No way... You couldn't get much more conspicuous than a talking Meowth if you tried. Maybe if you covered it in fluorescent paint and made it sing something, but... You are forgetting that the people in the Pokémon world are incapable of seeing through a very bad Team Rocket disguise. Which might explain how they can get away with wearing the uniforms in public and not be lynched. (Wouldn't that be an interesting episode). No, not Wobbufet!!!! Think they'll continue the joke of James getting a grass type Pokémon that loves him? |

Good point...Meowth merely has to slap on a fake moustache and somehow people believe he's human...let's compare...![]() Well, clearly that's a portrait of a person...wait, what!? That's a cat!? I am most surprised at this startling development! Yes...Wobbufet :( Only two Pokémon are spared being removed...Meowth is seriously lucky... I dunno, they could do...there is Marakacchi, a new cactus based Pokémon, who can learn Needle Arm, previously the signature move of Cacnea & Cacturne. Or Teshiido, covered in spikes... Meh. I just really want him to catch Meguroko. It can be the Pokémon that causes him harm. I just think Meguroko really matches with him...it could evolve once if they want it to, although Warubiaru is obviously too powerful for him... Of course, they've never given a main character a dark type...still, before Gible we never had a main character with a Dragon type, and now Ash is travelling with a Dragon type leader. |

Or y'know... The approach from the Scooby Doo movie where you can pass a great dane off as your grandmother. Team Rocket wouldn't be Team Rocket without Meowth. If you were going to get rid of Meowth, you might as well get rid of Jessie and James as well. |

Well, if you think back to Aipom, it wouldn't be the first time they've tried something like that. It makes sense, especially since he hasn't had a water type starter since Totodile back in the... Wow, that seems a long time ago now. Probably because it is... |

Man that is depressing... in a way i couldve actually seen ash catch mudkip but... the water type starters havent been in any battl;es either excpet for the end of the johto saga. I think squirtle may have appeared in one frontier challenge but that would be it. Hopefully mijumaru gets more action then those two. |

Harsh on Piplup who was in all but 17 episodes of D/P. True, he wasn't in many traditional battles (though there were a few, like when Dawn battled Maylene (she used Piplup in that right?)) but there were loads of contest battles. As for Black & White... Spoiler: click to toggle

Yeah, she used Piplup against Maylene. There were a few other battles as well, I can sorta remember a tag battle against Ash and Brock. And yeah, Ash used Squirtle against Brandon in the final Frontier. Think it was against Ninjask. I know Black and White haven't been released yet, but what do you think the third game will be called? Grey? And what do you think the chances are for a Battle Frontier in Isshu, come to think of it? Actually, is Isshu going to be the name of the region in English, or have we not heard anything about that yet? I haven't, just wondering if you guys have. |

We don't know. Regions generally keep similar names. I think Sinnoh was the first to change, from Shinou... It could well be Grey, but that doesn't mix with the ying/yang vibe, I reckon... Battle Frontier's a possibility. It might build on the Battle Subway or something... I wonder if Isshu is near Orre... |

Yeah, but if you're going to put a third game in, you'd ruin the ying/yang vibe anyway. There isn't a third part to that whole theory. |

They'll probably find a third part ![]() Kyurem is fairly grey though, so it's a good possiblity... |

I've just seen Meguroko. Looks a bit like a Gen 5 Flygon. What with being a ground type along with another rare and powerful type. I might get one actually when I get the games, but there is one problem I can see with James getting one. It's a ground type, which means that any time Ash has Pikachu shock Team Rocket, that would be unaffected. Also, I notice all the starters have the same levels for evolving. 17 and 36. Which is handy. I've seen them for the first time actually, Psyduck, I agree that the monkey's look cool. I also like the electric leech with Levitate. |

How come you've only just seen them? :/ Dark isn't automaticall "rare and powerful". Plenty of Dark types are crap, like Choroneko & Leparasudu (or whatever it's called...) Warubiaru's not great. We have another thread for this, so let's continue that there if you want to, but for Electric moves not affecting Ground types, I'd like to introduce you to my friends Brock's Onix & Blaine's Rhydon. It's an eel, not a leech. Like an electric eel. |

Because, the thing is I haven't been through and examined every single creature yet. Just checked some of them out at random. And my point is that most Dark types up to this point, the few and far between, have been pretty decent. Part of the reason for this, is I want there to be some surprise when I get the game and start to play it. I want to see something I've never seen before and just have a wow moment. That Choroneko looks a bit like Glameow. Ironic considering that I thought Glameow was a dark type when I first saw it. Come off it. It looks like the Martian Muck Leech from Futurama. AKA, the Dark One. (Ironic considering the above posts) Well, I can't post in the other thread now, can I? Because it'd be double posting, and if I make an edit for it, the thing could stand there for days before anyone notices it. |

I THINK I've decided on my team for Black...but I'm just a bit annoyed that the earliest any of the Pokémon I want can be caught is Route 6...to put that in perspective, after the fourth gym town... At the moment it looks to be Daikenki, Mebukijika, Shibirudon, Shandera, Tsunbear & Goruggo (which is perhaps my favourite Pokemon of the generation. I like Urugamosu, but...post-League only = fail). When you look at their sprites all together there is an unfortunate dominance of blue...but they're excellent Pokémon. Except for not being able to be caught until harshly late. It also bugs me that among the few slower Pokémon I have, none of them can learn Trick Room. EDIT: Hmm... I'm thinking maybe switch out Shandera for Erefuun...available much earlier, the only difference in movepools would be Windstorm instead of Flamethrower...but then I need another Fire user besides Shibirudon and nothing fits! Argh! Why do Game Freak taunt us with these possibilities & near misses!? |
