Have you ever donated blood?

I gave blood for the fourth time a couple days ago. First time donating double the red blood cells though. I think it's were they seperate the blood calls from the plasma and then put the plasma back in. I think I may have had a delayed effect to or something because the next day I nearly passed out on my pottery wheel in ceramics class. I feel fine now though. I can only assume that perhaps I should have drank more water than I did afterwards.

And it may sound strange or morbid....but I find myself fascinated watching my blood get drawn.

So, any fun blood donation stories to share? Or are you not old enough/able to?

Never have. but of course, i would want to any way. i am 11, but i dont even remember what it feels like since i have not gotten shots since i was like, 2.

i dont think this story would count, but one time, i was out at break, rough playing with a couple of friends of mine, and one of them pushed onto the cement. my finger stinged a little bit, but i did not bother to look at it. then about 30 minettes laterm i had to go to piano class. and i was so busy looking at the music notes, i did not look at the keyboard until the bell rang, and i got blood on piano.

believe it or not, its true. and it only happened yesterday.

No, I'm afraid of the syringe.

All booze and no mineral water makes blood donation guy a dull boy. I hung around a blood donation truck for a few days when I was into the sexy nurse.

I've never donated blood, don't think I would like to either, I'm a bit afraid of the process and outcome.

I've donated blood several times, everyone in our local high school were encouraged to do their part whenever there was another campaign for blood donations.

The nurses even gave you a large bar of chocolate, what more could a man want? :D

You don't have to have vaccinations and booster shots in your school district? Weird.

Anyway, I've given blood when I was 17, at my high school's blood drive. I did it primarily to get out of class, even though I'm afraid of needles and hate having my blood drawn.

You can seriously feel the blood pumping out of your arm, it's disgusting.

Red Cross kept calling me after that trying to get me to donate more, I dunno if I'm a universal donor, or if my blood type is just rare.

I don't feel the blood being pumped out at all.....but when they were putting the plasma back in I could feel that. It made my arm tingle a bit.

Oh, and I don't think it matters what blood type....if you donate once they'll keep trying to get you to come back. I go back through because I feel as if its at least one good thing I can do in my life.

As for my blood type I'm O+

No, they told me my blood was either rare, or a universal donor. I just can't remember which.

They do give out good stuff once in a while. This time I got a really nice metal water bottle and a chance to win a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Then while the blood is drawn we get to watch a movie and afterwards gave us pizza.
