People seem to think the 'is this all for nothing' standpoint is a pessimistic one... but well, I disagree. I have never wondered if what I'm doing is 'all for nothing' solely because of being depressed, lonely, etc, I just want to know if I'm making a good investment with my time, money and self in general. If this turns out to be some freaky prerequisite to a later life (a prologue, if you will), I'll look back on it and feel like I was in a big game of chess. I'd probably wonder 'if I was just going to die and pop up in a completely unrelated space anyway, why did I invest so much of myself'?

This 'grow up, get an education, get a job' thing is purely human conjecture. We created technology, buildings, the internet, etc, and now we're just struggling to maintain them via specified jobs. Now, I'm not saying I won't work. XD People who don't do so are strange. What I'm saying is... part of what makes life feel so 'fake' to me is that human beings pieced it together themselves. It's a completely person-driven system.
Grow up, go to school, get a wife/husband, get a steady job, have kids, grow old, end.

Making children and finding a mate are completely primal, of course. That's probably why a lot of people plead 'you just need to get laid, man' or 'all you need is looooove' when somebody is depressed. Love, sex and children = primal.

I do wonder sometimes... what will it be like to be reincarnated as a different human? If that actually happens...

I wouldn't remember my time as someone else but I wonder if my soul would be aware that I was someone else in a different life. So... in a very weird way I kinda have something to look forward to when I die.

Maybe the soul has some memories of previous lives and that's why it feels like you don't belong here.....That's something I think about sometimes....that I should really be born as someone else.....or maybe that's just wishful thinking because I don't like my life atm :D

Interesting how this has turned into a reincarnation topic..I had an experience with regression. It changed my life somewhat because there is no way in hell I could have known about the things I saw in my mind and spoke of and then later looked it up on wiki and found everything I said to be true..every bit of it. So uncanny that even now, one year later, it still amazes me. This to me was pure validation of past lives and reincarnation. :)

My aunt is bit of a hippie and she used to have a friend who was really into astrology and mystical stuff like that. I was born with a hole in my heart and I had to have heart surgery to get it fixed. So my aunt's friend said that in a past life I was stabbed in the heart and thats how I died. I'm kinda obsessed with dragons; they are my favorite creature and I have statues of them around my room. So maybe its just wishful thinking but I believe in a past life I was a dragon. I know it might sound crazy but I have arguments as to their existence.

I think that Astrology is all hocum, but I will not doubt that there are things about the universe and myself that I am not quite advanced enough to comprehend...

Well, the issue with tarot cards is they are not to be taken literally. They can't provide you with a yes or no solution and they also don't spell out exactly what you should do or not do. Through my experience, they present possible pathways and the potential outcome of those pathways depending on your mood and feelings in that frame of time. Things change as do our tastes and interests. An idea now can seem ridiculous a few years from now. Ever catch yourself saying, "What the hell was I thinking?"
To wrap things up, tarot cards are a means to help separate the clouds in your head about a decision or issue you might have to make. Divination is a tough thing to procure because we have free will. If there is such a thing as destiny and fate, I'm sure it could exist..but I believe that not everything is written in stone. Maybe the main plot of life and who you meet, but not what you do with who your meeting or how your story ends in this lifetime.

well.....the future is the future. Sure I can give you a possible future through the cards but...can you ever prove me wrong? :P

As for the past, I have accurately predicted peoples past, even when I don't know them or their past....it's just a load of bullshit tho, I don't take it seriously.

But for example, a woman once came to mom and asked her to do a tarot reading. Mom did the reading and she told the woman she will get another child soon. Turns out the woman was pregnant already, she just hadn't told anyone about it. Still.....it's so up to chance and you can twist and turn the words until they fit. And the cards usually fit every person....everyone has had those things happening to them once in their lifetime at least.....

Well the same with horoscopes, they are so broad they could apply to anyone or mean anything...
