Ok need some advice about the best Dizzy cap to use on the mk1, was running the standard kr cap when I got her and using all 4 mc outlets, just want it a bit neater really (it was and still is tight), wonderd what any other mk1 valvers are running, heard a rumour that an mk3 ABF cap with side exit leads will fit with slight mods or is it a myth and guess i'd need the rotor arm too ?, any advice gratefully received, cheers people :thumbup |

Just had a quick read up on this , it seems it will go straight on but the outlets face directly at the servo !?? So chopping is required to the cap locating lugs in order to move it 90 degs then it looks like fixing it is pretty simple to just rotate the existing clips 90 degrees on the dizzy and clip the abf cap on over its existing "screw lugs " which could look gash I suppose? |

Yeah I'd read something like that but not so detailed, probably go this route but carefully modify the cap so it looks factory fit if I can or failing that fab up a clamping device in 2 halves that'll slip over the dizzy body, drill it and use the original screw mount on the cap, more Fiddling  , thanks for your help mate cheers :thumbup |

I'm using the abf cap. If you trim the bolt lugs through the centre on a radius it'll look pretty and leave something for the clips to grab onto. The internal mounting lug needs grinding out of the cap so you can rotate it 180 degrees and have the pins out the front. The black plastic cover genuine caps come with can also be creatively trimmed to cover the grinding work too. I've also heard 205 gti caps fit, but have no experience with them. |

Pop into GSF in Poole, see Sau on the counter. Show him what you need and he should be able to match it. If I remember correctly the last one I matched was a saab 900 turbo cap. |

Sorted, cheers fellas, got one from GSF popped straight on with no mods whatsoever ? was confused to start with but realised that the previous owner had spun the dizzy 180deg so the leads stick out the front and the inner tab lines up and locates, result, will notch out the cap mounts slightly tho to make the clips less taught. :thumbup |

Doesn't sound like you had a standard kr cap before then- they exit out straight towards the wing. |

yeah that's what was fitted, they did exit straight out towards the wing / mc and were tight against the mc, but kinda strange because at some point the dizzy's been rotated so must have had an abf cap at some point otherwise why spin it ?, expect the previous owner replaced the cap and asked for a KR one  , |
