thats a possibility but if i don't need parts why pay for them. plus i'm being told that the gti outer cv's may not fit my driveshafts, in which case do i need complete different drivshafts, will they be the same length, will the inner fit into my 020 rod change box as gti's are 02a type? |

Lol, sounds like an expensive way of doing it. Shame you have no other options. |

The expensive option is often the most complicated and therefore, clearly best. |

Aren't you also considering an engine swap? The vr would be easiest solution. Oh for the love of wheels. |

well i finally got it sussed thanks to rubjonny on clubgti. this is the answer/options: you have 2 choices here, 1. press 5 stud hubs into 4 stud bearing carriers, fit 5 stud outer cvs then either redrill 4 stud discs to 5 stud or fit 280mm brakes and buy early Passat VR6 discs, which are VW only: 357 615 301 A - 280 brake disc, 5x100 - 38.83+VAT 2. change the wishbones, roll bar, and complete bearing carrier assemblies for MK3 5 stud ones. or if you want to keep your old roll bar use later passat 5 stud wishbones. so basically i need mk3 gti/vr hub carriers, wishbones, outer cv's and rollbar. |
