Finally I managed to finish that review for The Chronicler's fanfiction! :wow Now, to work on catching up with vonboy's…

I don't mind that you're late this time. In fact, I'm actually glad you were late with that review, because now I have another week to work on the next chapter. With the way things are these days, and now with the GoF awards to think about, I really needed some extra time to work on this chapter.

Right now, I'm thinking about what a pain it is having to decide which PMs in my inbox to delete. :bang I hate having to do this, but my inbox is getting really full (at least 96% full). Hey, Pangaea, you call yourself a pack-rat of sorts, right? How do you deal with this kind of problem?

I've been having that problem lately too. I've PM'd a LOT in the 3 months or so I've been here, and I feel a little sentimental about some of them in a way, like I'd want to go back and read them sometime. I"m getting "MESENGER FULL!!!!" every few days, and I have to trudge through my PM's and look for ones I don't really need. I guess my only advice would be to devote some time and thought to it. That's something I need to do.

I've been dealing with that problem for well over a year or two, so I might be able to offer some advice to help you, though you don't have to do so. If you have to delete a few PMs, the first ones to go should be ones that were fully quoted in later messages that you have. That way, you can still keep the content of that message and, as far as I can tell, the only thing you're losing is the exact time and day the original message was sent.

The problem for me is that I've already gotten rid of all of those types of messages long ago, so now I need a new target. I've decided to get rid of some one-liner messages about RPs that I no longer participate in. (That's what I've been doing all afternoon today.)

Really?! :! Well, that makes me feel a lot better about it. Thanks for telling me. :smile Still, write the chapters at your own pace; don't feel like you have to get a new one in within a week of my posting a review. ;)

My method is to copy my PMs—everything in them, including the date and name of sender—to a word document. (Actually, I have several documents; separate ones for each of the members who frequently PM me.) If the message contains links, I click "Quote" so that I can copy the URL; if it contains images, I do the same thing so I can get the URL in the IMG tags, as well as saving the images themselves in the same folder as the word document(s). This way, I can delete my messages without losing their contents; if I need to reference an older message, I just find it in the document.

Hope that helps. :)

EDIT: Oh, I also save my own sent messages, so that I don't forget my own responses, and can more easily follow archived PM conversations when I read them as documents.

Something's not right...

I just edited my last post in the topic of my current fanfic to show the improvements I've made on the most recent chapter, but when I clicked "submit modified post", my post had absolutely nothing! I quickly went back and copied and saved the entire content of that post on a document (thanks for the strategy, Pangaea). That way, if this really is just a glitch or something else minor like that, I can just try again later to edit that post.

For now, I'm still a little panicked by this, and I really hope this problem gets resolved soon.

I'm sort of thinking about how it's already been a whole year since I first joined GOF, when I first became a part of it last year on the 12th of this exact month in particular.

Wow. :D

Okay, I don't know what the heck is going on, but I'm glad I finally managed to find a way to post the revised version of the previous chapter of fanfic. Somehow, when I tried to edit the original post, it completely erased the entire post! :bang I literally had to go through many trial-and-error efforts (I've lost count how many times I ended up editing that post) before I found out that something in the first third of the revised chapter was the source of the problem. I went through many more countless edits and failed to find a specific part of that section that might be causing the problems. :bang I eventually gave up on the original post and just tried to put it all in a new post. It didn't work. :bang Finally, I decided to put everything but the affected chunk back in the original post, then put just the affected chunk in the new post. Finally, FINALLY!!!, I have every part of the revised chapter on the topic of my fanfic. The only problem is that it's now out of chronological order, but I'm sure anyone who reads it will be able to figure out how it should go.

Now if you'll excuse me, I gonna go burn off the stress I accumulated in trying to finally solve this problem.

Wow, that's really strange Chronicler. Something like that has never happened to me before. I notice when I read some post of here, that I see random diamonds with question marks in them. No idea if that would have anything to do with it. Probably just some exotic symbol or character my computer doesn't have or something.

I'm thinking about my Fanfiction right now actually. I might have it on hold (Not posting new episodes) but I'm still writing it! One big problem is I have major writers block on the very next episode that's supposed to be put up. I'm skipping it for now, and I'm writing the next one up. I won't start posting them again for at least a month, so I have time to think of something for that one episode. I think it'll be a good thing if I have several episode already finished when I start posting them again, that way I'm not pressured to finish an episode the day I'm supposed to post it.

Besides, Actual TV show scripts are written, checked over, scrutinized, re-written, burned, reviewed, and finally finished months before the episode airs anyway, so this will just be more realistic. :yes

I'm thinking about who I'm going to nominate for the three categories I have yet to vote in for the 2011 GOF Member Awards. :unsure

Also wondering why, with the award voting almost over, there are still so many members who have not yet voted, despite saying they would in the recent Rock Circle poll. :confused Are they just indecisive (like me)? Are they not aware of the voting? Are they busy? Is two weeks too short a voting period? Will there still be a vote next year if not enough of them vote? Should I bring any of this up in a voting-related thread?

Yeah…I'm kind of panicky today…

About how I haven't written any fanfiction reviews the last few days. Just haven't felt like reading any of them latey :/ I said I'd like to try to read/review every single fanfiction entered in the awards, but there's so many of them now, I don't know if that's a pipe dream or not.

Then follow my strategy: read and review at least one fanfiction for each author. After all, no matter how many fanfics we nominate, we are only allowed one award banner each year.

For example when I eventually get around to voting for one of your fanfics (not sure when at this point), I'm going to focus on just the one that I think you are likely to choose for this year's award (past-o-rama) and simply ignore all the others that you have nominated. Perhaps if some people follow this strategy, maybe I can finally get at least one vote for my fanfic that I nominated.

I need to set aside some time, like a saterday or sunday or something, to get to yours, since it's kind of long.

At least we still have a whole month to review fictions :D (Mumbling told me it'll go till august 1st)

August 1st, I was wondering when the voting for fanfictions would end, especially since it seems the voting for the other awards will end on Saturday night. I'm glad we have more time than I had feared. And thanks to being willing to eventually get to my fanfic. :yes

Right now, I'm thinking about my other fanfic, the one I'm working on and thus chose not to nominate. After working on the next chapter for most of today, I can't help but think of the interesting trade-off that depends on Pangaea's punctuality (I mean no offense to you, I'm just stating what I've seen). If he reviews before Friday, I feel obligated to get the next chapter posted on that week which means I have to work fast and possibly result in a lower quality chapter. If he fails to post his review within a week, that gives me another week to spend writing the next chapter and maybe come up with better ideas. In short, it's either a win-lose or a lose-win choice. Even though the choice is Pangaea's, I put the blame of the existence of this trade-off on my weird habits. :wacko
