Miami Heat acquire:
PF Antonio McDyess
PG Charlie Ward

San Antonio Spurs:
PF Bo Outlaw
PF Michael Cage
1996 first round draft pick (Nuggets)

Although the Spurs GM is an asshole, we've reached an agreement... The Heat have a log jam at PF with a lot of a talent so sending a potential 15/10/2/2 guy in Bo along with a 8/8 guy off the bench in Michael Cage. I get a couple years younger in the starting PF position with McDyess who should be a little better than Bo in a couple of years which works for me since I'm not ready to be a contender right away. I'm also sending a low end first next year to even it out as I'll be getting a backup PG in Ward since the Spurs had a handful of PGs on their side.

Once again, I'm going to ask for league approval on this one.

Well, I think Cage at this point is basically a bench guy who will last at most 2 more quality seasons, so he's not a great value. McDyess is the 31 overall pick and seems like a certainty to be a quality player to All-Star for years to come. Outlaw is something of a gamble to ever be a good enough scorer, although his defense looks solid already. He also has C potential. I think adding Ward gives Miami a lot too since he looks lik ehe could pan out to be at least a solid back-up at PG/SG. The pick will probably suck (Even with Dubb dead Denver still has a solid core of talent and won their division just last year. Oh, and they are young). I can't see it as bad enough to say no too, but Miami certainly seems to be getting the better end of the deal.

No way in hell.

If it was Reeves and Outlaw, perhaps. But not Cage.

I actually agree exactly with Hajj. I don't see enough to justify saying absolutely no to this, but it does seem like one team is getting a little bit better of a deal. Still, I don't think it's all that fun to be nitpicking every single detail of every single trade. There have been some absolutely horrible proposals from several people, but all in all, it's not like this move isn't going to help both teams. It's just helping one a bit more on the surface of things. I'm going to say yes, if only because I don't like the standard that we are starting to set of it becoming next to impossible to trade unless it is outright perfect for both sides.

Well, two out of three who give a shit enough to respond have no issue here, so I guess I'll send it through.

But, seriously, I am thisclose to outlawing a GM trading with himself altogether. All I need is one that looks like an owner's using one team as a farm club and it's done.
