Im looking at doing a few things to my engine and just wondered what people think. I don't know a lot about modern engines!

Mods list -

1. EGR delete valve - are these worth it. They certainly look like they do a good job! Ive read a few reviews where people are having issues with an engine light issue. However I've read a lot about how the valve is only effieciently reducing CO2 for the first 35,000 miles and mines on 65,000. The amount of build up I've seen in these makes me think i should be getting a delete valve asap.

2. Breather pipe - the same company who sell the delete valve, do a breather pipe from the crankcase. Whats the idea with this? I don't know if i quite understand the benefits here. Any experience with these?

3. Diesel Tunit / Remap - from what i have read the fuel efficiency and the power gains are kind of similar ish and the costs are about the same (£420 - £450 for the remap (REVO) and £490 for the tunit). Obviously with the Tunit box i can always resell this if i sell the car. Does anyone have one of these boxes on their car?
A query i have with the tunit is that if i do the EGR delete and in future a miltek exhaust system will the Tunit still work the same?
I know obviously with a map i would have to get it mapped again with the new exhaust.

Thanks in advance if anyone knows anything about this stuff!

It's generally best to do the map last personally, I don't know much about the delete but the breather pipe I can assume is an induction kit so that'll help air flow to the engine, will make it slightly thirstier but will give it a nicer noise and also better air to the engine so cooling it down easier I think

The exhaust on a diesel I wouldn't of thought would give massive gains but I'm not sure, you can also run a Decat on diesel as they don't require one
Also for remap check out apr and custom code, I think CC is one of the cheapest and I've heard good things from them :)

Heres the breather pipe - Breather
And the EGR valves are from the same site.

I think the power gains with a miltek are quite good! Not sure of the exact figure though. I can imagine with the exhaust (depends if a get the downpipe as well, or just cat back), EGR valve delete air filter and Tunit unit i'll be looking at nearly 200bhp with 300ft lb of torque with better fuel consumption and a healthier engine! The only issues come down to cost! :thumbdown

I thought all cars without cats fail an MOT? Yeah i guess ill leave the map then as it will prob be a while before all these plans get done! Like usual!

Diesels don't need a cat as their emissions are different to that of a petrol, only thing a cat does to the derv engines is noise, will
Have more of a grunt to the exhaust note catless but won't affect emissions etc :) and 200 is some good figures for diesel too, should have some crazy pull on it :P
