I might work that into my next chapter of LZ, though it may not be the real Unova. Anyway, right now I've beaten Skyla and I'm pretty much chilling out at Nimbasa's two stadiums mooching money off the Sports Stars and their fans.

... Put them in your own damn fic. If you're going to give out orders like that, at least wait until Yankee vanishes off for a bit. There's no reason why you couldn't incorporate those two elements in. You've spent enough episodes in Hoenn, why not go to Unova for one. I know it's a long way, but hey, they've got a rocket. Which is more or less what I assume it's for. And, you had Lanette's ancestor. Why not have that guy's ancestor in there, maybe come up with a chapter where the TM program breaks or something, I don't know, I'm not the writer of Dino Force. |

Ok, calm down. I wasn't giving orders, I was just making a comment. I might incorporate it if it fits in, I was just pointing something out from the games. No need to get so aggressive over absolutely nothing whatsoever. On a less hostile note, now that I imagine most of us are probably fairly familiar with the new Pokémon, which type do you guys feel has gotten the best deal in regards to new Pokémon, and why? |

Oh, come on, I wasn't being intentionally aggressive, that first comment was meant to be more a humoured reaction... I should really stop forgetting to use emoticons... Hmmm... It's not something I've thought about, but compared to Gen 4, fire types got a great deal, there's a lot of them and y'know, some of them a quite good as well. There's some decent electric types as well. And, that old Pokémon saying comes into play (Well, I just made it up on the spot to prove a point, but you get the idea) you're always going to get a huge array of water types. And the dark types get some decent new additions as well. |

Ah...home for Easter now and it seems my original DS is more broken than I thought...I can't trade with myself to get Larvesta on Black early on...looking around to see if someone's got one I can borrow... Unless anyone here wants to help me out with a couple of Wifi trades? It'd mean me trading my Larvesta from White to one of you guys, then trading Larvesta to my Black. It'd be much appreciated :) As for types, yes, Fire has undoubtedly done excellently. Emboar, Simisear, Darmanitan, Chandelure, Volcarona (and even Larvesta isn't bad :P). The only new Fire type that isn't excellent is Heatmor. And two very nice new legendaries with long sought after type combinations. Not to mention Rotom. Electric...yeah, they've done ok. Galvantula is awesome, the best on my White team. Zebstrika is definitely good, I hate facing them used by opponents (especially Morimoto), but its lack of moves is just a shame. Of course, Eelektrik, but the low speed and again, fairly limited moves (though it's much better off than Zebstrika) is a shame. There's not much beyond that though; Emolga's usable, probably the best of the electric rodents, and Stunfisk...Stunfisk is just weird, though it has a nice movepool. Water...Water's probably done worse in this generation than any other. :/ Samurott's ok, though its not got the most diverse movepool, and Simisoak's not bad, but apart from that the only ones I'd even consider using are Swanna & Jellicent. For me it's Bug. There are some fantastic new bug types; Galvantula, Durant & Volcarona are all sensational, Accelgor's Speed is through the roof, but it can still pack a punch, Escavalier is good if you're defensive or you use Trick Room, same for Crustle, and Leavanny & Scolipede are great too. And of course, we finally have a Bug-type legendary that's not Arceus. First time the last Pokémon by National dex order can't be Psychic type too. |

What do you think of the psychic types in Gen 5? Let's face it. After Gen 4, pretty much anything with the fire types would have been a vast improvement. Apart from the starter being part fighting type again, which is starting to get old Think ice types have done poorly? Beartic's okay, but some of the others aren't so good. I tell you what. There's a decent variation of flying types in there. Unfeazant, Braviary, Swanna, Emolga, Mandibuzz, Archeops, Sigilyph... |

