ok when my other half is back from Afghan, me and him are lookin at doin a trip to germany in his mota. we wanna go to the VW museum in Wolfsburg, the Audi and Horch museums in Zwickau, and naturally the Nurburgring, all these places are in Germany, but from Southampton it will be a 1850 miles round trip, to do all of them. spread over a week me thinks :huh: so anyone else fancy a really good road trip round germany, and naturally a good holiday for a week or so. will be taking the euro tunnel on the sunday of edition so really the holiday will start the friday of edition.... here is a map http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&sadd....775391&z=6 here is a rough outline of wot the week is going to hold for us..... Sunday: - leave edition late morning (about 11am) - get the 3pm train to Calais (1/2 hour train ride) - Calais to Essen 4hr maximum trip - arrive in Essen 8pmish and get food and setup camp - stay 1 night Monday: - Leave 8am for Wolfsburg (3.5hrs max) - arrive about 11/12pm and visit wolfsburg museum - setup camp and stay 1 night Tuesday: - 9/10am departure for Berlin - arrive in Berlin lunch time and have a wonder and a munch - leave Berlin 3/4pm - arrive Zwickau 6/7pm - setup camp for 1 night Wednesday: - 8/9am start for the Audi museum and spend 3-4 hrsish there. - arrive in Sinsheim for 7pmsih - setup camp for 1 night Thursday: - Both museums - 3hr trip to NURBURGRING - chillllllllllaaaaaxxxx man - stay for 3 nights Sunday: - Leave no later than 12pm - 4hrsish to Calais from Nurburgring - get 6pm train back to Folkstone - arrive home no later than 10pm END OF TRIP! Its open to anyone that fancies it, theres already a fair few cars from the Southerndubbers website going but more the merrier! Cheers Kat :D |

my dad and some of his mates did this last weekend but also did merc and porsche museums. they did fly out to germany though and pac laps in the ring taxi. |
