Hmm... what timezone is that? I don't think I even visited this site before some time in the evening, but I want to make sure.

What's odd is that message would only change if there were 36 registered users logged in....that's not for guests as well (I don't think).

Maybe 36 members happened to showed up yesterday at the same time who don't visit the GOF regularly? It would be a strange coincidence though. We have yet to find a single member who was around at that time.

Actually, I believe InvisionFree includes guests in that statistic as well. Regardless, I doubt I was even close to being around at that time, no matter what timezone that's in.

If that is the case, perhaps it was something to do with a bot. Last year we had a case of many guests hitting the site all at once, which we suspected was a spambot of some sort. This may be a similar case IF guests count towards the total...I didn't think they did though either, Petrie.

I believe that copy-paste, being from Petrie's computer, makes it the -6:00 timezone.

I'm 95% sure that guests count towards the most visitors visited total. I'm on another InvisionFree board that has waaay more "most visited" than actual members. And, besides, when you check "Who's Online", it counts guests in the list, too. I'm almost certain that guests count.

I missed it. Perhaps someone's idea of a joke? Perhaps some sort of error? You could have easily done this if you hacked invisionfree, but who'd bother? The most logical explaination I can come up with is someone registered and clicked the confirmation email. Some viruses open multiple windows at once to crash a computer. Perhaps this happened and invisionfree had some problems too and registered many times at once. It is highly unlikely, but it's the most likely explaination I can come up with. 36 members online at once is so unlikely. And I do not think it counts guests. If you look and there are 3 members online and 2 guests, it never counts the guests. It is highly unlikely that there could be 36 members online at once.

I've been messing around with InvisionFree's software for a while now. Like I said, I'm almost 100% certain that guests are counted in that figure. I know my way around InvisionFree fairly well.

Ah, yes. I just remembered. There's a section at the bottom that says "Board Statistics". It looks something like this:
Board Statistics

w user(s) active in the past 5 minutes
---
x guests, y members, z anonymous members

'w' is always the total of 'x', 'y', and 'z'. It combines the guests, members, and anonymous members to make the number in the "total members active in the past # minutes" figure. So, in short, that 36 counts guests, too. It was most likely a large influx of guests that caused that, combined with a high number of members.
