So this game is going free to play. Any thoughts on that? I played it when it was still pay to play, a few years ago. It was ok back then, so I was thinking bout going back and try it our for a bit now that it's free. Anyone else interested in joining me or am I just....going to have to go at it alone?

As soon as I get my high-speed internet back up and running it will be the first thing I download. Can't wait. I was thinking of getting it a while back, was short on money so decided against it. Good to see developers are starting to care more about the consumer than their own monetary gain. |

Coolio! I'll be on the american servers since well....my mom bought the game for me from america. Also...it has to be said...... Gimli is a big fat liar. There really are no female dwarves. |

No female dwarves?! I'm disappointed but not altogether surprised. Wasn't thinking of playing one but can imagine it being an annoyance for some players. Anyway, perhaps we'll see some other people from the Toegoff community online. Forgive me for sounding like a noob but is there a guild system in LOTRO? Would be cool if one could be started specifically for the Toegoff community. |

I do believe there is. I think they are called Fellowships and you can get yourself a guild house or something. It would be a lot of fun if we'd get more goffers to play

I agree. There are a lot of people wanting to join Toegoff's guild in The Old Republic so why not in LOTRO. It would be a shame if all the others miss out on a game that looks great and is free. Time to spread the word! |

well...it's more active now that there are more players. Even if they're just trying it out at least there's someone else there. When I last played ptp version I sometimes didn't see even one person the whole day. |

I guess Lord of the Rings isn't as popular in the public eye as it used to be. But your right, now that it's free there will be people who are just trying it out who might keep playing. |

now that it is free I'm actually thinking bout subscribing! XD It's cheaper that way really. But still I wonder.....what happens if you subscribe one month, make a character that's not available for other players, or you make more money than the limit other players have and then your subscription end and you decide not to pay this month but you still want to play.....what happens to that character then? I must know! XD |

I'm not sure what happens. I can only guess it will be a big rigmarole that is probably not worth anyone's time. Just another way they can convince you to keep your subscription. |

most likely. I just find some of the quest packs (the only thing I'm really interested in) a bit expensive....one of the cheaper quest packs costs as much as one month subscription while when you DO subscribe, you get all the perks and they even give you some points each month to spend.... |

From everything I've read and everything you've told me it seems that the best way to go about this, if you want any of the premium stuff, is to subscribe. So much simpler and cheaper. |
