Hi, as most of you know I am making molds for land before time tin figures and about a year ago I made five based on land before time shoe charms of Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike. In addition to those five shoe charms there are two more, namely of Chomper and of Ruby, which I would love to use in order to create more land before time tin figures. Now especially the one of Ruby proves tricky to come by and the only offer I ever saw for a Ruby shoe charm to be shipped to Germany demanded the unreasonably high shipping costs of $48 (for a figure smaller than an inch and weighing about 2 grams). Therefore I have an offer for anyone who is interested. If anyone can get me such a land before time shoe charm of Ruby that I can turn into a land before time tin mold I will send him or her a hand-painted land before time tin figure in return. |

Is it just a supplier problem? If so, I could probably buy it over here in Canada and ship it over via airmail. Just point me to where you found it and I can look into it. |

It is probably a little more complicate. The ruby figure used to be offered (at the horrendous shipping costs to Europe) at the page the link of which I gave on the original post. I didn't find the Ruby figure anywhere else at ebay or via google. The manufacturer of the shoe charms is called Jibbitz. |

As a citizen of Canada, I can buy this and ship it across to your location in Europe without too many issues. If I go through with this though, you'd owe me a pretty big favour. Caustizer. |

Is it possible for Canadians to purchase these on the page? When I checked it out they only had the option to enter US states but no Canadian Provinces on the form. If it is possible for Canadians then there may be a good chance to get this shoe charm. |

If he can't buy it, I most certainly will. I'll ship it to ya when I get it. (I'd just need your address is all. ;)) Trust me, I'll make sure you get it.

I've sent them an inquiry in regards to entering a province instead of a state. Worst comes to worst I'll just have it shipped to Buffalo (2hrs away) and pick it up down there. |

But it would be very unfair indeed if therefore the offer I made was canceled. Especially as it was my mistake not to post Adam's offer here. Perhaps Adam hasn't purchased the Ruby shoe charm yet. Either way, please let me know as soon as the shoe charm arrives John. I will then give you my address and once I finish making the mold for Ruby I will send you a tin figure of her (or if you would rather have one of Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, or Spike I could send you that too). |

Yesterday the shoe charm pokeplayer sent me me arrived and his reward is on the way to him too now. Thank you John After Christmas I will probably have the last remaining shoe charm (the one of Chomper) and once I have the time and leisure I will make tin molds of them. Ruby, I'm afraid, will be the most difficult one to make a mold of. She provides a number of challenges which the others do not. |

Alas this planned mold of Ruby and Chomper has still not been made. John sent me the Ruby shoe charm back then and I'm really grateful for this. But unfortunately there was a drop of glue on this Ruby which doesn't infringe the looks of this figure in its original function as a shoe charm, but does make it impossible to make a good tin mold from it This is an image of the figure with the glue on her tail: ![]() Unfortunately I have been unable to remove that glue. Since it is the kind that would allow for this figure to stand the special force impossed upon it in its function as a shoe charm it seems to be a kind that so tightly connects with the rubber the figure is made of that it seems to be impossible to separate the two. In a mold that glue would create a bumb destroying some detail of the figure and posing a serious flaw in all tin figures made from that mold. So I was quite happy when recently I found on ebay a German seller offering land before time shoe charms including Ruby. I bought two Rubies and well, this is what I got: ![]() Smaller, much less detailed, a lot less clear shapped as the original Jibbitz shoe charm this one is totally of limits to be used for the purpose of mold making. Ruby seems to be less available than the shoe charms of the five original characters. She is not currently offered at ebay either. I do hope to ultimately find a figure which (along with Chomper) I can turn into a mold. |

Do you know what type of glue it is? Maybe I can recommend you a solvent that will melt that glue. You will need a 1 or 2 mm thick glass capillary for a "precision strike" though. You can try buying capillaries at a local pharmacy or laboratory equipment store (the place people like me buy glasses, gloves and lab coats). And by the way, have you read my poem? |
