The Boss Baddie Who Never Fights

Yeah, the dressing was the only thing that was fun with the so called musical. The competitions were fun in gen IV with all its three phases, but being unable to influence the musical in gen V is a huge dissapointment. |

Fly's a really good move though :/ And you can't Fly until after five badges anyway. |

Would it be a bit cruel to suggest that Psyduck's social life has dropped over the last few days? Lol. Nah, I liked contests in the anime. Bit sad that they were never like that in the game. AKA glorified battlers. I've only just arrived in Castelia City, just looking around. Big place. I do have a Tranquill, but whether or not I'll keep it past the point when something better is available, I don't know. I do like the Big Pecks ability which is handy. But, either way, should come in handy in the gym. Thing with Braviary Hotrod is that it's like trying to raise a Dragonite given the level you have to bring it up to to evolve it. Don't know how good it is, but it must be at least half decent if it evolves at that level. Just so much new 'mon to try and get. Not enough time. Or experience. Anyone thinking of getting a Hydreigon at some point? |

Not really. Wouldn't even be unfair to think that. You'd be wrong though. Big place, mostly all style no substance. Hey, in Black I'll be raising a Larvesta from an egg - level 1. It evolves at level 59, the highest level for a single evolution ever (remember when Bug types evolved at level 7?). Whilst Rufflet doesn't evolve until level 54 you can catch it at level 36. Plus Rufflet's decent enough to use itself (as is Larvesta, incidentally, although Larvesta is actually Physical, unlike Special Volcarona). Definitely feeling the American release, fansites are so slow

Well, the American here got White! I already have a full team and got the Trio Badge. I'm now just training in the Pinwheel Forest so I can battle Lonera. Here's my team: Oshawatt, Blitzle, Pidove, Pansear, Musharma, Purrloin Now, Musharma was just an incident. I saw shaking grass and ran into it at Level 11. It's now at Level 14 and it's Psychic attacks are powerful. Might do training when I get up this morning. =D

I've remodelled my team a little bit by this point. Out have gone Pansear and Tranquil, in have come Darumaka, Sandile and Archen. What is pretty cool is, I don't know if anyone's noticed this, but when your Pokémon gets put to sleep, you can see that its eyes have closed on the sprite. |

I've made it through Victory Road, but I want to train up a bit before taking them on. One problem...they've taken away the Vs. Seeker. Who should I battle to ready for the league? Seriously, no way to rematch anyone? Apart from the few particular trainers you can battle once a day you can only rebattle the League... we haven't had this situation since Generation I. Awful, the Vs. Seeker is essential, unless you have a less effective alternative (i.e. Pokénav or Pokégear). Any suggestions as to where I should train? |

Someone has time on their hands. I only have three badges. And I have caught 31 Pokemon so far. However, here's what happened to me so far: - Finally beat Lenora courtesy of a Psychic Pokemon known as Musharma. ![]() - Stopped Team Plasma in Pinwheel Forest - Almost had a headache when I was walking into Castelia City... thanks Skyarrow Bridge and my phobia of heights. lol. - Everybody evolved but Blitzle and Pansear... Not counting Musharma either because I caught it when it was in the wild. - Went to Liberty Garden and caught Victini!!!!!! - Carved every inch of Castelia City. Was pretty sweet. The gym... however, a bit sticky. lol. - Beat Arty with Tranquil... damn that's one powerful Pokemon I have. Got the Insect Badge - Went to Nimbasa City and did some of the story arc and faced N... again. - Was going to challenge Elesa, but is now training. My Pokemon are all Level 24 except my Liepard, which is at Level 25. And I'm having fun in Nimbasa City. Don't really want to go anywhere else. However, I have to look at the badges again. Need to know what I am able to use outside of battle. I already know Cut and I have Strength. Edited by Yankee Blaze, Mar 8 2011, 10:05 PM.

Lucky bastard, getting Victini. Some of us don't have Wifi... Grrr... Nintendo... I don't think HM's are needed that much in this game in comparison to the other ones. I mean, there's been a few rocks here and there to push with Strength, but nothing blocking your path excessively. At least, nothing as far as I've got so far, I just got the badge from Clay. Incidentally, since when did Pokémon turn into the Legend of Zelda with the pushing rocks into holes thing. It's enough stealing the Seven Sages concept from Ocarina of Time, seriously... I don't know what to fill the sixth slot in my team with. Haven't done much over last few days for one reason or another, current team is Dewott, Archen, Darumaku, Zebstrika and Krokorok. Maybe a grass type, but can't think of anything I've got or come across. Did think about a Deerling, but it might cramp the style a bit. Ah, Elesa... My paralyzed Daramaku was superior to her entire team. Can't believe I've never really used the move Facade before that battle. Added to a naturally high attack and the hustle ability and it leads to carnage. My Sandile never got into battle, and he was meant to be the trump card. Hey, Hustle might lower accuracy, but it's better than that bloody ability Archen has. Incidentally, Darumaku in White has probably the greatest Pokédex entry I've ever read. It's a bit annoying that there's no VS Seeker, I agree. How else are you supposed to effectively train up. Reckon there's a pal park anywhere? |

You can't blame Nintendo for your lack of Wifi :/ You're right, HMs are used less, evidenced by their being fewer than the previous generation for the first time ever. Strength is a bit more common later, but Cut really is hardly seen. I predict it losing its status next generation. If you want a grass type I'd recommend Whimsicott. You also need a Psychic type on your team and once you get TM29 (sadly not until post league) it can learn it. It also has Hurricane, Shadow Ball, and incredible speed. It's Darumaka, by the way, not Darumaku ![]() Wow, you really don't read Serebii news updates or anything, do you? Yes, There's a new, similar system called Poké-Transfer accessible on Route 15. There's also a separate way to transfer Celebi, Raikou, Sucune & Entei to activate their events. |

Nope, I can't. However, I can blame them for putting it on Wifi, and it not being available in the main game. Do you actually need or get Surf at all in them? Whimsicott? Yeah, I'm not going to be using that for two reasons. One, it's not available in White and two, it's not available in White. That is technically one reason, but it's such a big problem I thought it was worth mentioning twice. I don't care, it's a Darmanitan now. Just like my Dewott and Archen evolved. Typo from somewhere, my obvious mistake Nope, I don't read them. |

Well you can get Whimsicott in White if you go to the city with Lenora in it (forgotten its name). You can trade a Petilil for a Whimsicott. |

Yeah, that might be so, but I'm not a fan of in-game trades. The trainers always have to give their critters such stupid bloody nicknames. |

Ow...your lack of knowledge of these games is painful to me...I've already stated in this topic the HMs, including Surf, Waterfall & Dive... Well if that's your excuse for not using Whimsicott you only have yourself to blame

Yep, well I said that I wanted to be surprised by what I was getting for once. I said that I wasn't going to go rooting through page after page of spoilers on fricking Serebii!!!!! I was just wondering about Surf because I hadn't gotten it yet, and there haven't really been any large bodies of water to go across so far. Of course, there could be some further on, but I haven't gotten there yet. So excuse me for not being perfect like you, Psyduck! Obviously I haven't been ploughing through it hour by hour, day by day just to try and glean everything that I can out of it and make myself look superior over everyone else on the forum. I don't care, I don't want to use a Whimsicott if some other bugger caught it and named it Whimi or the like. It'll just spoil the ambiance of my team, I'm a fan of using just stuff I've personally caught. My personal preferences, if you don't like it, you can go and find the closest dog and bite that. BTW, in case anyone's wondering, I'm in a bad mood at the moment because of other stuff. |
