Jagex is proud to present RuneFest 2010! RuneFest 2010 will be the first ever real-world event of its size for RuneScape players. Taking place on Saturday 28th August, the event will be held at an exciting central London venue.

RuneFest will include a range of events and activities, with more details to follow in the coming weeks. Crucially, we will be including Insider Sessions with the team behind RuneScape as an opportunity for the players and ourselves to get to know each other better.

We’re holding the event as a fan celebration to thank our dedicated RuneScape players around the world for their support and to have a really good time together in real-life. In Andrew’s own words, "I’ve always wanted to go to an event like this, but I realised the only way that was going to happen was if we put it on ourselves. So we are!"

Keep an eye on www.RuneFest.com to keep up to date with the latest news and information about this landmark event, and make sure you register for updates and the opportunity to buy a ticket 24 hours before the rest of the world.

We hope to see you there!
The RuneScape Team

Please note that alcohol will be available at this event, for which proof of age will be required. Because of this, the event will only be suitable for our adult fans.

How the fuck will this lose members? It's not an actual in-game update, so people cant quit over it. They can just choose not to go to it, so Jagex dont lose money because of members quitting, they gain money because of people buying tickets, and if anyone quits over this they have serious retardation problems

Time for a peaceful life.
Reason why Jagex shouldn't do this:
-Drunken Runescape players will start to riot about updates or drop everything on their rs account because they are drunk
-People under 16/18 can't come, typical for Jagex!Just forbid alcohol then! There will always be somes -16s who come through the lvl 21 guards
-The last reason:There can show up a random 11 years old kid shooting at everyone saying:Bring back old wilderness!
Playing since late 2006 on I xerke I AKA 8484J
RIP xerke banned on 27/01/2008,playing since 2003

yea runescape is to poor but yet they can afford to do stuff like this for the whole rs community. They have tons of servers that can hold up to 2k people and those aren't cheap to pay.

also, there not doing this to make money. There doing this for the rs community and if they do end up making any profit off this, it's going straight to charity.

i hate when people talk crap about stuff like this when they don't know the reason behind something.

Hi guys,

I can tell you that we are not going to make any money from Runefest and the price of the tickets is to cover the costs. Should we end up with any profit from the ticket sales, we will donate it to charity.

This isn't a money making exercise, it is something we are doing for the fans.

Mat.
