what Darlene said
dont be so coy. we know youre like a snickers bar. hard and crunchy outside, creamy nugget in.
How do I get banned for $500, Alex?! :O
aw, c'mon. we are still a long way off from banishment.
You both are getting closer every day though. I'm still wanting to figure out how to get to STL for the roy meets Ghost game, all nighter at Shannon's outfield afterwards. It'll be hard to do when you both get banned by me though...

I think if anyone that travels the longest distance to the 'game of the bet' should have their ticket cost reimbursed by all those that traveled a lesser distance. That way if hicard or Seattle or possibly spirit make it as well as I, then it's not all about me...

It sounds simple, but in order to have good people skills, you have to genuinely like people.

Unfortunately, this is more evident when people who don't like people are employed in jobs that don't necessarily require people skills, but would be better served for all involved if the person was a people person.

I have to disagree with that spirit, at least speaking for myself. I have true disdain for most who walk the face of the earth. I am absolutely happiest when doing things by myself. I go to the movies alone, dine alone, hunt alone, etc. Not all of the time of course, but anyway, I really am the very best at what I do (sell) than anyone else I have ever met. Not a boast, a statement of fact. That is what makes my little lot so successful. You can't sell without people skills. The same with having repeat business. 78% of my sales are repeats and referrals. You can't do that without people skills. I look at sales as my profession. I can look at someone when they come in and immediately know what approach I need to get to "know" them. Doesn't mean I like any of them at all (although some I genuinely do). They have money to spend and I want them to spend it with me. That simple.
I don't buy it, pal o' mine.

I consider myself a semi recluse, and I'm still single and live alone.

And I love it.

Watch what I want, listen to what I want, stay home or go out when I want, eat whatever I feel like cooking, and interact with women of all ages when properly motivated.

I don't believe that you have a true disdain for most people, and I have no doubt that you are very good at your job.

Just because you cherish your privacy, and may hold some degree of disdain for our species, I refuse to believe that you interact with others without genuine feeling.

P.S. I've been told that I could sell hot chocolate in hell.

From employers.

You should believe it, mi amigo, because it's true. Whether or not you do...well...that is your option. Teresa, my GM, has many times asked me "how do you just turn it on and off like that?" Very simple. They have money to spend, and I want it. It IS that simple. In roy's perfect world, they would order through a clown face on a speaker. That way I wouldn't have to have ANY interpersonal relationship for 20 minutes or longer if they buy. Why? Disdain. All of them, certainly not. Most of them by far, absolutely.

There is no limit to what suffering or malice one human will inflict on another. Lie, cheat, steal, rape, rob, beat, dishonor, kill, you name it, we do it to each other. I don't like 'em and don't want em around me. The sign at my gate sums it up perfectly. "If I had wanted you here I would have called you. Leave." I'm a black or white kind of guy. No room or time for shades of gray.

Does a deer, or muskrat, for that matter, go hurt/kill another one just because they can?

While I understand what you're saying, spirit, you swung and missed this one. BTW ain't it great going and doing when you want to go and do?!
what is it that you do, roy?

i was a formers professional musician. touring, radio, all that nonsense. my job was to sell myself so i could eat and play another day. i too can turn it off and on. when i want to be a jerk, i have no problem pulling that card. when i want to be nice, just as easy.
Darlene, I am probably one of the top 3 LEAST trusted people on everyone's list. I have a small car lot. I keep 40 to 75-80 vehicles on hand depending on the time of the year.

I was in this business in KC, Missouri. Moved to the Lou, by way of Indianaplolis. Started an outdoor residential lighting business. After 11 years, was sick of it.Sold it and oved to Nowhere. I started with a couple of cars from my house (before I built and moved into "the compound" here in the valley). Hated the mooks coming to my house. Moved lot to town. It just kind of grew.

No matter what your profession, you have to sell you, just like you said. Some can. Some can't. (what did you play? I haven't got a musical note in my body. Hell, I can't even stand my singing in the shower!)

Don't worry. When you take me to the Blues game I won't wear my "I SELL USED CARS" shirt!

gotcha.

you still have a good feeling about winning this bet, or are you selling a few extra cars for our tickets to the cards? at least i didnt choose a packers home game. HAHAHAHA

Go big or go home, Darlene! If Mo doesn't trade for 2 #2 pitshers, a crafty lefty for the pen, Heath for the pen, and a big stick, then we will sit in good seats. I am a "fund" kind of guy. That's how I socked away the $ for that Remington I ordered. So tomorrow, I am going to officially start the "Take Darlene to the Prom" fund! :O

If it turns out that I win by some Divine Intervention, we are going to have a lot of money to buy drinks at the Blues game! B)

I'm so happy, this could be the start of another "Deke - Homer" rivalry. :D :D :D :D
no way. roy is in no way as annoying as deke...close, but not quite.

id also like to point out that roy doesnt make up things and call them facts.

roy, when he loses, will honor his agreement. deke is a turd and would never honor anything.

roy may smell worse than deke, but thats only the muskrats. deke smells bad because of all the poop that comes out of his mouth constantly.
...uh thanks, I think, Ghostage  but me and the "D" in the same sentence is a bit much for even ME to swallow without crying FOUL.
i was being nice, without your head getting too big, you floating away and getting a more tactical sniping position.
then just plain thanks ;) ...and you're right about a bet is a bet!
yea yea yea...dont get all emotional on me, dionne, and start cry and singing "that's what friends are for"

on second thought, have at it little lady! you sing like an angel!

See the error in your thinking Precious, is that in order for be to be emotinal, I have to care...and when it comes to you, I don't. :ph43r:

My plane ticket would be $225.00. The hotel would be $100.00/ night. I would LOVE to go but don't know how it'll work out right now.

hi, either you quoted the wrong post or your response doesn't make sense. wd appears to still be on topic. I'm confused.

I have pretty good people skills in person, but on the phone or in written form, my skills are woefully lacking. I'm sure a lot of people misread my intention when I write. I have a sarcastic streak a mile wide and love to poke a little humorous jab at all times. Problem is when something is written, people tend to take everything literal.

One of my favorite aspects of this forum is that most posters here realize everyone hear is full of crap and most every thread will get off track if response get to longer than 1 page, so we don't get too many hurt feelings. So, with that being said........

roy, I appreciate you not mentioning me by name when you talked about the 3 people you trust, cause I wouldn't want to get the other posters here jealous of me. I'm sure the regulars realize Aunt Gladys is the third person, whom you also didn't mention. Tell mom I've got a new sharpener if she wants we can get that axe razor sharp in a matter of seconds.
