Actions in the rsmdb cc, like avoiding being kicked, multi account spamming, could be punishable on the forums, just a thought. |

I don't think that the things you do in the CC should be punishable in the forums to and vice-versa. They are separate and have different rules. You can do/say things here that you can't in game and it would just get too confusing. Tho there are extreme cases where I think it should apply. *coughRuler33333cough* |

I was meaning like really bad, or extreme cases only, not like spam a bit and flame, get 50% warning, that would just be too far - i was meaning if it keeps happening, and its a direct blow to rsmdb (the full thing, forums, irc, clan chat etc) then it could be punishable on the forums |

There should also be a limit on how big sigs can be as it's annoying when the page takes twice as long to load because of massive sigs. :/ |

http://emoscript.com/S.png is only 26 chrs long - and can be as big as I like, people can use stuff like tinypic etc - and the sigs can be huge as hell - an example is kiri's sig - I had to adblock all of the deaths there. I agree there needs to be a size limit, but I'm suggesting a higher character limit, since some people use 4 or 5 SMALL images, and some text/links - so it can be hard to sit it into 500 chars. Like I said, this is just a suggestion, and not totally needed. |

Can't limit the sigs because they're in a HTML TD, tables always expand to make room for their contents. I'm sure there's scripts for it, but I'm trying not to add too much javascript, because it increases loading time and makes the forum more sluggish. Sigs that are clearly too big will be removed, but measuring peoples sigs to keep them under a certain limit is too time consuming. So we just go off what we see as being too big. As for more characters, I think limiting it is a better option, it can be annoying for people wanting to put links and stuff, but it also stops people putting like 20 pics in their sig. With the character limit being higher the average sig height would probably also increase. People will be adding more images before hitting the limit, at least with a smaller limit they can only add so many images, then they will have to choose which ones they are going to get rid of. People are less likely to add one big image to their sig, than adding a bunch of goal/stat sigs or sigs they've had made etc. I'ma be re-doing the rules again soon, a whole forum section will be dedicated to 'community guidelines', so there should be a thread for signatures and some guidelines can be added to that about signatures and tips for making the most out of the character limit. Might give more characters a try after that's done, but if there's any noticeable increase in the average height of peoples sigs then it will have to go back |
