Clippers acquire: SF Jamal Mashburn, PF Marlon Maxey, C Yinka Dare, & 1995 2nd round draft pick Heat acquire: PF Donald Hodge, C Oliver Miller & 1995 first round draft pick My thinking is that tgr Clippers need a lot of help that their first round pick alone cant give to them. Mashburn, Maxey, and Yinka are all solid players that would help build their young core a lot faster - especially without a GM around. Danny Manning is getting older at the PF position and the guy behind him is Donald Hodge who is complete trash. Throw Maxey over and you have a replacement for when the Manning man leaves (plus if a GM takes over after they could probably deal him since his contract is horrible and they would have Maxey). To match up contracts I put Oliver Miller who is respectable in his own right but it was either him or Chuck Person/Jay Humpries and those two are the only decent things to touch the Clippers recently. <_< So I'd assume taking Miller would still leave them with a solid Center in OP. JStarr gave the okay to post. |

So, I assume we have the same deal going on as far as GM's voting. At first glance, I do not like this trade. After looking at it closely, I still am not 100% sold on it, but I can't find any reason to completely and definitively say no to it. My only problem with these computer run team trades is that when someone does take over, and they don't have a 1st this offseason, they are going to be in the same boat I was when I took over the Bucks. I have no idea who I got for that first, but from looking at the team, I am certain I would not have made that trade. I can't say no though, because this is as close to fair as I think we can get with a person trading with a team that is not controlled by someone. |

Pretty much until we get these last four teams filled, everyone (especially PJR) is gonna keep hounding me for either any franchise players these teams might have, or rape them of all their first round picks. It looks like he wants to get into a rebuilding mode with the Heat, and guys like Mash and Maxey might be reasonable chips for the Clippers. This actually may be the most reasonable offer I've ever fielded for an LCT. |

Looks fine to me. I would rather have Mashburn than almost anyone in the draft based on the class right now, and the other players are solid young guys. The only thing I don't like about it is that it might make the Clippers a harder team to find a GM for, since most GMs prefer to build their teams rather than inherit them. But as a deal, I don't see a big problem with it. |

The only real problem I have with it is that if the clippers don't get a GM before the off season they will not resign Polynice and Yinka would be the only center on the roster... however if a GM is found and they do resign Polynice this trade would make them deep enough to become an instant playoff contender. I'd say yes to the deal here though. |
