I'm doing an analysis of movie 5's score. Here goes: 0:00-2:37: A new, amazing opening theme, 2:38-3:03: A snippet of "The valley", one of the most beautiful pieces in the sequels, heard in the credits for movie 4. 3:03-3:54: A cute, playful tune as the gang decides who should get the treestar. 3:55: silence 3:56-4:06: Ceerful tune resumes, then suddenly stops as Spike hits the tree. 4:07: Silence 4:08: Crashing noise 4:09: Silence 4:10-4:19: Awkward music as Petrie falls 4:19-4:21: Silence 4:22-4:57: Cheerful, playful tune as the gang chase the treestar, it mellows nicely and then becomes playful again, then mellows again 4:57-5:09: Somewhat regretful tune ending on a bitter note as Mr. Clubtail gets the treestar. 5:10-5:16: Silence 5:17-5:30: More melencholy music that suddenly becomes intense as Grampa enters the scene. 5:31-5:44: Silence 5:44-5:53: More dull melencholy music 5:54: Silence 5:55-6:52: Edited version of the beautiful second song that played during movie 3's credits. 6:52-8:41: A brisk, intense new tune in which the leaf goblers make their attack. 8:41-10:29: A very dark piece as everyone looks and later disscusses the damage the leaf gobblers did. Starts out almost like a funeral dirge. 10:29-11:23: A nice, optimistic pioneer-style piece that's played as the gang dicusses how they don't want to go live with their own kind and the resulting decision that everyone will leave together. 11:23-13:27: A dark, beautiful new piece entitled "The desert" as we know from the Michael Tavera sountrack clips, played as the herds make the long treck acorss the desert. 13:27-13:38: Silence 13:38-13:42: Loud, scary music as Cera uncovers a bug 13:42-13:44: Silence 13:44-14:58: More dramatic, dark subtle score (note: it is sometimes hard to hear over characters talking) 14:59-15:09: Repeat of part of 8:41-10:28 15:10-15:12: Silence (?) 15:12-15:57: Re-use snippet of "Whispering Winds" from movie 1 15:58-16:19: More slow, melancholy music, perhaps a snippet of 8:41-10:29? 16:20: Silence 16:21-17:01: Re-use of music when Cera charged at Sharptooth in movie 1 17:02-17:50 Walking pace music as the gang marches through the desert; with the harpsichord it sounds a bit like something you'd hear at a dinner party 17:50-17:52: Silence 17:53-18:13: Dinner party music resumes 18:14-18:15: Silence 18:16-18:27: Another melancholy snippet 18:27-31: Silence 18:31-18:47: Exited, fast music 18:47-19:37: Playful, exited variation of "The valley", ending on a peaceful, sparkling note as the gang reaches the big water. 19:38-19:42: Silence 19:42-19:56: Music from the treestar chase used 19:57-20:24: music turns sour and awkward as the gang realizes the water is salty; ends on dramatic note 20:25-20:48: Silence 20:48-21:05: Re-use of "Whispering winds" 21:05-21:31: Rather akward sounding score 21:32-21:39: Nice, sparkling score as they see the island 21:40-21:56: The cute, playful tune from 3:03-3:54... 21:57-22:03: Which flows nicely in to what I believe is a sped up snippet of "The Desert". 22:04-22:17: What I'd call a "discovery tune" as they see the path to the island. |

22:18-22:37: Silence 22:37-24:00: Re-use of the bit of "Discovery of the Great Valley" during the Sharptooth fight scene. 24:00-24:08: Nice, sparkling, calm after the storm music. ![]() 24:08-24:19: Chasing the treestar music AGAIN. 24:19-25:12: More subtle (and towards the end brisk) music as the gang observes the island's vegetation. 25:12-25:25: Regretful tune that played when Mr. Clubtail got the treestar earlier on. 25:25-26:17: Starts out dramatic, but turns into another dark, melancholy theme that just doesn't stand out. 26:17-26:19: Silence 26:19-26:31: More dark music 26:31-26:38: Silence 26:38-27:13: Melencholy, at one point playful but mainly bland music resumes. 27:13-27:15: Silence 27:15-29:26: "Big Water" 29:26-29-45: Slight variation of "The Valley" 29:45-30:01: Slight variation of 17:01-17:50, I think. 30:01-30:13: Intense music that comes to a weak end 30:14: Silence, maybe 30:15-30:25: A dull melancholy snippet 30:25-30:32: Triumphant music! 30:33: Silence 30:34-30:46: Snippet of the playful, upbeat version of "The valley" from 18:47-19:37 30:47-33:42: A new, intense, action packed piece in which they encounter the swimming sharptooth. 33:43-49: Subtle music that I can say for sure has not been played yet. 33:50-34:01 Mr. Clubtail getting the treestar music (maybe the ending is different) 34:02-34:03: Silence 34:04-34:13: Music that played during mountains that burn scene in movie 1 34:13-34:25: Silence 34:25-38:17: "Always there" (The music for this song starts way before the actual singing does) 38:18: Silence 38:19-38:40: Starts out rather dark and melancholy, becomes charming. 38:40-38:44: Silence 38:45-39:11: Music from mountains that burn scene in movie 1 again 39:12-13: Silence 39:14-40:18: Fast paced chase music 40:18-40:22: Silence? (Hard to tell over characters) 40:22-41:17: Medley of melencholy, playful etc. 41:17-41:58: Darkish tune 41:58-42:00: Silence 42:00-42:14: Intense-playful tune 42:14-42:25: Silence 42:25-42:38: Mr. Clubtail getting the treestar music 42:38-42:44: Silence 42:44-42:50: So subtle it's hard to decipher 42:50-42:58: I think a re-use of 41:17-41:58 42:58-44:27: When Chomper's parents appear this new song plays. Both sort of dark and humorous sounding 44:27-44:29: Silence 44:29-44:39: Subtle melencholy music |
