Every other water/flying can't use fly which I find ridiculous.
I choose you, Wingull and/or Pelliper.

And look at my username then take a wild guess, Bongo.

Oh... Heh heh.

Wait, I've never heard of a water type called Ranger before. Is that one of the new ones from the new region?

Anyone else know why Gyarados is a water/flying type? Most pointless typing ever.

An evolution for Pachirisu would be good actually. It might be worth having then. Anyway, an evolution for Spiritomb would be pretty sweet. Something like... I don't know, a Jack-O-Lantern. That sort of figure. The long black coat like body and a head that's not too similar to it is now. Or maybe go for an Exeggutor style thing where it has three heads.

Probably not likely, but still, I think that would be sweet.

Because Dragon was a worthless type in Generation I; only one move, which did a fixed amount of damage, and the only type it's super-effective against is Dragon anyway. The weaknesses & resistances that are different between Dragon & Flying apparently didn't occur to them back then.

The same is true of Aerodactyl, and possibly Charizard, although as a starter that may have made it unfairly unbalanced - although with Flying it now has two STAB types that Venusaur's weak to, they didn't seem to care about that back then either. So yeah, same applies for Charizard.

Pretty much anything that's Pachirisu's size and is one-stage needs an evolution, and many will get them, in time. Just look at Luvdisc, finally growing up.

You think they should change it at this point?

Yeah, Dragon has got better as time goes by. Although, anyone think that Garchomp isn't as good as Salamence or Dragonite? Then again, the ground type is different, so it's an unfair comparison.

I think Charizard turned out okay. Although it's the only one of the original starters to have a double weakness. (Rock). So...

We got a name for the deer. Also, the blue things on the swan are natural. The region bug pokemon also looks pretty cute. Should be good to train.

Yeah...the bra is weird...and that bug...I'm not the only one thinking Hungry Caterpillar right? Also thinking Wormmon's dedigivolved form Minomon...although we had Wormmon in Caterpie...who was the Worm Pokémon...is it just me or does Japan not realise what a worm is?

Anyway, who cares about that? Victini is Psychic/Fire! Another Fire type, with an awesome combination, and just generally awesome for being number 000!

EDIT: Junishi Masuda has just announced possibly the most radical change to the series since Generation III (which makes sense, like that this is thought to somewhat be a reboot-esque thing); Black & White will not feature ANY pre-Generation V Pokémon prior to getting the National Pokédex. That means we're getting a whole new experience. This may explain why we're seeing few Pokémon related to previous generations, and I'd imagine those Pokémon are only available after the National Dex too.

Whilst it may seem obvious, I don't know if this means no older Pokémon will be in the Isshu regional dex, but if it does, this means that there will officially be NO Pokémon available in every regional dex.

There are currently 25 Pokémon available in every regional dex (including the Platinum expansion). Obviously all of these Pokémon are from Generation I, to be in the Kanto dex.

There are only six that have been in every one since Generation II, 28 since Generation III, and 100 since Generation IV (just the Generation IV Pokémon that are actually in the Sinnoh dex (Platinum expansion)).

150 new pokemon will be good. Nice to start a new region as a new beginning. But hopefully they'll have evolutions of old Pokemon in the national dex. Hopefully...

But as for what we know, wha starter will you guys pick? FOr me its either Tsutarja or Mijumaru. Wat about u guys?

Nobody said well be getting 150 new ones, just that there won't be any old ones in the Isshu dex.

I'll return to your questions shortly, because right now, we have news. Pachirisu evolution? Yeah, I think we've got it. Flying Squirrel? Yeah, we've got it. Electric/Flying? Yeah, for the first time since freaking Zapdos we've got it!

It's called Emonga. It's yellow, black and white, so no blue like Pachirisu, but it looks rather like Pachirisu, it's a squirrel, and it's electric type, so I think it's safe to assume.

Gigaiasu has finally been made official. It's just a rock type, simple as.

Hihidaruma seems to have some ball thing as a pre-evolution, and our deer friend Shikijika is quite surprising - Normal/Grass! It's appearance will vary, apparently, based on the season. Which is epic in and of itself, it means that when we see it in the anime, we'll know what time of year it's meant to be for them. It'll actually be a really good time keeper for us if it appears often :P

Still, I think Emonga is the most interesting thing right now. A great, unique typing, appearing on almost certainly evolved Pokémon, so it may actually be usable! The only problem is it looks rather small...I'm worried its stats may fail...it also doesn't look big enough to Fly...but hey, neither does Pidgey.

Still, this is clearly going to be a good generation for two types that often recieve the raw deal, Fire & Electric.

Hmmm i dont think its an evo for pachirisu... but it could be the isshu's region pikachu. However, I reckon Emonga will evolve into a really cool pokemon.

The ball thing looks kinda weird... but it still should be interesting. And Shikijika is pretty cool now. Anyone else thinking that it will actually have an evo and change type when the season changes? Might just be me but... who knows...

But it definitely is looking like a good region. And so far im lovin it

Probably I'll get the water type. It's what I usually do. But, I'll probably see which has the coolest looking evolutions first.

Emonga does sorta look like Pachirisu...

But, an entire new Pokedex is good. Maybe there'll be a Safari Zone at the end after the dex is completed where you can find 85% of the Pokémon from previous games.

We got more Pokemon!!!

We've got some blue guppy like pokemon. Im guessing Isshu's version of Magikarp.

A grass Koala I think! And cute! definitely looks cool.

The swan now has its japanese name revealed.

Shikijika will evolve into something similar to a raindeer

And anothe rplant like pokemon but looks a little creepy...

