Hi guys, had no problems forming lenses in the past for smaller eye sockets. But having trouble finding tinted lense material that is easily vacformed in larger peices, ie. a Dredd helmet lense. Acrylics seem to be hygrascopic and bubble up in larger peices without using an abs dryer Any help would be great. Even if I cant find it, I Dont even mind farming the forming out if someone is experienced in it |

Hey mate was speaking to John earlier , he was saying he just keeps his abs in the house ( in the warm) and he doesn't have a problem , maybe behind a radiator for a day before forming

I use PTEG for visors it's softer than I'd like but forms really well....and from what I gather you can use tail light tints on it too to darken or frost it |

I've had great success using tinted motorbike visor's on my dredd helmet builds. And because they are precurved as it's basic shape they are easy to fit and look cool to. Ebay sell them pretty cheap, once you have it you can trim the sides off to enable it to fit your helmet. Good luck and don't forget to post pics up when your done :-) |
