Now for my talks with Lucas, which were completely non-strategic but the most enjoyable of anyone else I talked to once the merge hit.

Hey Lucas, congrats on making the merge! Are you happy to be able to catch up with your brother?

...is Ness your brother?

That is a really good question. I'm not even sure, all I know is that people just call me a clone character when in reality I am better than Ness in most ways! FOR EXAMPLE, when I use my PK thunder I can hit many different opponents while he can only hit one. ^_^

Oh I know! I've had SSBB for like a year and for some reason had barely got round to playing it, then when I started this game it motivated me to go back to it. And Lucas is pretty awesome. Totally Lucas >>> Ness.

Without a doubt. I've played as Ness a few times and I just don't like the way he handles. He is much heavier than Lucas and I just think Lucas is so much more adorbz. ^_^

I just like how everything related to you and Ness's game in SSB makes absolutely no sense to anyone outside of Japan. Lucas riding in on some sort of flesh-coloured towel with legs <3 That weird pink monster thing in New Pork City <3 Ness randomly producing a baseball bat out of his anus occasionally <3

 I KNOW RIGHT? The flesh towel with legs still makes zero sense to me. But I think my favorite might be the pet snake that Lucas keeps in his pocket? WTF is that? Also, I pull a twig from my ass, it ain't no baseball bat but it is just as weird.

I really really wish that Motherbound had been released in the US, it sounds like an amazing game.

Wow, Lucas has a pet snake in his pocket? I'm going to have to be on the lookout for that next time I play, see there's so much weirdness I haven't even discovered it all yet.

Maybe it wasn't released in the US because they feared the effects of playing it while on an acid trip?

Yeah that is his snake. He uses it his grab and a way to recover and grab a ledge, it is just like Samus' beam but a lotttt slower. The only complaint I have about Lucas is that his grabs are soo slowww. Like if I miss with the grab I am vulnerable for about 2 seconds when someone can hit me. :(

Yeah I went and looked at some of the Motherbound Stuff on wikipedia and it seems weird as helll. Like wtf @ that boss in Brawl with Porky turning into a giant robot?

Ohhh, that's a snake! I thought it was like, a rubber band or some weird intergalactic pink goo. But a snake, now THAT makes sense.

I'm still learning so I'm not so great at grabs, or knowing what I'm doing in general. I tend to just mash the buttons with my palm and hope for the best.

 Tis the strategy of everyone who plays street fighting-esque games. I remember when I used to go to the arcade and play like Marvel vs Capcom (Marvel ftw tyvm) and I used to just slam my hand on the buttons and see if my attacks did anything. Usually I could get past the first few rounds but then the AI started using actual strategy and I was dead.

Oh yeah they always lull you into a false sense of security in those early rounds in fighting games and then it all goes horribly wrong. When I was really little I used to go play Street Fighter at the department stores where they'd have it on the displays (because I'm thrifty like that :P) and everything would seem fine until you get to like, Sagat and then the screen was just a crazy blur of me being pwnt.

!!! YES!! I would win with like Cable or something and then get to the third stage and just get OWNED. It used to happen when I played Mortal Kombat too, I'd own the first rounds and then it would just be a slaughter of FINISH HIM FINISH HIM FINISH HIM from the AI :(

Oh and remember how the characters in SF used to vomit everywhere when they were hit really hard? It's like, it's not embarrassing enough to be beaten to a pulp. I have to fall into a puddle of my own puke at the end of it all.

Oh god, those SF characters were so ridiculous. I wonder how many I can remember. Obviously I remember Ryu and then the Blonde Ryu. There was that bitch that had like the Princess Lea hair and then the main boss person who wore like purple and had a suit. he was pretty badass.

I seriously don't get why everyone jizzes themselves over Ryu/blonde Ryu. I mean why would I want to play as these generic himbos when I can be amazing crotch-flasher Chun Li, or some weird monster who electrocutes people and chews their faces off, or a peaceful yogi who just happens to occasionally set people on fire?