And I get where you guys are getting the similarites from Pachirisu from but I really doubt its an evolution. Mainly since it looks like its in the Pre-National Dex. And I just don't see the exact same shape as Pachirisu... And its not what I would picture it like...

An evolution doesn't have to be the exact same shape, they often aren't. For examplke, Gyarados is slightly different to Magikarp. But Emonga is the same type, based on the same species, and rather similar looking to Pachirisu. Bare in mind we've also got Mamanbou (and we have its Sugimori art in this same CoroCoro, which is more or less confirmed to evolve from Luvdisc. If they're not both evolved, then what the hell. They just are. Diamond & Pearl had loads of Pokémon that evolve from previous generations that weren't in the Regional Dex, and there are some Pokémon that have still never been in a regional dex. This stuff happens these days.

Yes, not the most exciting of creatures...it's the lovechild of a fish and Eeyore.

Wow. You just made me realise something. Magikarp. Tentacool. Geodude. Zubat. They're all gone. I'm not sure how I feel about this...they're annoying, but...that's just because in caves and on water you're never out of the tall grass...

I shall continue with my thoughts later, i'm at work now :P

We've also got the colours for Shikijika confirmed. Pink=Spring, Summer=Green, Autumn=Orange and Winter=Brown. I would've thought winter would be gray or black or something but oh well.

We've also have Aloe confirmed as a Gym Leader from Shippo City. Weird name but oh well.

Yes well with Emonga we'll find out soon enough if its evolved. However, if we had money, I would bet ten dollars that its not an evolution or pre evolution of Pachirisu

EDIT!!! We've all been had!!! Most of them were fakes! The grass monkey, blue guppy, white swan's name and shikijika's evolveed form were all fakes. And they looked so real as well... damn them... gettin our hopes up so high...

Well, it might have been fake, but I doubt it'll be far from the truth. The swan's gonna have a name, the "Cauliflower Pokémon" koala/monkey (Cauliflower Pokémon? I knew it was too good to be true) has been seen before, a toy of it (although it appeared alongside a brown Kibago, so it may have been scrapped - or that might have been a shiny Kibago - or the toys might have been made by a faker before Kibago's art came out based on the Best Wishes concept art where it's colourless, with an extra one made riding on the Kibago toy's credibility - who knows - and Magikarp and other similar Pokémon will have to have something in their place.

But the Shikijika evolution shadow did look suspicious. It was just weird...again, I expect there'll be something similar, but...weird...

Oh come on, they're based on the same species, they have a type in common, and they have a rather similar design. Them not being related would be like them introducing a Fire-type primate with a red/flame design that's not related to the Infernape line...wait...

Seriously though, Hihidaruma, I think it will actually be awesome, and I even like the design, but it fails at originality.

Why is "Aloe" so weird? That's her Japanese name, remember, where a name like "Ikue Ohtani" is presumably the norm. Also bare in mind that we have a gym leader called "Gardenia". I mean what the hell is that? Seriously, there are plenty of normal names which relate to types, as I proved by attributing the DW names to types, and indeed Nintendo proved themselves in Generation I.

So it turns out the "seasons" will only last one month each. I can understand why, so we actually experience them in a decent time...but seriously, that's Tauros.

EDIT: Furthermore, it seems the name "Burokko", which was given to the plant monkey, was already known, leaked, apparently, it regards to a playdoh set that will be coming out. That's from a PokéBeach page from a few weeks ago. So I guess they took an exisiting image & an existing name and slapped them together, then created the fish to fill the gap that will presumably be left at the end of our Old Rods.

I've found a Spanish website that hasn't yet taken the fakes down, and saved the image of the full spread, just in case we ever want it :P Let me know if you happen to want a look, I'll post it.

When you think of it, a lot of gym leader names are strange.

Brock... Okay, maybe a little unusual, but not strange.
Misty.... Not really.
Surge... Yeah, unusual. Unless it's a surname.
Erika... Not really.
Sabrina... Ditto.
Blaine... Again, it might be a surname. But, a little strange.
Giovanni... Unusual in England, but not uncommon elsewhere.

Falkner... Yeah. A bit strange.
Bugsy... Hell yeah... How many people do you know called Bugsy?
Whitney... Not really. One of the more normal ones.
Morty... Little bit.
Chuck... Fairly normal.
Jasmine... Likewise.
Pryce... Probably a surname. Not really a common first name.
Claire... Do I even have to dignify this with a response?

Roxanne... Nah, normal.
Brawly... What the hell? Got to be a nickname.
Wattson... Probably more likely to be a surname.
Flannery... Quite exotic. But strange.
Norman... Fair enough.
Winona... Yeah, there's nothing wrong with that.
Tate and Liza... Fair does. Tate is a bit strange, but not overly.
Juan/Wallace... Nah. Although when I think of Wallace, I think he should have a plasticine dog with him.

Roark... What? How many people do you know called Roark?
Gardenia... I agree with Psyduck.
Maylene... Yeah, normal compared to the other two.
Fantina... She's French and can get away with a strange name.
Wake... Bit unusual...
Byron... A lot more normal than his son's name.
Candice... Ditto the above comment. Apart from the son comment.
Volkner... Yeah... not at all.

So... They have seasons in Black and White? What...

YAY!!!! No ZUBAT!!!!!!!! I HATE THOSE FRICKING THINGS!!!!!!! EVER SINCE THAT TIME I GOT STUCK IN MT. MOON BACK IN POKÉMON BLUE!!!! THANK YOU NINTENDO!!!!!!
