adorning the roofs of Goldenrod, and she declares him under arrest for treason, mass murder, and attempted genocide. He continues screaming, and the spirit of Deoxys appears. Deoxys tells Oday he is ashamed of him, completing Oday’s descent into insanity. Lionel deduces what Ritchie meant, and grabs Oday, telling the Rangers to attack with their fossil powers. They begrudgingly do so, killing both of them. In the epilogue it is revealed that Earth, Dinos, and Kaku united to form the start of a galactic community. Those were lost are mourned. The rebuilding of Golden Youths is completed. Anna & Kris are married. Rei catches the bouquet, and shares a smile with Kurtis – it is unknown and undecided if they later reconcile. James is shown at the wedding with Juliet. She tries to take on her human form, but James says that he wants to be with her, not some fake image. Kyle and Nanene are also finally together. Last but not least, Donny, Carl, BT, Trex, and Carl’s girlfriend – as they are, between them, the most knowledgeable of all three planets, are appointed variously as interplanetary ambassadors. Major plot points: Far, far too many, but essentially: the end of Dino Force, and the trilogy it makes with Johto and Neo. The last of my fics set in the 22nd century. Now, I’ve spent several hours on this, and I have things to do, so I’ll leave you with this for now, and continue later. This is already longer than any chapter of the fic anyway. I may add this to DF later, for any readers who don’t come here. EDIT: I originally typed this in word for fear of losing it, which is why it lacks line breaks. Like hell am I going through this to add them back in. EDITY EDIT: I'd love to know your thoughts on this, but please post them in the Johto & Lectos discussion forum, not here.
