Mk2 8v wont start

Been having running issues with the mk2 recently,
would not idle at all, running really lumpy and cut out if revs dropped below 2k.
Found a lovely cream inside the oil filler,
so changed the head gasket, made sure was timed up correctly before and after.
But now wont start, everything is back together correctly and there is fuel and spark and the engine turns over fine.
take the plugs out and turn over and it fires fuel out of the plug bores in sequence beautifully.
Any ideas guys, tearing my hair out, checked the dizzy timing and seems spot on too so bit lost now...

Mi culo sobre el fuego.
If you have fuel and spark it should run. Do you have spark at all 4 plugs? Does it cough, splutter or remotely sound like it's trying to catch?
Check the timing again and change your spark plugs- they must be wet f**ked by now.
