Now I know I'm a big user of pepakura to make stuff from..point in example my HALO master chief and HALO reach...But I know there are a lot out there that pooh pooh it for making props...I think this is because it makes things readily available, and some think that all it takes is a bit of cutting and gluing and you get a finished product.

Myself i think it's a very valid tool, as i model things myself, i get to create a prototype and see if it will look the way i want, before covering it in fibre glass aor urethane and then going through sanding and filling later.

Here's an example of what I'm using it for.

Those that poo poed it at first didnt really see the possibilites of it . Originally it was used for making costumes and armour but it has now moved into hand props and the like. For many who are starting out it is a great introduction to propbuilding and very cheap too and without the need to buy lots of tools and materials .

I personally think its great and will go from strength to strength , not that i have done any yet but its something i have looked into and intend to try as soon as i can.

Great job on the modelling there Martin B)

No and you should be ashamed of what you've already made,so ashamed that you should send your props to me for disposal.

But on a more serious note i think its a perfectly valid tool, and one i think its about time i tried out.Just thought of a perfect use for it too.My HIC side panels.I think Pep would be ideal for these.

:$ I feel the shame :P

I think using pep might be a way to do your side panels mate...but probably best to use it to provide flat templates that you ciould transfer to styrene etc and buld that way

I really lke pep as a tool. Very often it makes for a nice base or outline.
it cant be pepd, glued together then painted. Which is what some on the young'uns do. The pep is only the start.

Once u get used to it though, u realise some of the finer detail is better scratch built on top of the main piece.
