Have him come clean my drive too!
LOL He's great! $15 a plow and he doesn't charge us if it's snows a lot and he comes back to plow again during the same snowfall!
That's cheap!

Y'all have fun up there! We didn't even get the light drizzle down here. Right now it's cloudy and 32 degrees in W-S. Chilly but not to bad - not to bad at all.
Thanks! You've had enough of Mother Nature this winter, haven't you?
Right now, I'm doing my normal everyday stuff and it's 15 degrees, with a wind chill of 2! *shiver*

I have a snow blower for when it gets bad but I haven't fired it up in a few years now. Usually only takes about ten to fifteen minutes to clear my drive. Not that bad.

We've never had a snow blower. Are they all they are cracked up to be?

It's nice when the drive gets drifted. I have asthma so too long out there shoveling can set me off. For our normal three to four inch snows I just shovel it but for deep wet snow the blower comes in handy. They're kind of worthless for a light snow.

Well, there isn't much in my little corner of the state but the schools shut down and I know my hubby will probably work from home tomorrow

Have to call my mom and see how she's doing! Thanks!

I just heard the Dallas-Ft. Worth airport is closed. Sucks for anyone trying to get down there for the Super Bowl today.

Yeah, Mother Nature is certainly spreading her wrath around, isn't she?

This week is going to be a lousy week to try and travel anywhere!

I bought a generator in 2006 after a storm rolled through St. Louis in July in knocked out power for a week. Its all gassed up in the garage and ready to go if anything should happen. But let's hope I won't have to use it.

Yeah. I've got 2 things going for me down here:

1) I live 5 blocks from a hospital and my house is on the same grid. Unless the power line goes down I'm on a priority section of the power restoration.

2) I work in construction so I can get my hands on a generator if needed. We also have a gas stove & gas logs so cooking and heat are not a big problem.

Here it's just gonna be mostly snow, lots of it, but shouldn't affect power. Just a matter of relaxing for couple days while they clear the roads.
St Louis is more in the ice zone, that's scary. My cousin down that way was without power for a week a couple years ago. Not fun.
Got the national guard called out here in Missouri already. Not a good sign.
Oh well, easy to keep the beer cold.

I passed a Wal-Mart on my way home from work yesterday and literally there were cars parked on the side of the roads because the parking lot was full. People are going crazy.

It is absolutely STUPID here in mid-MO. Quarter sized snowflakes on top of the ice! Yahoo.

Skoff and the rest, you probably already know this but if you are worried about power going out, fill bathtubs with water in case you are on a well like I am so you will have fresh water and can flush toilets. May sound weird to you all in the city but in the sticks it can make life a lot better!

I am not going to work today and I am crushed my posse is going to close the doors at noon. I gave them the through sleet and rain and snow and dark of night and meteorites and attacks by neighboring cities, we stay open speech. I can't repeat what they said to me in response on a conference call, but I think what I gleaned from that response is, we will be closed at noon. It's mutiny I tell ya. Just because they live in town on level ground they think they push old roy around. Seems to me that they can!

Gotta love being in Springfield, IL like I am. Since apparently we've exhausted a lot of the salt funds already, the city has started using sand on the roads. Good thing I wasn't planning on going out today.
