Does anybody on this site know who voiced Spike in 1? We know Grandpa was voiced by bill erwin and all he did was laugh so why wasn't whoever played spike credited...?
Anyways much appreciated if you could tell me.

If it wasn't obvious, he was voiced anonymously.

I thought Frank Welker did, who also voiced the Sharptooth. Made him the only voice actor to voice something in every movie/TV episode.

Looks around, nervously
I looked through the credits and they didn't mention anything, but I'm thinking that it might have been Will Ryan, who voiced Petrie. He's a versatile voice actor, and was already on the payroll, so they may have had him do it.

I also looked and it only listed Rob Paulsen and Jeff Bennett. Maybe he never had a voice actress since they thought he didn't seem fit.

That is true and plus there is no voice actor listed. So maybe no one did voice him.

Did he even make a noise in the movie? Or just some small grumbles? If he did, that's not really considered "voice acting" which is why they never accredited the actor.

True I think he made some noises witch is kinda like voice acting. Later on Robert Paulsen voiced him. And that is kinda considering voice acting. Look at Frank Welker he voiced a lot of animals in his life. Like the mouse in the land of the mists he just squeaked and that is considered voice acting.

The only noices Spike uttered in the Original are his laughter in the tar pit scene and perhabs his yawning or his eating sounds... dunno if they have to be voiced by a human being or if they are computer-made.

I think back than it was probably computer made. I also think they used a computer back in 1988 to voice spike. Or some sound effects maybe have been used for spike back than.

He does actually say "Food..." in the finnish version at least.

^really? Which scene?

I think Spike's laughter at least sounds quite human-made.

I'd guess one of the animators did it. Pixar later did the same thing with Spanish-Buzz.

When they're climbing up the hill before splitting up.