Yessss Alpha male seething hatred. CHUN LI! THat was her name, she was wonderful. I only remembered Ryu/Blonde Ryu since he was the ~star~ of the game, which we all know is a lie since Chun Li and the asshole that was like a little goblin with hair that was Super Sayin was obviously the ~stars~ of the game.

Blanka! That was it. Yeah they were the true stars, for sure. But I guess every game needs a 'main' character that is totally outshined by the supporting characters.

Main characters are so overrated in general. Supporting characters are the best part of any book/tv show/movie/thing with characters, well that is my opinion at least.

I can't really think of any main character that is my favorite from a TV show or movie.

Yeah, I know, I was just thinking the same thing. I guess I would say Homer but Bart was the real main character when that started. Plus the Simpsons are dead. to. me. after so many seasons of rubbish.

Oh and Donnie was my favourite character in Donnie Darko. :P But that's like a one in a million case.

I really need to see Donnie Darko, my friends have been telling me about it for years but I have just not gotten around to it. :(

Well yeah, you should, it's not to some people's tastes but it's one of my favorite movies ever. But avoid the Director's Cut, because I kind of hated it. It's one of those things where it feels the need to spell everything out that was left ambiguous in the original and that people with half a brain would realise anyway.

I like psychological thrillers that are kinda weird, so I think I will enjoy it. My friend, who is really picky about movies, says it is in his top 5 so I guess I will have to watch it. Nothing can touch my top 3 of Mean Girls, Pan's Labyrinth and The Lion King though.

Those are all great films. I was seriously obsessed with the Lion King when I was little, I watched it so many times. But the Emperor's New Groove has overtaken it as my favorite Disney film. Yzma is the most badass Disney villain ever. See again, supporting character pwnage.

I'd say my top three are Kill Bill, Fight Club and Some Like it Hot, but I change my mind all the time.

Ursula is my favorite villain since she sings Poor Unfortunate Souls and is such an evil wench in general. The last time I saw TENG was a few years ago but I own it on DVD and I planned to rewatch it this summer since the ranking thread on sucks has it still in the top 3, it is my favorite thread in CTS <3.

I LOVE QUENTIN TARANTINO. Pulp Fiction is in my top 10 and I really, really, really wanna see the Kill Bills since they seem so fucking epic. I had someone outline the basic idea of the plot about her killing people in a different style and it sounds fucking amazingggg. It might be my favorite move that I haven't seen.

And I used to watch Some Like It Hot with my Dad A LOT when I was younger. He had it recorded on VHS and then got the DVD and I got all excited since the DVD cover was in color so I thought they went back and made the movie in color too.

Ursula's pretty badass too, I love her representin' for the plus-size gurls all around the world. And there's a Disney ranking thread at Sucks?! Okay I'mma check that out immediately, I don't know how I miss these things sometimes.

I love Quentin Tarantino too, and it makes me sad when some people are so critical of his stuff. Like, the extremely mixed reviews for Death Proof and I thought that film was just incredible. No-one makes movies with as much of a sense of fun as him. That why I love Kill Bill so much, it's about the most entertaining film I've ever seen.

I grew up watching Some Like it Hot too, and I'm just constantly surprised by how well it holds up compared to new movies. I read something where they did actually film it in color but the make-up they were using for trannyfierce Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis made them look green so they ended up making it all black and white instead.

Hahaha, my favorite part of that movie has to be when he is in the tub while wearing his sailor outfit. That part always made me laugh my ass off when I was little and it still does. I feel like seeing it in color would kinda ruin it since it is an old movie and that is just how they are.

I really want to see more Tarantino stuff since he is just amazing in everything. The first time I saw him was when he guest starred on Alias and I was in

I always liked the bit on the train where Daphne ends up having a party with like thirty girls crammed into his bunk bed.

And everything Tarantino has directed is worth seeing. Maybe not so much everything he's acted in, because his giganto chin tends to distract me. Mesmerising. What did he do on Alias, I only ever saw little bits of that show.

