£75 per ticket and it's only for a day, I lol'd.

That wouldn't even cover transportation for most people, I can't imagine what they could possibly be purchasing for the day to charge so many people such an outrageous price.

Ok so there is no way in hell I could ever go BUT if I could I would wear a name tag that says, "Hello, my name is Zezima" and I would hold a sign that says "We pay we say" and I would get wasted.

Reason why Jagex shouldn't do this:
-Drunken Runescape players will start to riot about updates or drop everything on their rs account because they are drunk
-People under 16/18 can't come,typical for Jagex!Just forbid alcohol then!There will always be somes -16s who come through the lvl 21 guards
-The last reason:There can show up a random 11 years old kid shooting at everyone saying:Bring back old wilderness!
Just because there will be alcohol doesn't mean people will get drunk, grow up, that's like saying someone who owns a gun, will kill all the people who enters his house.

And jagex is far from being poor, Andrew Gower alone is worth more than $150,000,000.

Anyway, no way I'll go, but maybe depending on how the event goes on, I can consider going to future ones.

Fake ID for booze
Ginger wig to look older
£75 blagged from my mother and a £30 train ticket. Like £100 for a night in a cheap hotel

and such a goooood idea Jacob. I would so go if I had the balls to meet runescapers IRL w/o the fear of being hacked by them.

Lol lucky for you it would only cost like 200 for your whole trip. Would probably end up costing me near $1000...

wow £75? lol.

If it's £75 i'd expect an open bar tbh.

But i doubt that anyway. So for most people it would be say £100 for a hotel room, £75 for the event, £25+ for most peoples transport and possibly aroun £50 on drinks keeping in mind that it's London so it's not cheap. So somewhere around £250 for one night, lol. Still easily £100+ if you live close to where the event is going to be held, kind of ridiculous. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, just it's a little pricey.

Today, we’re extremely excited to announce that RuneFest 2010 tickets for those who have registered on the RuneFest website will be on sale from 10:00am (BST) on Friday, April 30th. Tickets will then be available on general release the following day (Saturday, May 1st) at 10:00am (BST). The event opens on Saturday, 28th August, running from 9:30am to 7:00pm. Tickets will be priced at £75 each.

But that’s not all! To celebrate the video making talent within the RuneScape community, Jagex will be holding the first Golden Gnome Awards, culminating in a live ceremony at RuneFest 2010.

In a new twist to RuneScape's previous machinima competitions, players can create videos based on two video themes and across three categories for the chance to win a coveted Golden Gnome Award. The two themes are 'Short Story' and 'RuneScape Music Video' (aka RSMV), and the three categories within each theme are 'Machinima', 'Animation' and 'Live Action Video'.

As such, six awards are up for grabs in the following categories:

* Short Story in Machinima
* Short Story in Animation
* Short Story in Live Action Video
* RSMV in Machinima
* RSMV in Animation
* RSMV in Live Action Video

The RuneScape Community Management team will be providing more information and official RuneScape music tracks for the RSMVs next week.

Once the entries are in, the RuneFest 2010 judges will select their favourite entries for each of the categories. The results will be announced at a live awards ceremony at RuneFest 2010 on Saturday 28th August 2010.

We’ve seen some phenomenal levels of creativity from RuneScape's video making community over the years, and at RuneFest 2010 we’re going all out with our biggest and most comprehensive video competition to date. We can’t wait to meet some of our finest video makers on the red carpet.

For further information on RuneFest 2010, and for full entry details, term and conditions and dates for entry, please visit the RuneFest website. The nominees will also be announced on the RuneFest 2010 website when the poll is opened.

We can’t wait to see your videos!

this better be another late april fools joke by jagex..
I know a large amount of rs players are from england but holy sheet,£75=115 Dollars in USD... for like two days...?
If your from the US..
Plane ticket+
Hotel+
Food/Drinks+
Gas+
Other expensives..=
Over 1000....
and this all just for runescape......................................................................................................................
there will probably be some idiots screaming outside the gates for old wildy
i could go to a anime-con,and star wars con possibly cheaper than all this.
Now if you're from england...probably going to cost wayy cheaper but,i'm pretty sure a large-player base of RS is from the USA...and i don't think anyone is gonna dish out 1K+ USD to go too england,just for runescape....oh yeah....lets compare the amount of 16/18 year olds that play rs compared to the 12 year olds..
/thread.
I'm just sayin.

We’d like to share with you a few more details of the RuneFest 2010 event, before tickets go on sale tomorrow for those players who have registered on the RuneFest website (and then on general sale this Saturday).

RuneFest attendees will witness the world of RuneScape brought to life in various forms, including themed areas with interactivity for players to experience real-world activities such as live role-playing, ogre wrestling and archery skills. The venue will also play host to dedicated clan/group areas, RuneScape-themed food and drink venues (including the Poison Arrow Pub) and many interactive games and amusements, making the day one to remember.

We’ve already announced the Golden Gnome Awards, which will have a live awards ceremony at RuneFest, as well as the Insider Sessions which will give you the opportunity to speak directly with the Jagex team. There will be other live events announced over the coming weeks, plus competitions on the day. Players will also be privy to an exclusive gameplay experience on-site that will be like nothing you’ve experienced before.

All attendees will receive a bag of goodies upon entry, which will contain limited edition complimentary RuneScape and RuneFest 2010 merchandise, an exclusive collector’s entry pass and more.

The Jagex team is also welcoming RuneScape costumes and clan clothing for fans to get fully involved in what is set to be a RuneScape event that will go down in history.

RuneFest 2010 tickets for those who have registered on the RuneFest website will be on sale from 10:00am (BST) on Friday, April 30th. Tickets will then be available on general release the following day (Saturday, May 1st) at 10:00am (BST). The event opens on Saturday 28th August, running from 9:30am to 7:00pm. Tickets will be priced at £75 each.
