hmm, well, the best stuff to farm is,

Herbs,Trees and fruit trees.

You can do a quest to unlock a disease free herb patch, that quest is called "my arm's big adventure"

Herb Patches

Always use super compost for your herb patches, then after you use super compost, plant the herb seed and move to your next herb patch, do this until all your herb patches are planted.

Tree Patches

plant Maple trees (pay the farmer 1 basket of oranges) plant these until you reach level 60 farming, then you can plant yew trees (pay farmer 10 cactus spines), then plant those until you can plant magic trees (level 75 farming) (pay farmer 25 coconuts)

if you want to do trees a bit cheaper, you can plant maple trees until you can plant magic trees, i'd recommend planting magic trees at 75 farming because they are excellent exp :P (all tho quite costly :P ) if you find yourself with not much money, you can stick with maple trees for as long as you want.

Fruit Trees

Plant Curry trees (pay farmer 5 baskets of bananna's )until you can plant
Pineapple trees (pay farmer 10 watermelons, then plant those until you can plant papaya trees (pay farmer 10 pineapples) then the final fruit tree, plant palm trees (pay farmer 15 papaya's)

Again with fruit trees..if you can't afford to plant higher level seeds, just plant something lower, until you feel it's the right time to plant higher seeds.

Why is it important to pay farmers?

paying the farmer the right stuff (as i mentioned above) will make them watch over your tree's and make them grow without your tree dieing!

Well, i can continue with more stuff, but then i might as well just turn this into a guide... lol.

Anyways, hope you learned something, if you need more help on farming, such as, where the patches are located, etc, then be sure to check the runescape manual :) .

not at all, the only stuff costly is the seeds lol.

i forgot to answer one of your questions.

Yes, your seeds will grow, even when you're logged out :P .

if you pay the farmer like i mentioned, they will never die.

However, you can't pay any farmer to watch your herb seeds, so those have a chance of dieing, but with super compost, they will be alive A LOT more then they will die.

So don't worry, as long as you pay the farmer to watch over you trees/fruit trees and use super compost for herb patch, you will be fine.

If there's a dead herb, take it out with a spade, so you can re-plant another seed there.

You can bring the farmers your payment noted, unless the payment is a basket of fruit, which only takes up one space anyway.