He like infiltrated their secret base and took people hostage and was hilarious and OTT and overall just amazing. My friends all liked Inglorious Bastards but when that came out I was obsessed with seeing Jennifer's Body (which I never actually saw  ) I have so many movies that I have on a "culturing" list to see this summer and I want to reread all of Harry Potter. :D

More to come... ^_^

I just saw Jennifer's Body a couple of weeks ago. That was another one that got really bad reviews but I had fun watching it. Megan Fox was v. believable as a mindless, soulless demonic slut.

And a shocking confession: I have never read a Harry Potter book, or seen a Harry Potter film.

:o

How tragic. It is easily my favorite book series, but I am a sucker for things that I grew up with, call it loyalty  I adore the series so much. A friend is rereading it too and she texted me telling me how she couldn't finish the 7th one because she was crying. x a million.

I can't think of any big series of books I've been into, really. I tried reading LOTR but got through Fellowship of the Ring and the thought of going through the other two was just painful. Like seriously, stop describing the beautiful green rolling plains already. I tend to stick to one-offs, mostly by Japanese authors. For some reason I'm kind of hooked on Japanese crime thrillers lately.

That is really obscure,, but I really think that is awesome. Most American authors are all about the imagery and forced symbolism that it makes me want to gag.

I'm really into graphic novels at the moment, after I saw Kick-Ass I bought and read all of that and then I read all of Wanted, the author's other series and then I read all of Buffy, now I am going to start working my way through Watchmen.

I used to love graphic novels but I haven't read many lately. Except this hilarious comic called Bear from England, it was a pretty short series but it was amazing. I ended up naming my cat after the cat in the comic, who is psychopathic and runs around with a samurai sword and drags dead bodies home. I've been meaning to check out Buffy though because it's about my favorite TV show ever and I wanted to check out the whole 'unofficial season eight' thing.

YAY A BUFFY FAN!!!!!! :D x a million. Loooove Buffy.

The season 8 comics are excellent, I enjoy the storylines and think it moves well. I am waiting to get the last two at the same time so I don't have to wait since I expect a huge cliffhanger but it is quite excellent. I prefer it to season 7 of the show. It is creative and just awesome, can't rave enough.

I will check that comic out. :)

Ugh, yeah, season seven. It had some standout episodes and really picked up towards the end but that middle portion where all the focus was on the awful potential slayers was just painful. I actually cheered when Caleb arrived and gutted the one with the awful English accent which I don't think was the intended reaction. :P

I basically worship all things Joss Whedon. I've been catching up on Dollhouse lately, and while I think it's the weakest of his shows it's a shame to know it's been cancelled when it really started to pick up steam as it went along.

I still have seen none of season 2 of Dollhouse. I feel so bad since part of the reason it was cancelled was due to me not watching and I watched season one religiously. I really just have no intention to watch it, I'm sure I will at some point since I did enjoy the first season (the episode with Felicia Day is one of the best TV episodes I've ever seen) but I have more pertinent things to do like rewatch all of That 70s Show on youtube. :D

It took me ages to get round to Dollhouse. I couldn't watch it when it was on and instead had copies of it on my hard drive for over a year. I had watched a few of the first episodes and it just didn't have that typical Whedon thing where the characters really grab your attention straight away. But it got way better fast, so I'm back to watching it now that I'm at a lull with all the other shows I watch. I ran out of Dexter, I ran out of Breaking Bad, not to mention all the reality stuff I watch ending. Although now that True Blood is back I have the excruciating week-long wait for new episodes, I love it so much.

And I liked That 70s Show for a while, but think there was a noticeable dip in quality as soon as Donna died her hair blonde. Her red hair carried that show.

 I was thinking about blonde Donna earlier. I mean I guess you could attribute the quality in the show decreasing when she died her hair blonde, I doubt it was the fact that two of the main leads left to do bigger and brighter things ( @ Topher Grace failing -- THAT IS WHY YOU NEVER LEAVE A TV SHOW BEFORE IT IS OVER  ). I am mainly rewatching it because I haven't seen it all and I adore Mila Kunis and think Jackie is easily the best character on any sitcom ever.

But for Dollhouse, I wanted to watch season 2 since Alexis Denisof is on it and he is just awesome. But I read one review that said it was like an odd mix of all the Whedonshows, a twisted Whedonverse with people like Alan Tuyk (sp?) and Wesely, so  @ that.

