Sorry, not been building for a while so when a friend mentioned he was doing a Planet of the Apes Gorilla soldier I couldn't resist. this a complete scratch build, the metal componants were bits of scrap that were cut and filed and welded together the stock is a piece of 6" x 2" hand carved to what you see, it turned out a little darker than expected but hey ho, i think it looks like it was built by monkeys so can't be far off track, Enjoy the photo's.

Glad to see you've gone for a 'this is how it should look' approach with the strap being attached with gun swivels (i think thats what they're called) rather than going the movie approach and screwing the strap to the side of the body! God looking gun, esp the cocking mechanism.

Cheers Martin,

Was black to begin with but the resin reacted to the primed wood, must have been damp or had sap in it as for the swivels on the POTA 1978 they had swivels attached on the Hero version,

Next one will be black and i'm gonna improve the cocking action to try and get it a bit smoother.

Guy.
