Started this as a basic scratchbuild commission and as a workshop at the NSC Star Wars event in May , the further i got into it it got less basic !! So at the NSC event I decided to carry on with it as a master to take a mold from as it would be to flimsy to troop with . With the kind help of Greg Alonso's MR Leia Blaster at the event for reference and a resin copy from Adam Davidson for keeps ( much thanks guys) I got carving and sanding !
It seems no-one in the UK makes either version so I decided to make a master that I could mold both from .
Early stages of the main body made from MDF

Heres what i did at the NSC event
cut and carved the grips from MDF and made some grip material by finding a piece of food packaging with a diamond type pattern and spraying with release agent. I then poured a thin coat of resin over it and when cured cut to rough size with scissors.

That's looking REAL good!

I made one up a few years ago out of MDF, filler and then machined up the barrel and suppressor parts. Didn't finish it though. Not as good as yours! It's around here somewhere though :D