No, there's no way it was two stars of the show leaving that made it suck. It was totally Donna's blonde hair.  Topher Grace, poor bitch. He couldn't even marry an aging starlet to keep tabloid interest in him high, I mean really that's just lazy.

Dollhouse is a constant stream of Whedonverse actors but mostly they've been totally different on Dollhouse than they were on his other shows, and it's nice seeing them again when most don't get a lot of parts in other stuff. I've only seen a couple of the Alexis Denisof episodes so far but his American accent is so distracting after getting accustomed to Wesley. I know he is American and that's probably closer to his natural voice but I just keep thinking 'WESLEY TALK NORMALLY!  ' whenever he opens his mouth.

Hahahaha, I keep forgetting that he is American since I knew him through over 120 episodes as a British man. I don't think I'd have an issue with the accent since I have seen him on How I Met Your Mother (I didn't recognize him at first) and he has an American accent there and is ridiculously hilarious.

Sorry about dying last night my net died and Top Chef was on so I didn't feel like calling out support service. Sorry. :(

Don't worry about it, I was kind of dying from lack of sleep near the end there so it was about the right time for me to get a hint to go to bed. :P

Oh and since last night, I watched another Dollhouse and ANOTHER Whedon alum just showed up, Summer Glau. He's certainly a loyal guy to his actors.

It always kind of creeps me out knowing that Alexis Denisof and Alyson Hannigan are a couple in real life. I mean... Wesley and Willow should not be having sex. It's just wrong.

 OMG I love them both so much, she is one of the few celebrities that I follow on twitter, but now that I think about it the only celebrities that I follow on twitter are Whedon alums. Tom Lenk, Amber Benson... lol... :(

But oh my fucking god, Summer Glau is the best bad ass in any show ever. I get CHILLS, FUCKING CHILLS during that one scene from her in Serenity, I will keep it ambiguous if you haven't seen it but if you have, you know what I am talking about.

Aww damn, sorry I was out so long tonight, I wanted to get another solid session of pop culture rambling in. :P I've somehow managed to almost completely avoid Twitter, I don't know why but it's never come on to my radar at all. Except the thing they do for True Blood where the characters from the show post tweets.

Summer Glau was just incredible in Firefly/Serenity... do you mean the bit where she flips out over fruity oaty bars? She had so many moments of badassery that I'm not sure which was even the best. And I love that bit in Firefly where she's given a gun and efficiently kills all the goons attacking them and is just like '^_^' to a horrified Kaylee. Looks like she'll be a badass again in Dollhouse, but this time as more of a villain.

OMG A VILLAIN?

I was talking about the part in the movie when Simon is hurt and he left his medical pack so she dives through the door and grabs it and then closes the door and then takes on all of the Reavers at once. Oh my god and then shot of her as the door opens and she is standing there with the blade just on top of all the dead Reavers. One of the most bad ass scenes I have ever seen.

And no problem about disappearing, it was only like me and Wolf online and we exchanged like 3 PMs.

Yeah, that was the other bit I was thinking of but I think I'm just too big a fan of the fruity oaty bars commercial for the octopus flying out of the cartoon girl's top. That bit near the end was awesome but I like how Joss Whedon said himself that he basically turned River into Buffy at the end of the film.

Haha, I never saw that I love it though. River is probably my favorite Whedon character ever. I have this thing for girls that could kick my ass. Idk what that says about my character,.

But I am heading out to the beach with some friends, I shall talk to you later. :)

So, that's my fairly extensive talk with Lucas. but of course you'll notice, we never talked a word of strategy. He did however manage to keep me engaged in a surprisingly enjoyable conversation for a very long amount of time, which in itself is a strategy. I'm already thinking that Lucas is the yellow I would want to keep around for the longest amount of time, and he managed to make me temporarily forget my anger at the yellows for voting out Jiggly. So that basically all tells me, he's a strong social threat.

But quite possibly a strong social threat who I would be willing to work with given the right circumstances. I will always have many wubs for a fellow Whedonite.