Psychic? Well Musharna's a turd. Reuniclus on a Trick Room team would be incredible, but otherwise useless. Gothitelle is extremely meh. Beheeyem's just nothing, trying to do what Reuniclus does but not as well. Swoobat is quick but that's about it. Sigilyph is by far this generation's best, I love that random thing. As for Zen Mode Darmanitan...it's just not usable. Only in Zen Mode when below 50% HP, so you're already half dead. Then you give it special moves and it can't do a thing until it's half dead. And when it is in Zen Mode its speed is abhorrent. Sure, it could be a wall for defensive players, but when it's only got half HP? Pointless. Ice is miserable. Vanilluxe & Cryogonal could be great, great stats, great design, no moves. Hopefully the tutors in Grey will fix that... Beartic is pretty good though, it might even be on my Black team. Still, it'd probably do better in Trick Room too. And it's also crying out for tutors, it longs for Thunderpunch (and when Golurk gets the punches...oh yes). Rotom could be interesting with a few extra moves though, STAB Boltbeam is nothing to turn your nose up at, even if it is forced to have Blizzard without Hail. Flying...I never really think about it. It's always secondary and my main concern is something to use Fly, so special flyers often get overlooked, and often they all do. Braviary rocks. Archeops could be good, but most of its best moves have poor accuracy, and it can't afford to miss because one hit and it's gone. But it's faster than most, and stronger than most (except for freaking Zebstrika...). Swanna is very meh. A few decent moves, though it needs more, and meh stats. Emolga, like I said, isn't unbearable, but it's worse than everything I've called meh. It just gets special treatment as it's totally unevolved (so unlike, say, Gothitelle, it could evolve again, and maybe even once more after that). Mandibuzz...love the design but it's awful. Like I said, Sigilyph rocks. Unfezant...good stats but awful movepool. Fan Rotom's a joke though... And of course, mad props to Tornadus for being the first pure Flying type, though of course it's a shame it's got two pallet swaps, even more so as they're both preferable... EDIT: FINALLY started Black, got my team sorted, and decided to nickname everything after Hamlet characters. I have used Claudius, a Servine, and Polonius, a Pansoak, but neither of them are in my overall party, just had to use them until I could get something I wanted. Currently I have Hamlet the Drilbur & Yorick the Cottonee. Actually makes it bearable when one of them faints. When Yorick faints it's "Alas, poor Yorick" (Horatio is probably going to be the next team member), and when Hamlet goes down it's "Goodnight, sweet Prince". It's fun coverting some Hamlet lines to Pokémon... Frailty, thy name is 4x weakness to the Rock type. Something is rotten in the region of Unova. Do you know me, my lord? Excellent well, you are a Magikarp salesman 'Tis awesome ![]() EDITY EDIT: MAJOR NEWS PEOPLE! You no longer needs badges to use HMs. For a while there were badges assigned and it was simply assumed you needed them, as you're unlikely to have those moves available before getting the HM, but I've just traded a Panpour with Surf via GTS, only four badges, and I'm Surfing! This is AMAZING news, I can go get my Larvesta egg two badges early! |

Yeah, so? I found that out when I traded a newly hatched Snivy for a lv. 1 Oshawott with Surf from the GTS, since I had a female Serperior for breeding purposes. That and I already knew that from the fact that the Gym Leaders didn't mention anything about HMs when you get the badges. Just surfing to the P2 Lab near Route 1 was enough to make my team strong enough to take on the Gym Leaders before you get the TM surf. It also enabled me to get my Axel before I got the actual HM. |

So, I didn't know that before, largely because Bulbapedia had listed badges needed to use HMs (which has now been removed), pretty major change that allows you to access certain areas much earlier, which I like. Since you realised you could have mentioned it earlier, I could have gotten my Larvesta as early as I could use GTS, after the first gym, it would have been my first long term team member. Wait, to have bred Snivy at all you'd have had to have met the Day Care Man in Nimbasa, so you wouldn't be much further into the game than I am now...surely by that point your team was strong enough to take on whatever you faced anyway? |

Really, I could have sworn that the Daycare was usable once you beat the first gym. Still, beating lv. 30 opponents with huge exp boosts is a plus.

You can leave one Pokémon there (maybe even two, but I doubt it) but the Daycare Man isn't there to give any eggs. |

Anyway, the Pokémon Global Link is now online, since the launch was moved to April 13th, so if anyone has Wifi, you can send your Pokémon to the Dream World. Kinda like a Birthday present for Bongo, if he had Wifi. ![]() I've already sent my Pikachu there.

Yeah. I do like that you can link a Black cartridge and a White one, rather than just one. Gonna take a while to earn some points to actually get something decent though. |
